Beautiful place. Visited the Stone Store the oldest building in NZ. Rainbow Falls and a famous Public Restroom. Ferried over to the old town of Russell the first Capital of New Zealand.
A great city of 2,000,000. Highest per capita ownership of boats. Beautiful yachts everywhere. Got some shots of some cool ones including an America’sCup Sailboat.
Took the ferry to Waiheke Island this morning. Waiheke is known for its many vineyards and beaches. It did not disappoint. Beautiful day!
Visited Te Puia Park home of the famous Pahutu Geyser. An amazing geothermal area near the Bay of Plenty.
Short stop in Napier to sample some wine and walk about town. Hawks Bay has over 90 wineries. The lumber export operation was huge. Shipping New Zealand pine all over the world. Mostly China.
Greeted by the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship as we entered the port this morning. Rode the Cable Car and visited the Botanical Gardens.
Passed the southern most point in Australia this morning! So glad to see land after rough sea days. A few other cruise ships in our lane. The Viking Sky is our sister ship on a World Cruise as well.Les mer
