Had a detour to Tsodilo Hills - 3000+ year old Rock art and a UNESCO world heritage site. It was amazing, the highest point in Botswana (which is otherwise very flat) at 1395m- it’s a spiritualLæs mere
Leisurely breakfast with a view of the Kavango! Then a 7 hour drive …..The road was amazing compared to what we were used to in Botswana (and U.K.!) but people seem poorer and we were often askedLæs mere
Whole day driving through Etosha - very large numbers of wildebeest (and a lion chewing on one!), zebra and elephants. Now at Okaukuejo Camp on the west of Etosha pan. There’s a floodlit waterholeLæs mere
Lions roaring since the early hours - but our campsite was fenced so I wasn’t as twitchy as when we were at Khwai 😬. Literally just on leaving camp a white Rhino gave me the photo op I didn’tLæs mere
Drove through some more stunning scenery- Great open plains with lots of big hills/mountains. A few people had set up stalls selling curios by the side of the road and were trying desperately to getLæs mere
Day full of activities - can’t believe our luck, yesterday it was blowing a gale and this morning sunny and calm for a morning boat trip. Walvis is a large natural harbour and a busy port alongsideLæs mere
Amazing drive through the Naukluft mountains- over a couple of passes, impressive rock formations and photos just don’t capture the vastness of the desert and the plains. Now in a rather lovelyLæs mere
