Turtle Bay

After a not so successful sleep in (due to jet lag) we shared a banana and some frosty flakes for brekkie. We then started our journey to Hanouma Bay in an uber only to find out that you need a reservation to go and it was all booked out. Our uber driver switched course and was telling us about all the lovely destinations to go to and how the best way to get around is via a car. We switched courses again and he took us to his hire car. We then had the freedom to drive to shark Bay where we did some snorkelling and hurt our feet climbing over the rocks. We saw no sharks but lots of fishies. We then went to turtle Bay where we saw no turtles 😞 but it was still really nice. Lots of snorkelling = lots of sunburn. We then got home and ready for dinner festivities. We waited for 3 hours to get into the cheesecake factory and by then we were starvinggg. We eventually ate and could not fit in anything else.Meer informatie

Today I left the boys behind to play golf. With our trusty hired car me and we went to see the Blowhole. It didn't blow :( but it had a very lovely view. We then drove some more and found a nice beach. It had a very strong shore breakers and it was fun to watch people get swept away. Then we went to a new spot and had a lovely lunch at a cafe and a swim at the beach. We then rushed home for the free wine and cheese. I had an awkward encounter while dropping off the car who made comments about the very small amount of sand in the back 😳. I then caught up with James and Milky for dinner and drinks at maui brewery.Meer informatie

Pamper day

Today the girls got their nails done. 💅 we then had a picnic at the beach to celebrate some birthdays. We had a lovely swim and played waboba. Then got all glammed up for a cocktail party where we had fun eating fancy food and drinking very sugary cocktails. All the scraps kicked on for a fun night out. I nearly picked up a guy, shame he was really weird. James came to the rescue after making eyes 👀.Meer informatie

Wedding day
9 oktober 2022, Verenigde Staten ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C
Today was the main event. We had a leisurely breakfast and glammed up. We then took the bus which broke down right in front of a local coffee farm making us including the groom late to the wedding!!!. We are not convinced that the bus company doesn't have a deal with this place as while we were waiting the wedding party ate and shopped. The wedding was very beautiful under an amazing tree with peacocks and roosters. We took many photos and danced the night away with the live band. There was a very interesting bus ride home and kick ons at a bar. To finish off James and I were the very last to be served at Maccas.Meer informatie

Recovery day

We had a big sleep in today and did not take many photos. We did some shopping and had a acai bowl brekkie. We then went to a picnic with the wedding people. Had a swim and played waboba. We went out to a very bougee cocktail bar right on the where it was $40 for a chicken nugget. It was decided that we could not afford dinner here and we went to Dennys.Meer informatie

Girls day

Today the girls rented cars to go exploring while the boys had another golf day. We started at Ihop for a pancake breakfast. There was too many and they didn't all fit in my tummy. After some faffing about we left for shark Cove. At shark Cove we snorkelled and saw a turtle!! It swam straight towards me. We then went to a surfer town and looked around. We ate at the food trucks and I had a very yummy falafel sandwich. We then headed back for me to catch my flight. The airport experience was very smooth. We got our rental car and drove to our digs. Jamesy was a but grumpy because there was no dinner.Meer informatie

Dive day!!!

Today I went diving!! I met at the dive shop with all the other divers. We hopped on the boat and headed to Lanai. On the way there was a big pod of spinner dolphins jumping out of the water. The first dive was really cool, it had a swim through and I saw some moneray eels peeping their heads out of the coral. I lost my dive buddies as they guzzled their oxygen too quickly. I had tooo many weights and got lost in all the conversions to the metric system. 2nd dive was through the 2nd cathedrals with lots of passage ways. I saw an octopus and black coral that looked like a chandelier. It was amazing.
I then reunited with Jamesy and we went snorkelling at Black Beach. We pretended to be at the very fancy sheriton hotel. We saw no turtles but lots of fishies. Relaxed with Gordon ramsey.Meer informatie

Road to Hana

On the road again we headed to Hana. We fuelled up in Paia and started on all the bends, bridges and beaches. Using a blog post for a guide and looking out for mile markers, we stopped at the twin falls and had a lovely swim in the cold water under the waterfall. We then went through a lava tube which was really cool. We made many stops at some cool beaches with lava formations. We saw the 3 bears and the painted trees. We supported the locals by buying pineapple bread, chocolate and smoothies. We then drove down what I thought was the forbidden road and turned back. By then we were exhausted. We drove back home and got some local Hawaiian cuisine to eat at a random beach.Meer informatie

Dag 29
Last day for turtles

Last day 😞. We checked out and went to the beach. Seeing as James was yet to see a turtle, we got the insider scoop on where to find them. After snorkelling for 40minutes we found one!! It was an amputee and was missing the front fin. We then went to Napali Bay for some more snorkelling and found another turtle (with all its limbs).
We then had a lovely last lunch in a resort where our sunburn was starting to show. We were very sticky getting to the airport.Meer informatie
