    Mauna Kea Observatory

    It is 9.40 pm right now and I'm tired. 😴 zzzzz
    This morning, we went to the beach, and we practiced snorkeling (which was not that fun for me) and Daddy drove to Kona for a hour to go to a beach that had Sea turtles. Unfortunately, we couldn't see any Sea turtles. We went to Humpys restaurant, I had chicken fingers and the first French fry in America this week (we are trying to eat healthily). It was yummy. Then we headed home, we all rested before we went to the shopping centre. We had dinner and it was time for the Mauna Kea Observatory. The Mauna Kea Observatory is high up in the mountains, higher than MT.Fuji! It was colder than summer in Ireland, it was app.4-5 degrees! We were all wearing cold clothes and we were all freezing to death, we were even higher than clouds ☁️! We went to the gift shop and we drank hot chocolate! Ooh 😲 soooooo warm. Then Mammy bought us astronaut ice cream! Freeze dried chocolate ice cream. Weird. Goodnight! More photos coming tmrwLeggi altro

    昨日、ビーチ に 行きました。スノーケル も しました。。その後、海ガメ が いる 海 へ 行きました。また スノーケル を しました。ランチ は ハンピー の レストラン に 行きました。私 は チキン フィンガー を 食べました。味 が なかったです。夜は マウナケア おブザーばとり に 行きました。星 が キレイ でした。 アイルランド より 寒かったです。4ー5 ど でした。寒かったから、ホッと チョコレート を 飲みました、あと、アストロノット の 食べ物m(アイス) を

    一昨日ビッグアイランドに来ました。空港に行く前に、ワイメア渓谷に行きました。思ったより、遠くて、1時間かかりました。とても高かったです。渓谷の深さは1キロほどあるそうです。鳥がだいぶ下にみえて、ヘリコプターも私たちの下を飛んでいて小さく見えました。かざる絵 みたいで すごかったです。1 時間 が かかったけれども、良い経験 でした。 👍🏻帰りは道が曲がりくねっていたので　少し気持ち悪くなりました(*_*;　だけど、今はじょうぶです。Leggi altro

    Snorkeling

    Today we went snorkeling, it was my first time. I don't like swimming with fish when they're very close, so I didn't know if it was going to be fun, but I was guessing it was not. We had to be in the boat for 1 hour. I was nervous, I didn't want to go in the water. I wanted to stay in the boat. It was about 25 mins and we saw spinner dolphins 🐬! They were pretty. There were about 4 dolphins. Today's lesson: Spinner Dolphins are named after their actions. So, we reached the snorkeling place, we had a little history lesson about Captain Cook and what happened to him when he went to Hawaii. We reached the snorkeling place, we had a 5 minute snorkeling lesson and off we were in the water. The water was app.13 feet deep and everyone wore floaties except Daddy. First I was scared, but then I got used to it the fish were pretty cute, but they were also small. We saw a yellow fish, a lot of blackfish and a yellow tubesnout fish. Me and mammy were looking a bit longer, and Daddy and Conor went to the slide. The slide will lead you into the sea, and had a big gravity drop at the end. I went on it and didn't like it. Water got in my eyes, nose and I couldn't see anything. I got on the slide 2 times and Mammy was feeling cold, so she finished and was eating chips downstairs, (A LOT of chips) when they blew the whistle, which means snorkeling is finished, the captain started the boat. But suddenly, the captain stopped the boat and we heard a shout! The captain said to look over there and we all saw a Sail fish jumping in the air! The captain said that the crew in the bottom caught that with a fishing rod! Every one was looking at the fish and the crew were going to eat it for dinner! When we reached the shore, we got to see the size of the sailfish! It was the biggest fish I have ever seen.Leggi altro

    昨日、初めて スノーケル を しに行きました。海 の 水 が キレイ で 海 に 入る前に、ウニ が ちゃんと 見えました。私 は 魚 が 近く いたのが 怖かったので、本当はスノーケル をやりたくなかったです。船 に 乗って、25分くらい たった時、ハワイアン イルカ が　およいでいるのが 見えました。イルカの青い色 と 泳ぎ方 が キレイ でした。4匹 ぐらい 見ました。私 は ずっと 船 から出たくなかったのですが、出ないとあっかんだったので、しかたなく出ました。ママ と マヤ は うきわ を 借りました。どうしてかと言うと、深さが、4メートル ぐらい あったからです。キレイな黄色と黒の魚が🐟いっぱい見えました。３0分ぐらいスノーケルをしたら、私、
    コナーとダデイは海に落ちる滑り台に乗りました。落ちる所は高くてこわかったです。滑り台を二回乗った時、スノーケル
    セッション が 終わりました。
    みんな　船　に　もどり、帰るのに 30分 ほど船 に乗った時、キャプテン が 船 を止めました。どうしてかと言うと、ほかのスタッフ達が
    大きいセイルフィッシュ という魚を捕まえたからです！！その魚は人 と 同じくらいの長さ でした。
    最初はやりたくなかったけれど、スノーケル 楽しいことがわかりました。とくに、キレイな魚を見れたのが、おもしろかったです。    Leggi altro

    Helicopter ride

    Today, we woke up early (5.40am) because we were going on a helicopter ride. It was my first time going on a helicopter and I was pretty exited. Daddy drove to the place and we were ready to go! People got us in the seats, we sat down, put our headphones on and were ready to go. The reason we need headphones is because the sound of the propellers hitting the air. We had BOSE headphones and they are a good type of headphones.
    It was weird when we were in the air because I have never been on a helicopter before and it was different to a plane. But as soon as we left, I didnt feel well. Normally, I dont get motion or sea or air sickness, but for some reason I felt like vomiting. We didnt even turn or had a sharp move, but I just didnt feel right. There were microphones on the helicopter and to talk, you would push the button. But the mike wasn't that good and the reason was that the audio wasn't working on this helicopter.
    We got to see some beautiful sceneries. We saw volcanoes with lava splurting out and some steep valleys with amazing waterfalls.
    Even at the very end of our flight, I was still feeling bad and I even threw up a little bit in my mouth! :(
    This was a fun activity and next time I hope I don't vomit! 🤢🤢🤢    Leggi altro

    🍤今日、朝 の 5時40分 に 起きました。ヘリコプター ツアー の 日 だからです。🍤
    🍗私 は ヘリコプター に 乗るのは 初めて でした。🍗
    🍮なぜか、すぐ気持ちが悪くなってしまいました。🍮
    🥘ヘリコプターの中は音がものすごくうるさいので、全員ヘッドホンをつけました。🥘
    🍖ヘリコプターは高度1000フィート(300m)でとんでいました。🍖 🍦火山🌋や、溶岩が見えて、びっくりしました。😳🍦 🍡 あたワイピオ渓谷の間をヘリコプターでとおりました。🍡 🍥コナーと私は少し持ち悪くなってしまいました。オエー🍥

    San Francisco.

    Today we left Hawaii. I am on the plane ✈️ right now, and we are flying to San Francisco!! It is my first time going there and we are going to arrive at 9pm. So late! We are going to stay in a hotel close to the airport. I had roast beef on the plane and I ate some of Mammy's ravioli. I had delicious 😋 2 bite brownies and Conor got a Hawaiian necklace, and I got playing cards, and Mammy also bought a cute silver plumeria necklace 🌺! Tomorrow we are going to drive to Lake Tahoe to go Kayaking and white-river rafting.Leggi altro

    Lake Tahoe

    I am Lake Tahoe right now, and it took us 4.5 hours. It was really boring, we had subway for lunch and we got in our hotel. I had bacon egg and cheese sandwich. When we got in the hotel, we went for a 4km run to Lake Tahoe and ate cold stone creamery after the run, it was yummy. I had a mint mint chocolate chocolate chip. I am in the hotel room right now.     レイク タホ まで 車で4.5時間 かかりました。ランチはサブウエーで卵、ベーコン と チーズ サンドイッチ を 食べました。卵 は お気に入り じゃなかったです。ホテルについたら、レイクまで4キロ散歩に行きました。散歩の帰りにはずっと行きたかったコールド ストーン くりーめれリーていうアイスくりーむ を食べました。甘かったです。ご飯は ピザです。

    Kayaking

    Today we woke up early because we went Kayaking. It was my second time, I did it in Princeville Ranch in Kauai. It was really cold it the morning, I had goosebumps!! The Kayaks were 2 person kayaks, me and Daddy got on one and Conor and Mammy went on another, and our instructor Sean went on a one person Kayak. Lake Tahoe is Americas 2nd deepest lake and the worlds 10th deepest lake! Apparently, the deepest the lake can go is 500m down! When we got on our kayaks and kayaked app.1.5 miles, we saw a big house. This house is called Thunderbird Lodge and a billionaire George Whittle bought a LOT of land (2000acres I think) in the early 1900. Whittle was planning to make a summer-hotel with a skiing place, casinos and stuff like that, but for he's love of animals he is recluse, and bought a elephant. Whittle died in 1969, and his family sold the building to the state and you are now allowed to have weddings there. Sean said that some people think that Whittle still haunts the building....🐘👻👻👻💀☠️ We got to see Whittles HUGE house and his elephants BIG stable. After we passed the house, we had a stop at Chimney beach, where the water was freezing cold!! I ate an energy bar and we switched partners, and I was with Mammy. There were boats, so we got big waves and I was scared that we would tip over. We finally reached the destination and we kayaked 10k!!

    今日は、６時に起きました。カヤックに行くからです。私はプリンスビルランチでカヤックをしたことがあります。けれど、今日は、レイクタホの広い湖でカヤックができて良かったです。朝は気温が低くて鳥肌がたつほど寒かったです！！！レイクタホのカヤックは2人乗りカヤックでした。私とダデイが青いカヤックに乗って、ママとコナーは赤いカヤックに乗りました。レイクタホの深さは世界で１０番目です！（一番深いところで５００ｍ）　４キロぐらいカヤックをしたところで、大きい家が見えました。ガイドのショーンが、お金持ちのウィットルさんという人が１９００年代に２０００エーカーの土地を買って、そこで象を飼って住んでいた、と教えてくれました。ウィットルさんは１９６９年に亡くなりましたが、その後家族が　ネバダ州にその土地と家を売ったそうです。今は、そこで結婚式などのイベントができるそうです。まどを見たら、
    ウイットルさんのゆうれい👻が見えるかもしれません、、、
    その後チムニービーチにというビーチにつきました。チムニービーチまでにやく５ｋｍだそうです。そこで、ちょっとビーチで遊んでから、またもとのところまでカヤックをして帰りました。帰ってら、１０ｋｍカヤックして帰ったら、運動できたので嬉しかったです。けれど、日焼け止めをなんどもぬったのに、ひやけしました。：（    Leggi altro

    White water rafting

    We had to wake up early AGAIN because we were going white water rafting!! 👏 👏 👏 white water Rafting is where you go on a raft and the current pushes you on the river! In rafting, from highest to lowest there are 5 levels. Today we will be doing level 3. It was my first time and I was hoping there were no 🐟 fish. It took 1 hour by car and 10 minutes on the white water rafting bus 🚌. Me,Conor and another boy were the only children. The rest were adults. A professional photographer called Chris was there and He used me as the model for the opening slide! He chose me because he said "You look like you have a nice smile." 😊 I was on the first photo holding a "enjoy the video sign!!" We got everything set up and Adam (a leader) chose Ivan for us, because Ivan was the most experienced and the best for children. We got on our raft and off we went. The Truckee river is a very clear and a very shallow river and is 5 miles long. We were allowed to swim in the 'Swimming holes where the water is deep and calm. Me and Conor went in the Swimming hole twice and it was VERY cold, the water was app.15 c and Conor had goosebumps! We used our paddles when Ivan said to used them. When we were on our first rapid the drop wasn't that big. On the second drop, it was deep and the third level rapids, (there were 2: 'Jaws' and 'Pinball') I was most scared about pinball because we were the 'ball'. When we went on Jaws there was a HUGE drop! Water came in from everywhere and me and Conor's teeth were chattering!!! It was freezing, colder than summer in Ireland 🇮🇪!!! Conor was going to cry because he didn't want to go on Pinball, but I told him "would you rather stay in this river for the whole night, or just do Pinball" and he replied "Pinball" and after all, Pinball wasn't scary.
    That was veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery fun and I want to do that again!!!!!!    Leggi altro

    今日は初めてラフチングをしました。私は楽しみでした。ラフトは4人乗りで、私達の先生はアイバンでした。どうしてアイバン？その答えはアイバンが一番経験がある先生だからです。私達が乗った時、蒸し暑かったです。けれど、川の中は16度ぐらいで上小川小学校のプールより冷たかったです。川に2回入りました。川に入ったら、すずしくなりました。アイバンがパドルを前/後ろて言って、私達が前/後ろをしました。2・3・ラピドがありました。1は全然怖くなかったです。これだけか。。と思って、ガーンてなりました。2はちょっとこわかったです。3の時はコナーと私が一番前にいて、ママとダデイが後ろでパドルをしました。3ラピドのジョーズ🦈の落ちる所が怖くて、川の水が入ってきて、はがガタガタなって、鳥肌が立っていました！！ジョーズ🦈の後のピンボールは全然怖くなかったです。ジョーズが一番こわかったです。
    本物のジョーズ(シャーク)にガブリとたべられるのが嫌です。ぎゃー😱    Leggi altro

    Yosemite

    It is 10.40am right now and today we are driving to Yosemite for 4 hours. I had safari oatmeal for breakfast and Conor had cereal. Yesterday, I got a brand new water bottle for the car ride and so we don't waste the PET bottles. Mine is pink with forest animals and it's pretty. Conor's is a blue surfing bottle. We bought it at Raleys.
    When we were going for a toilet break in the shops, me and Conor found a Freal milkshake maker! Me and Conor was staring at it and finally Mammy and Daddy said we could have 1/2 each. I was so happy! I choose Mint Chocolate flavor and Conor chose Chocolate. The way they made it was amazing! It only took 1 minute and you got to choose the thickness. Except when we opened it, we saw that it was unhealthy, so we could only have 1/3 of it. But it was sooooo Delicious!!! The mint was sooooo soothing and and the chocolate tasted like Belgian chocolate! Then, we stopped at Lee Vining to see Mono Lake which is famous for its salt. Around 50 years ago, people decided to change the flow of the streams for drinking water and this damaged the lake environment. We stopped at Mono Lake Visitor Center (MLVC) and I learned that you would float if you swam in Mono Lake because of the salt. We kept on driving to Tioga Pass, it was a very high road, over 3000m, there was SNOW! I tried climbing and Mammy took loads of photos! It was very hard coming down the snow slope, because I was wearing flip-flops. The ice was so cold, my hands hurt!!!!!!! Then, we drove to a meadow where you could see some big rocks and I slipped and fell over! It got scraped and there was a little blood but it didn't hurt. When we reached Yosemite, we got our bags/suitcases and checked in and me, Daddy and Conor swam 40 short laps in the pool. Then we got changed and ate smores!! There were Graham Crackers, marshmallows and Hershey's chocolate. It was my first time making a smore! I accidentally put my marshmallows on the flame 🔥 and it got burnt. But the second time, it was OK ;) I had grilled cheese sandwich, apples and mussels for dinner and it was great. Now we are going to sleep. Goodnight!    Leggi altro

    今日、レイクタホ から ヨセミテまで車で4時間かけていきました。スポチファイというアプリでみんなで音楽を聞きました。私がスポチファイ一番好きな歌はワナビー と ハンドクラップです。みなさん知っていますか。トイレきゅうけい🚽🚺に行った時にフリールミルクシェイクというものを買いました。1分でミルクシェイクが作れる機械で作りました。私はミントチョコ味を買いました。ミントがすごくスッキリして、チョコがベルギーチョコレートの味がして美味しかったです。ダデイが約50分ぐらい運転したら、雪が残ってる場所があったので、あそびました。全然さむくはなかったのですが、氷を触った時、冷たくて、手が痛くなりました。ホテルに着いたら、夕食に行く前に、スモアズというクラッカー、マシュマロとチョコのおやつを作りました。マシュマロを火であぶって、柔らかくして、クラッカーとチョコで挟みました。
    クラッカーとチョコが美味しくなかったので、コナーとママにあげました。私はマシュマロだけを食べました。美味しかったです。また食べたいです。明日からヨセミテ

    Daddy's birthday

    Today is Daddy's birthday and we bought him 3 pairs of funny socks, a king beer opener and a t-shirt that has Jeep upside-down and it looks like "Beer". Daddy likes it a lot. We went for a 1 hour drive to Glacier Point. At Glacier Point, we could see beautiful waterfalls, trees, roads, a hanging rock that people (a long time ago) stood on and villages. After Glacier Point, Daddy drove to McGurk Meadows and we walked 5km! We took videos with the GroPro and it was tiring! Everyone ran out of water and all of us were super duper thirsty I felt like I was going to die!! 😩Daddy got us a drink in the shops and we felt so cool and cold ( so much better) Then we went to see the waterfall from glacier point really clear! I could feel the water dripping and it was beautiful!! I hope I can see more beautiful scenery in Yosemite!Leggi altro

    ダデイの誕生日

    今日はダディの誕生日です！わたし、ママ、コナーは　ダディに、おもしろい柄のくつ下三足、王様のデザインのせんぬきと、ビールと書いてあるティーシャツをあげました。ダディは喜んでくれました。
    朝食の後、グレーシアポイントというところまで車で一時間かけて行きました。そこでは、たき（ネバダフォールたき、ヨセミテフォールたき、など）木、車が小さく見えました。すごかったです！鳥になった気分でした。
    その後マクガークメドウというところにハイキングに行きました。花がきれいで、ちょうちょやトンボもたくさんいておもしろかったです！でも往復５キロ歩いたので　つかれました。。。そして、ホテルに戻る途中で、ブライドベールフォール（たき）というところに立ちよりました。その時はすごくのどがかわいていて死にそうでした。（お水はもうなくなっていました）でも　たきはとてもきれいで水しぶきが飛んできました。また　きれいなたきを見てみたいです。

    Carlon Falls

    Today we went hiking again! Yesterday we went hiking as well. Today we climbed Carlon Falls. Carlon Falls trail head was 5 minutes by car (not long.) Carlon Falls has beautiful waterfalls that you can see if you hike until the top. We hiked for 40mins and we saw a river with little trout. Then, we met a man who was fishing. He said that we were not even half-way there yet, and he said that there is a very steep place up ahead because the rain washed the trail away, so it was going to be hard climbing up. And he was right, it was very very steep, everyone got tired(especially me and Conor) It was still very steep and we saw big rocks all-over the place. We had to climb on the rocks in order to walk to the next place. We saw dead trees, loads on the trail path and it was hard to walk through. When we finally reached the top , me and Conor found special rocks and cleaned them and kept it in our pockets. I lost one of mine and Conor thought he lost his...

    but he was sitting on it!

    The waterfall was beautiful and the water was so cold and the trail was sandy. My feet were super duper sandy!!😱😱😱😱 I hope I can see a waterfall as beautiful as this one, and not have dirty feet again.    Leggi altro

    今日はカーロンフォールにハイキングに行きました。カーロンフォールは可愛いたきです。ハイキングのスタート地点までは車で五分ぐらいでしたが、そこからカーロンフォールまでは歩いて、1時間以上かかりました。やく40分歩いたら、おじいさんにあいました。おじいさんは漁師でした、ここで釣った魚は🐟小さいマロでした。私達はマロが泳いでるのを見えました。あまりキレイじゃなかったです。おじいさんは上に急なさかと大きな石がある所があるから、気を付けてね！ と言いました。さかについた時、ダデイはおじいさんが言った急なさかと大きな石がある所だよ！て私達に教えくれました。
    さかを歩いた時、私とコナーはすぐに疲れました。けれど、ダディは全然疲れませんでした。カーロンフォールについたら、
    私とコナーはツルツルした石をみつけて、洗いました。洗ったら、すごくキレイになりました。あの石は今、ホテルのテーブル
    にのせてます。カーロンフォールはすごくキレイで、人が少なくて、良い所でした。靴下を脱いだら、足がすごくきたなかった

    Today we got in the car to go to San Francisco. We were lucky that we left today because the forest fire haze was really bad!! The sky was yellow and it smelled so bad, I was holding my nose in the car and my eyes started watering!! Sometimes, wild fires happen naturally because the forest might have been hit with lightning or a human might have accidentally started the fire. When we reached San Francisco it was so clear, it felt so nice and it was colder than Yosemite.(14c)
    Then we walked to Fishermans wharf and we went to Ghirardelli square and we bought chocolates. We got samples as well!! I like the mint chocolate one, it was really yummy. ;) I hope I can go again.    Leggi altro

    Angel Island/ Arcatraz

    Today we went on a ferry to go to Angel Island and Alcatraz. Angel island was an immigration center and Alcatraz was a prison that closed down in 1969. First we stopped in Angel Island. We had 2 hours on Angel Island and for the first hour, because there was not enough space on the tram, we ate lunch. I had a turkey corn dog, it was yummy. Then we went to the mini museum. I learned that the 3 escapees from Arcatraz used a boat and apparently landed here. Then, for the second hour, we got on the tram. It was very chilly outside, around 14 c, the wind was strong and I was sooo cold! We didn't see any animals on the tour, but we had a beautiful view. Then, the 2 hours were done. We got on the same ferry and we drank hot chocolate because my teeth were chattering!!! When we reached Alcatraz, there was a scary photo of a prisoner. It said William G. Baker. "Meet him in the book store". Because Alcatraz closed down in 1969, I thought they were joking and it was fake. But Wendy, a lady who works there said that William (Bill) was a prisoner here in Arcatraz and you could meet him. I got super terrified and didn't want to go upstairs to meet him, but realised he has to be a good man or else he wouldn't be an author and be with us. Then, we went on a 45 minute walking tour and I learned that 14 people tried to escape but only 3 people did escape. Then, we got to see inside the cells, the shower, kitchen, and lots more with an audio tour. We got to see the actual dummy heads that was used for the escape. It was creepy and I couldn't believe that the officers thought the dummy heads were real heads. I saw the author and realised he was 80 when he wrote that book. Alcatraz was a scary prison. Then on the way back, I got a cute unicorn novelty hat!!! I love it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Leggi altro

    今日はアルカトラズ島とエインジェルアイランドに船で行きました。エインジェル アイランドは昔の移民センターで、アルカトラズ島は1969年にお金が足りなくて、使われなくなった古い刑務所です。
    最初はエインジェルアイランドにいきました。エインジェルアイランドで2時間過ごしました。最初の1時間はランチを食べました。私はコーンドッグを食べました。ものすごく美味しかったです！！ランチを食べた後、ミニ博物館に行きました。アルカトラズ島から逃げた人の使ったラフトがエンジェル島で いつかったそうです。2時間目はトラムに乗りました。お外は14度ですごく寒かったです。。。トラムでは残念ながら動物を見る事が出来ませんでした けれども、景色が可愛いかったです。
    その後、また船に乗って、アルカトラズ島きました。そこで怖い写真がありました。ウイリアムベーカー(元囚人)に会える
    とかいてあって、びっくりしました！！ウイリアムベーカーはアルカトラズ島
    の囚人で、現在80 歳 で アルカトラズでの生活を本に書いたのです
    アルカトラズ島は本当の刑務所でした。3人がウソな頭(ニセ頭)を作って、脱走した話をヘッドホンで聞きました。その後、本物の実際に使われたニセ頭が見えました！すごかったです。刑務官が本当の頭だと思ったのは、変だと思います。でも、人
    囚人が逃げたから、怖いです。

    今日はヨセミテからサンフランシスコまで車で4時間かかりました。ヨセミテは山火事のヘイズがすごくひどかったです。空が黄色くて、クサかったです。クサすぎて、車で鼻をつまんみました。山火事はイナズマが木にあったて、それで木が燃える事もあるし、人が間違えて火をつけたまま寝ちゃって、火が木にうつってしまう時もあります。サンフランシスコについたら、空がキレイで、ヘイズがなかったです！
    サンフランシスコはヨセミテより寒いし、風が強いです(14度)。ホテルについたら、フィッシャーマンズ ウオーフのギラーデリスクエアの店に行きました。私はチョコのサンプルをもらいました。私はミントチョコのギラーデリが好きです。次回は、サンプルがミントチョコだと良いです。Leggi altro
