      Im Regen Richtung Göteborg und weiter…

      Nach einer sehr unruhigen Nacht sind wir heute morgen im Regen zu unserem nächsten geplanten Zielort in Göteborg gestartet. Dort wollten wir auf dem Campingplatz in Lisebergsbyn eigentlich übernachten.
      Leider war der Platz bis auf den letzen Platz belegt, auch der zweite Campingplatz dieser Kette hatte keine Kapazitäten mehr. Der Ferienbeginn machte sich auch hier und ebenfalls auf den Autobahnen bemerkbar.
      GANZ Schweden ist unterwegs!!!

      Somit griff Plan B, wir sind kurz außerhalb der Stadt auf einem tollen, ruhigen Platz untergekommen und werden die kommende Nacht wahrscheinlich besser schlafen können.

      Heute Nachmittag hat sich auch das Wetter etwas beruhigt, so dass ein Besuch am schönen Strand möglich wurde.      Read more

      Zurückmarschmarsch frei nach Kästner

      Gestern haben wir uns nur ganz wenig bewegt, eingefault ist eingefault. Gegen 17 Uhr sind wir dann doch noch mal los geradelt. Sonntag ist hier kein Grund nicht einzukaufen. Also Abendbrot zusammen gesammelt und noch mal den ortsansässigen Campingplatz beäugt. Nüscht verpasst. Im Laufe des Tages hatte das Wasserschutzamt allerdings herausbekommen, dass die Wasserqualität nicht die beste ist. Tatsächlich standen überall Schilder rum - ich hab mich gleich nicht mehr rein getraut😳obwohl ich das Wasser morgens noch toll gelobt habe und die Schilder am 29.07. ausgestellt waren. Hans war nicht so ängstlich… Abendbrot auf Klippe - Film geguckt im Hintergrund die Ostsee, sehr zum Erstaunen des anderen Wohnmobils was da rum stand. Rotwein auf Franzis 28. unerhört altes Kind 🙄🥰 und uff die Matratze🥱😴.
      Heute früh mal kalt Haare gewaschen und nu gehts zurück. Da wir noch bis Mittwoch Zeit haben gaaaanz in Ruhe 😎      Read more

      Tag 15 - Göteborg - Åsa

      Der erst Tag alleine auf dem Fahrrad😍🚴🏻‍♀️ Heute morgen schlief ich bis halb 10 im Hostel, was mir sehr gut tat. Ich war voller Vorfreude auf den ersten Fahrradtag alleine🥰 Die Begegnung mit den beiden Mädels gestern haben mir viel Mut gegeben. Ich lies mir beim zusammenpacken, frühstücken und ein paar WhatsApp Nachrichten an Freunde viel Zeit und startete um 12:00 Uhr. Das Wetter war sonnig mit etwas Wind☀️💨 Gestern war ich einkaufen und kaufte einige Sachen auf etwas Vorrat um nicht jeden Tag einkaufen zu müssen. Denn nun war ich alleine und ich muss mir für jeden Einkauf neu überlegen, ob ich mir den Aufwand mache, alles mit in den Laden zu nehmen oder ob ich meine Packtaschen am Fahrrad lasse und darauf vertraue, dass sie nach dem Einkauf noch dran sind.
      Der große Nachteil, nicht jeden Tag einen Supermarkt aufzusuchen ist, dass Lebensmittel echt viel Gewicht haben. Heute hatte ich mit dem Gepäck etwas zu kämpfen. Ich musste nun alles selber schleppen und kann mir kein Gewicht mit jemandem teilen (bspw. hatte Tjorben sonst das Zelt). Das hat mir heute sehr zu schaffen gemacht🥲 Es sind viele Sachen und noch fällt es mir schwer den Überblick über alle Taschen und deren Inhalte zu bewahren. Es ist viel zu bedenken, planen und organisieren✍🏻
      An den Verkehr muss ich mich erst noch gewöhnen. Oft habe ich mich heute trotz Komoot verfahren, was ziemlich geschlaucht hat.
      Am Ende des Tages bin ich auf einem Campingplatz gelandet. Ich hatte erst nach Sheltern gesucht, die waren dennoch oft an kleinen Seen, wo ich etwas Respekt vor vielen Mücken hatte. Gegen 18:00 Uhr kam ich ziemlich erschöpft am Campingplatz an. Kochen musste ich zum Glück nicht, weil ich noch Pizza von vorgestern hatte😁🍕Dazu ne Paprika… Perfekt 👌
      Nun bin ich frisch geduscht im Zelt und lasse entspannt den Abend ausklingen☺️

      Day 16

      Fredrikstad to Asa

      Hot chocolate in hand and canvas (plastic) overhead, the perfect way to write this diary. We are now in Sweden, having ridden just 300km or 190miles. It’s incredibly beautiful here, although not as majestic as Norway, it feels as little more peaceful perhaps. We had a fabulous day with Merete and Storm again today, riding the twisty biking roads towards Sweden and then stopping at the Elgåfossen waterfall that straddles the border. Once across, we headed to Fjällbacka for an ice cream and to say our final goodbyes as we headed south and they returned north. Fjällbacka was an incredibly scenic coastal village with archetypal houses, coastline and even Swedes!

      Now we are at a beach side camp site in Asa, heading to Copenhagen tomorrow. It has been sad to leave Norway but today has been brilliant and I’m beginning to appreciate the extent of this trip! Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Croatia here we come!!

      Sonne, Spiel & Strand in Åsa

      Da die Sonne nochmal richtig aufdrehen sollte, entschieden wir uns, zwei volle Tage auf dem Campingplatz in Åsa zu verbringen, wo es einen schönen Sandstrand gibt. Langes Ausschlafen, ausgedehntes Frühstück, Strand, Baden im angenehm temperierten Meer, SUP, frisch gefangenen Wolfsbarsch grillen - für mich der Grillfisch schlechthin, Eisessen, „Full House“ beim Qwixx, Fußball und einiges mehr.Read more

      Erfolgreiches Krebsangeln

      Wir probierten es in Åsa nochmal mit Krebsangeln. Als Köder dienten ein paar Scampis aus dem Glas. Es dauerte nicht lange und wir hatten die ersten Krebse gefangen. Sie waren nicht vom Kaliber des entwischten Krebses auf Marstrand, aber immerhin haben wir es auf insgesamt sieben Krebse gebracht, die wir später wieder freigelassen haben.       Day 22

      Day 19 - Argh! So much sun!

      After an evening camping in Boras, being bothered by the local crazy cat lady (a feature of all Swedish urban camping sites) we started riding out of the city as the sun rose in a cloudless sky.

      As a 25 degree day, we were in unknown territory. I was particularly struggling with thermal underlayers as my lightest clothing option. So it was a sweaty day of cycling through towns and along country roads, seeking shade and cool drinks where possible.

      We stopped on route in a town cafe, where I was able to get an ice coffee and we both had a proper lunch at a shaded outdoor table. After making heavy use of their complimentary soft drinks and chatting to the chefs, who all had working experience in the UK, we set off for a final push to our destination of Satila - a destination and a campsite reccomended to us by the last camp.

      Unfortunately, when we arrived it became quickly apparent that the Satila camp was a dive - unsupervised and ill-maintained with low quality facilities infested with bugs. So we were effectively wild camping, and only making use of the flat ground for the night.

      On the positive side, we were beside a large and beautiful lake, so I got to have a quick dip and we spent the evening on the pontoon cleaning our bikes, reading and generally enjoying the location.      Read more

      Day 23

      Day 20 - Lunch in sun, Dinner in storms

      So we awoke in our bug-infested, abandoned campsite and didn't waster any time getting our tents packed so we could move to the lakeside for breakfast. I did indulge my inner wild-man by using the bug-swarmed outdoor shower (little more than a worn shower curtain and a dirty shower mat, in a wooden shelter) before we left. I don't know if I was cleaner, but I felt cleaner.

      After breakfast and a quick wash of dishes in the Lake (only Porridge oats and water, so no dirtying the pristine waters) we set off. Before hitting some blissfully flat trails, we had to cross a valley, which meant two steep peaks and drops back to back. With the sun beating down, the swear was running and we were both being pursued by clouds of flies, as we conquered both peaks at the best pace that we could manage.

      After that, we stopped for lunch and cold drinks, plus a quick sink-wash, before bumping into a fellow (but former) Welsh man, who hailed from Bangor. We had a chat before setting off on what should have been an easy flat 40km. Unfortunately, after about 10km we caught sight of lightning on the horizon, along our route. After some indecision, we decided the best thing would be to hide out in the local pub (the first we have seen) and possibly wait out the storm.

      That proved to be a very smart idea, as the storm quickly approached and crossed over us. Torrential rain swept in and lightning followed, striking frequently and even hitting the ground across the street from the pub at one point - causing a power outage and cutting off out phone signals.

      So, with that weather front continuing to Loom, we opted to book into a hostel flown the street. We lost the chance to cover more distance, but gained a safe shelter and the chance to wash our clothes.      Read more

      Nach dem Aufstehen sind wir heute noch nach Dorbaek einem kleinen Fischerdorf unterhalb von Oslo gefahren, die letzte Station in Norwegen. Man kann sich fragen wieso wir Norwegen schon am Montag verlassen? Einerseits wollten wir noch für 2 Tage an die Ostsee und andererseits wollten wir eine etwas lockere Heimfahrt. Wir sind dann bis nach Asa (etwas unterhalb von Göteburg) auf den Asa Camping (215Sk)Read more
