We had a relaxing day walking around town. Lots of little shops and restaurants, many Scandinavian tourists. We’ve seen very few other Americans on this trip. Had some pool time and enjoyed sunsetLæs mere
Really enjoying slowing down. Another morning walk. Today the ocean was calmer so lots of people at the beach and we could swim in the warm Aegean Sea. We arranged a rental car for tomorrow to exploreLæs mere
Today we rented a little car called a Panda (Fiat). We drove over the mountains to Paleochora, a village on the Bay of Libya. It took a little over an hour. We had fish for lunch and then hung out onLæs mere
We drove about 2.5 hrs to the other end of Crete. Heraklion is the capitol of Crete and has almost 200k people so it was quite a change!
We started this morning with some lattes. Had to resort to Starbucks since most of the local coffee shops weren’t open yet. Then we set off to visit Knossos Palace, the remains of the ancient MinoanLæs mere
Our last morning on Crete. We visited the archeological museum in the morning before our flight back to Athens. We had a great dinner on the beach. Early flight tomorrow to London then SFO. It’sLæs mere
On our way to SFO via London. I miss Greece already. See you all soon!
Over 10 hours in the air, 2 movies, some food and drink and we’re home
