Bei einem Tagesausflug hatten wir das Glück einigen Delfinen zu beginnen - wie immer eine tolle Erfahrung!
Wir haben ja schon einige Schnorcheltrips unternommen, aber dieser hier war tatsächlich einer der schönsten! Inmitten durch Fischschwärme und unser Highlight: bis zu 8 Mantarochen, die teilweise keine 30cm unter uns geschwommen sind ❤️

On a day trip we were lucky enough to spot some dolphins - as always a great experience!
We've already gone on a few snorkeling trips, but this one was actually one of the best! Not only swimming in the middle of hundreds of fishes but also with up to 8 manta rays, some of which swam less than 30cm below us ❤️ Czytaj więcej

Willkommen im Paradies! Nach einer 90-minütigen Fahrt mit dem Speedboat (nichts für schwache Mägen) sind wir in unserem Resort auf der Insel Velifushi angekommen. Es ist wirklich ein Traum und so wie man es sich vorstellt: eine wunderschöne kleine Villa direkt am Wasser, glasklares Wasser, unglaublich leckeres Essen und vieles mehr!

Welcome to paradise! After a 90-minute speedboat ride (not for a weak stomach), we arrived at our resort on Velifushi Island. Wir hatten eine wunderbare & entspannte Zeit auf den Malediven. Wir freuen uns nun aber riesig auf die nächsten vier Wochen auf Sri Lanka. Unser Fahrer Mahesh wurde uns von Freunden empfohlen und wird uns auf unserer Reise begleiten.

Unser erster Stopp ist Anuradhapura, die erste Hauptstadt Sri Lankas. Sie war über 1000 Jahre lang Zentrum verschiedener singhalesischer Königsdynastien und hat sehr viele heilige Tempel zu bieten. Einige davon haben wir heute besichtigt. Es war, wie auch in Indien, sehr schön zu sehen wie religiös die Menschen sind und Teil von den Zeremonien & Ritualien zu sein.

Our first stop is Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka. It was the center of various Sinhalese royal dynasties for over 1000 years and has many holy temples to offer. We visited some of them today. As in India, it was very nice to see how religious the people are and to be part of the ceremonies and rituals. Czytaj więcej

Ein paar Stunden weiter in den Osten sind wir in Trincomalee angekommen. Hier werden wir die nächsten 4-5 Tage am Meer verbringen und mit dem Roller ein paar Strände erkunden.
Beni hat übrigens ein neues Spielzeug und übt nun täglich mit einer Drohne, die er sich ausgeliehen hat 🤡

A few hours further east we arrived in Trincomalee. Here we will spend the next 4-5 days by the sea and explore a few beaches on the scooter.

Roller fahren ist einfach herrlich! Wir haben die Gegend hier auf zwei Rädern erkundet und ein paar Strände besucht. Das Wetter hier oben war leider nicht immer so gut, aber dafür hatten wir ein tolles Hotel, in dem man gut entspannen konnte. Unser Highlight: der fahrende Bäcker, den man an der Straße anhalten und etwas kaufen kann.

We love riding a scooter! We explored the area on two wheels and visited a few beaches. Unfortunately, the weather up here wasn't always that good, but we had a great hotel where we could relax. Our highlight: the traveling baker that you can stop on the street and buy something. Czytaj więcej

Heute ging es wieder ins Landesinnere nach Sigiriya. Sigiriya ist unter anderem für den Lions Rock bekannt, auf den wir von unserer Unterkunft aus einen tollen Blick haben. Es ist so schön grün und still hier, perfekt um einfach nur vom Baumhaus aus die Natur zu genießen.

Today we went back inland to Sigiriya. Sigiriya is known, among other things, for Lions Rock, which we have a great view of from our accommodation. It's so beautifully green and quiet here, perfect for just enjoying nature from the tree house. Czytaj więcej

Unsere Zeit in Sigiriya war leider mit viel Regen verbunden, dafür hatten wir aber das Glück sehr viele Elefanten anzutreffen. Sowohl im Nationalpark, als auch mitten auf der Straße 🐘🐘🐘 Ein sehr tolles Erlebnis! Wir haben soo viele Fotos & Videos, aber leider können wir hier nicht so viel hochladen 🤡

Unfortunately, our time in Sigiriya involved a lot of rain, but we were lucky enough to meet a lot of elephants. Both in the national park and in the middle of the road 🐘🐘🐘 A very great experience! We have so many photos & videos, but unfortunately we can't upload that much here 🤡 Czytaj więcej

Weiter geht es ins Landesinnere! Kandy besitzt das wichtigste Heiligtum von Sri Lanka, den Zahntempel, in dem buddhistische Mönche die kostbarste Reliquie des Landes hüten – einen heiligen Eckzahn Buddhas.
Im Schatten der Berge trotzte Kandy den europäischen Kolonialmächten am längsten. Kandy war der letzte singhalesische Königssitz des Landes, bevor die Briten 1815 die gesamte Insel eroberten.

We continue inland! Kandy has Sri Lanka's most important shrine, the Temple of the Tooth, where Buddhist monks guard the country's most precious relic - a sacred canine tooth of Buddha.
In the shadow of the mountains, Kandy defied the European colonial powers for the longest time. Kandy was the last Sinhalese royal seat in the country before the British conquered the entire island in 1815. Czytaj więcej
