    Koh Tao

    8 a.m. - I woke up and it rained again. I waited until the rain was over and got a fresh fruit bowl for breakfast.

    9 a.m. - I arrived at the diving school and met my lovely instructor Ainsley. Furthermore I met the other participants Felix, Lena, a couple from germany, and Bart my dive buddy. We started first in the pool with a swim and drift test. Furthermore we practiced many different skills you need to master for save scuba diving. For example who to check your gear right, different breathing patterns, how to clear your goggles when theres water in it, some emergency plans etc.
    After 3h practicing in the pool I was really tired but that is completely normal.

    1 p.m. - We got lunch in the restaurant vis-a-vis and discussed the theory I learned the day before.

    2:30 p.m. - We finished day one and I was excited for day two but at first I took a nap.

    4 p.m. - The nap was really nice until new people came into our room. Many new travelers arrived today on the island because everyone came from Koh Phangan from the Full Moon Party. Koh Tao wasn’t calm anymore like the day before it got really crowded.

    4:30 p.m. - I gave up my laundry and I had another three sections of homework for my diving license so I went into a café and learned. In this sections you learned much about the environment and the nature.

    7 p.m. - For dinner I went into town and ate my first burger since a long time. Here on the island are many restaurants with western food. After eating I went for a walk on the main beach and found a quite place with a hammock.

    10 p.m. - Later I got hungry again so I ate a late night snack and watched the world cup game Morocco vs. Portugal. Suddenly I met Anne from Pain again how was at the Full Moon Party and then moved to Koh Tao as well.

    Koh Tao

    8:30 - I woke up and got ready for the second day of the „open water course“. Furthermore there was finally sunshine.

    9:30 a.m. - In the afternoon we had theory for the sections 4,5 and 6 with I already learned the day before by myself. After that we had our final theory exam witch everyone passed.

    11 a.m. - We had our lunch break.

    12:30 p.m. - After lunch it was time for our first dives in the sea. So we packed all our stuff together and drove with a small boat out to the big boat. There we got an introduction for the boat and the rules. Moreover we prepared everything for our first dive. I was pretty exited and nervous. Bard a 2m guy from the Netherlands was my dive buddy. The first dive spot is called „Twins“ and we had a perfect view from the boat to the island „Koh Nang Yuan“. We learned how to jump in the water right and everything was perfect but somehow when we descend at a depth of 5m my right ear felt not right. I tried again and again but it didn’t felt right for me so Ainsley descends together with me back to the surface and I described her my problem. She explained it to me logical and I tried it again. Somehow on the second attempt I had no problems. When I finally got to the group we did all skills we learned the day before in the pool now in the sea at a depth of 12m.

    3:30 p.m. - After a break and discussing the first dive we went to the second dive site called „White Rock“. The second dive was way better than the first one. I had no problems at all and could focus a little bit more on the beautiful underwater world. The only problem I had was that I had absolutely no clue fish species I saw but that didn’t mater because it was breath taking.

    5:30 p.m. - We got back to land, washed our equipment and finished our first dive day. I did the laundry and chilled a bit at the beach.

    7:30 p.m. - I had dinner in a pretty cheap restaurant with beach view. I chilled there a bit and processed the day. After that I went back to the hostel took a shower and got to bed early.    Leggi altro

    Koh Tao

    5:45 a.m. - I woke up early for my last day of the open water course.

    6:30 a.m. - We head out to the sea for our morning dives. The first one was at twins and the second one at white rock as the day before. We had a lot of fun and I actually could concentrate the first time on the sea-life. Furthermore I saw my first box fish baby and the highlight a jorunna funebris.

    11:30 a.m. - Finished our morning dives. Bard and I went for lunch and decided to do the advanced course together.

    2 p.m. - In the afternoon I met up with Anne and Bard because we wanted to snorkel on the other side of the island but we got no scooter. So we went snorkeling at the main beach which was not really nice. Especially when you get used to scuba diving. We chilled at the beach and were hoping for a sunset when suddenly two Italien guys showed up. One of them flew a drone and the pictures from the drone where amazing.

    6 p.m. - Sadly we got no sunset but it started to rain. The weather was really unpredictable.

    7 p.m. - I met Bard and the others from the afternoon for dinner. It was so busy that we couldn’t enter the first restaurant and even in the second we waited 1h for our food. At least it was tasty.    Leggi altro

    Koh Tao

    8 a.m. - I woke up and extended my stay in the hostel because of the advanced course.

    9 a.m. - I met with my dive buddy Bard for breakfast at our almost main café “Zest”.

    10 a.m. - We started our advanced dive course and got new members Troy and Toby two very nice guys. Furthermore we got new dive instructors Jess and her assistant Sarah. In the morning we had another theory lesson where we learned how to move correctly and to navigate under water. Important if you breath in you ascent a little and if you breath out you descend a little.

    11:30 a.m. - Lunch break with the class where get got to know each other better.

    1 p.m. - We went for our first dive the buoyancy dive where we trained our theoretical knowledge. Slowly I get better how to move properly under water with less energy as possible. After that we had the navigation dive where we saw two giant trigger fisch. Honestly navigation under water is really difficult especially when you get distracted from the under water world.
    I just had one issue and that was I used my air much quicker than the other’s. Jess told me it could be because of my muscles are trained to take up as much air as possible to get the maximum of energy. The goal in scuba dive is to us as less energy as possible to extend your dive time. So I got a bigger tank than the others and I was fine.

    5 p.m. - We got back for a quick dinner.

    6 p.m. - The same day we had a night dive. It was a bit scary because of the darkness and the fact that you just got a torch. But when I was in the water it was insane. The sea life is so different and you have to be lucky as well but you can see really cool stuff. I saw two huge box fish but the highlight were the two cuttelfish. They were transparent and have shone. One of the got really close and inked.

    8 p.m. - We finished diving late and I went to bed straight.    Leggi altro

    Koh Tao

    5:45 a.m. - I woke up for my last day of diving and I was really excited. Furthermore there was a really nice sunrise.

    6:30 a.m. - We met up early for our two last dives. The first dive was a wreck dive and also a deep dive because we hit 30m. At that depth you can get nitrogen narcosis. It’s a phenomena where you get the same effect as you are drunk or high. Unfortunately I didn’t felt anything but the wreck was really cool. We even swam trough the captain’s cabin. The second dive was more a fun dive where we saw some cool corals and stuff like that.

    11:30 a.m. - We finished our advanced course and got some lunch at “Zest” once again. I found a new passion scuba diving. I love the feeling of hovering in the water feeling like be in space. Furthermore the silence while diving is awesome. You just hear your own breath.

    12:30 p.m. - After that Bart and I were able to rent a scooter for the last one and a half day. Furthermore I bought a good but expensive mask and snorkel.

    1:30 p.m. - Went wanted to go to mango beach but we ended up at a random beach which wasn’t even a beach just big stones. Moreover there was a abandoned resort which was cool to explore. Afterwards we wanted to go to the mango viewpoint but we were not sure to drive there because the roads were very scary and steep. It wasn’t even a proper road just a path. Suddenly Troy and Toby appeared and convinced us to go there. I drove on the back of Toby’s scooter because he had the most experience. And it was worth it the weather wasn’t that good but a great place to lay in a hammock and just enjoy the view.
    After that we went to another abounded place. Well we taught it was abounded but it wasn’t. They a restore the place and the workers where so friendly to show us the gorgeous view. Furthermore the had a beautiful husky with two different eye colors. Suddenly the owner of the house appeared, a german guy, and we had a little chat. He also recommended us a bar at shark bay where we went afterwards. The bar is a little bit hidden but really beautiful. Moreover the owner is really lovely and helpful. There we celebrated our advanced diving license with a whiskey sour.

    6 p.m. - We had dinner at a popular place called “Mama tam”. There you can get really good and cheap thai food. The owner of the bar recommended us as well a cool spot for sunrise and snorkeling so Bard and I made some plans for the next day.

    Koh Tao -> Surat Thani

    5:15 a.m. - I woke up early because we wanted to see the sunrise. I slept bad because someone set the AC to 20 degrees and I was freezing.

    5:45 a.m. - I met Bard and we drove to the “love koh tao” viewpoint for the sunrise. But we were unlucky because it was cloudy so we saw just a little from the sunrise. It was really disappointing because we woke up so early.

    7 a.m. - So we left and got us some breakfast.

    7:30 a.m. - After that we arrived at the bar from yesterday at shark bay because the owner told us you can see small sharks there in the morning and also sea turtles. The only problem was that the visibility was shit because of high waves. You could just saw your own hand.

    8:30 a.m. - The morning was really frustrating so we went back to the hostel. I took a nap, packed my bag and checked out.

    12 p.m. - I met Bard and we went to “freedom beach” for lunch because Troy recommended us the restaurant there. The beach was beautiful and a perfect spot to go snorkeling or relaxing. Afterwards we climbed 20 minutes to the viewpoint which was there as well. The view was breathtaking you could see freedom beach on the left side and shark bay on the right side from there.

    3 p.m. - Afterwards we went to tanote bay which was really cool as well because there is a big rock in the sea on which you can climb and do some cliff jumping.

    5 p.m. - After that we went to shark bay again and met Toby there. We went snorkeling again and this time the visibility wasn’t that bad. After a while I spotted a huge sea turtle. Suddenly there appeared another one. In total we saw seven diffraction turtle’s from small to big. It was so beautiful just watching them eating and chilling. And after a while bard spotted a Blacktip Reef Shark. It was a big one but he was really fast and it was hard to follow. And we couldn’t get a picture of him. All in all a amazing experience but I got a little cut when I got out of the water.

    7 a.m. - It got a bit late so we had a hurry. I needed to buy some new internet after that we went back to the center to bring the scooter back. Then we took a quick shower in Bard’s hostel and got dinner.

    8 a.m. - I got a free taxi ride to the pier because I went with Bard. We were early to catch the night ferry. So we finished our bad start in the day perfect.

    Summary:
    Koh Tao is a beautiful island where I could have stayed some day’s more. Furthermore the island is perfect to learn diving. There a cool dive spots for training and to see the sea-life. There are also nice spots to snorkel and it’s easy to party as well. I really enjoyed my stay there especially the diving and exploring the island by your own. All in all a very lovely island to relax but you need a scooter to get around and the weather wasn’t the best. I mean it could have been worser but I missed the sun.

    Surat Thani -> Khao Sock

    5 a.m. - We arrived in Surat Thani were it was a little bit chaotic because everyone had a different destination and we needed to wait for our bus.

    7 a.m. - Our Bus departure to Khao Sock and I slept almost the hole bus ride.

    9:30 a.m. - I arrived in Khao Sock and
    meet a group of people six people how travel together and stayed in the same hostel as me. So we shared a taxi and went to the hostel. Funnily we stayed in the same dorm as well and I joined them for brunch. While brunch I saw my first monkeys on my trip. In the afternoon everyone relaxed and took a nap. I fixed the date for my christmas accommodation because I booked from the 22.12 - 24.12 and I changed it to the 24.12 - 27.12. So let me introduce my travel buddies. There we have the males Matty, the funniest person I met so far, and Cesár, the kindest in the group. Then there are the lovely girls Nelle, Betty, Céline and Philine our mom.

    6 p.m. - We went out and booked the two day one night tour in the national park for the next day. Afterwards we ate pizza for dinner.    Leggi altro

    Khao Sock Nationalpark

    17 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    8 a.m. - I woke up and packed my small backpack for the next two days. After that we had breakfast at the place we booked our tour.

    9 a.m. - We got hooked up in a minivan and drove to other hotels to pick up some other guys. Then we continued to the entrance of the national park.

    11 a.m. - We arrived at the entrance of the national park, met our guide Nun and swichted to a longtail boat. We had a 1h boat drive trough the park where we saw the stunning beauty of the national park. Afterwards we came to our floating camp and saw the first time my bungalow for the night.

    1 p.m. - We had a great lunch buffet and had some free time where I got to know the other people a little bit better.

    2:30 p.m. - We left the village for a hike which turn out to a short waterfall hike. Nelle stayed in the camp because she didn’t felt well. The waterfall was really nice because it was kind of the sticky waterfall and the path of the hike was the waterfall itself so everything got wet. Overall we had a lot of fun and a great time. On our way back we saw even a tukan and stopped at a small floating market. Unfortunately there came a boat and they asked us wether we saw a tall guy with lots of tattoos in a kayak because he was missing. Sadly we couldn’t help searching because we were far away from our camp an the wether got worse. On our way back it began to rain and we got into a thunderstorm. Furthermore our engine stopped working because the waterpump overheated. So our situation was really fucked because we were in the middle of nowhere in a boat with a broken engine. Moreover it rained heavily and the priority of the rescue boats was the missing guy. After a while Nun fix the engine a bit and we could drove slowly but only if Philine operated the water pump manually. Somehow Cesár got service on his phone and could call Nelle how stayed in the camp and worried already about us. It was already dark but we could arrange that the camp sends a rescue boat. In the meantime we reached a small island where some locals lived. We used there shelter till the rain ended and waited for our rescue boat. This experience was fucking scary and dangerous.

    8 p.m. - We arrived finally at the camp everybody was wet and cold but glad we survived without and proper injuries. We got another great meal for dinner and went to bed early but I couldn’t sleep that well because we in the night was another heavy thunderstorm.    Leggi altro

    Khao Sock Nationalpark

    6:15 a.m - We woke up for the morning safari were we saw three elephants. But not so good because they were hiding in the jungle and it started to rain again.

    8 a.m. - We headed back to the camp for breakfast and Nun told us that the guy from yesterday sadly drowned while kayaking. Furthermore we decided to go to Krabi together and spend there our time together before everyone leaves for christmas.

    9:30 a.m. - We left the camp and went to a cave first. It was a small one but looked insane. Afterwards we went to some gram spots to take some pictures.

    12:30 p.m. - We arrived at the pier back on land and got lunch. Afterwards we met the owner and tried to explain him how he can improve his tours with safety. Unfortunately he didn’t unterstand what we wanted to explain to him.

    2 p.m. - We drove back to our hostel.

    3:30 p.m. - When we arrived back at the hostel we had no water and no electricity. So no refreshing shower. We negotiated the transport to krabi and got a private minivan for us seven. The rest of the afternoon was more or less relaxing because everyone was exhausted and it was the day of the world cup final.

    8 p.m. - We ate dinner and played a couple rounds of Uno.

    10 p.m. - We watched the world cup final Argentina vs France in a small Pub. There were almost just french people and fans. That was a little uncomfortable for me because I supported Argentina and Messi. Honestly the best final I saw so far. It was so intense and nerv wrecking.     Khao Sock -> Krabi

    19 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

    8 a.m. - Another day of traveling another day of packing your backpack.

    9 a.m. - We got some breakfast.

    10:30 a.m. - Afterwards we headed to Krabi. As usual I slept the hole ride.

    1 p.m. - We arrived in Krabi in a really nice hostel. We went for lunch before check in and made plans for the next days. Furthermore I got free cards from Céline. Now I have got finally cards to play.

    4 p.m. - Cesár, Matty and I did a mangrove tour which was decent but we had a nice chat.

    8 p.m. - In the evening I went out with matty for dinner. We went to small nightmarket where we waited long for our food but in the end it was worth it. We met up with the others and Philine showed us the real nightmarket but it was already to late because it was closed.

    10:30 p.m. - In the evening we played cactus and had a fun time.

    Summary:
    Khao Sock was awesome except of the weather and the incidents. Definitely worth to visit when you love nature and adventures.    Leggi altro

    Krabi

    20 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    8:30 a.m. - We woke up early so we had enough time for activity’s.

    10 a.m. - Céline, Cesár, Matty and I got scooters and drove to the tiger cave temple. It was a nice ride but my scooter was really fucked up especially the breaks and Matty isn’t a good co-driver because he moves consistently. Anyways we saw a lot of monkeys there and could fed them with banana’s. Furthermore we visited the temple there and had kind of a monk ritual where the sang and splashed water on us. I had absolutely no idea what it was but we got some bracelet’s afterwards. The second part of the temple was on a big rock where we had to climbed 1200 very steep steps. It was very exhausting but in the end worth it because of the view and we got a free leg and booty workout.

    12:30 p.m. - We drove back to the hostel for lunch and met up with the others.

    2:30 p.m. - In the afternoon we decided to go kayaking. The place was awesome they had sweet baby kitties and goats. Furthermore the river where we went kayaking was very beautiful. Beautiful nature and very clear water. There was even a place where you could swim with a cute little restaurant where we got some snacks.

    5:30 p.m. - We finished kayaking and drove back to the hostel to get ready for the evening.

    6:30 p.m. - I got my laundry back and Cesàr forgot his shoes so he had to drive the hole way back to get them.

    8 p.m. - This time we went to the real nightmarket but it turned out that he was really small. Anyways we tried different food for dinner and had a relaxed evening because Krabi has almost no nightlife.    Leggi altro

    Railay

    21 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

    8 a.m. - Early bells because today we went to Raily.

    10 a.m. - It took quite long until everyone got ready but we made it and we left to raily beach. Furthermore we met to other guys how joined our group today Tom and Brandon.

    11 a.m. - At first we wanted to visit a viewpoint and afterwards the blue lagoon. Unfortunately it turned out that it was a challenging climb and everyone was wearing flip flops. We still decided to do it but not everyone felt comfortable so they went to the beach instead. The climb up was quite okey but it was really muddy anyways the view was worth it. Afterwards we needed to climb down to the blue lagoon. A lot of people surrendered because it was real challenging. It was a bit like bouldering in real life without mats for a save landing. I enjoyed it because I love climbing and bouldering but it was also dangerous especially with our shoes. Furthermore the blue lagoon was gorgeous. You can not capture the beauty of this place in a picture. Basically it was a small lake surrounded by high rocks in the middle of nowhere absolutely stunning.

    1:30 p.m. - Everyone got dirty while climbing so we met the others at the Phra nang beach and cleaned our self.

    3 p.m. - We got really hungry at some point and search something for lunch. We went back to the center of Railay where all restaurants are and found something to eat. Railay reminded me a bit of Pai just with beaches and sea. There are so many hipster bars selling weed and a lot of mushroom shakes.

    4 p.m. - Afterwards we went to the famouse Railay beach and relaxed there. Honestly that beach isn’t that nice because there are so many longtail boats waiting for customers and you always hear the noise of the engine’s.

    7 p.m. - We went back to Krabi and got dinner. Afterwards we got ready for the night.

    10 p.m. - We went out to Ao Nang because it was our last night together as a group. Our hostel organized at that day a pub crawl there and we joined them without paying. It was my first time going out since I am traveling and it was a lot of fun.    Leggi altro

    Krabi

    22 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    9:30 a.m. - I woke up after 4h of sleep because it got late yesterday evening and I had a hangover. Furthermore I couldn’t sleep well because one guy in our room snored extrem loud.

    12 p.m. - Matty left early in the morning because he had to catch a flight to Vietnam. We had lunch together and played cactus. Afterwards it was time to say goodbye to Betty.

    2 p.m. - In the afternoon the rest of us went so a nice beach bar near Ao Nang. Sadly we could not swim because of the low tight but that was alright. Cesár and Philine left in the afternoon because they needed to catch there van to Koh Lanta. Now it was just Nelle, Céline and I. We enjoyed the rest of our time at the beach and I love the bar. Nice vibe, not crowded and a lovely owner, a hidden gem.

    7 p.m. - Back at the hostel I took a quick shower and went for a walk. I landed in the fresh market where I found a really good restaurant. Also a very lovely owner and good food. Afterwards I met up with the other and we played some rounds of pool am jenga .    Leggi altro

    Railay

    23 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    8:30 a.m. - I had breakfast and goodbye with Nelle and Céline in the morning.

    10 a.m. - I now again on my own and went to Railay again with a girl I met in the hostel. Today was just beach day. Laying at the beach get tanned or a bad sunburn like me. Furthermore I could read my book and had a relaxing day. I think I got sunburned because my suncream had protection 20. Later in the afternoon I explored a bit the surroundings of the beach and found a small secret beach. Furthermore I explored a cave. It was awesome and I met some german people there how smoked a joint there. Honestly a good smoking place. Later I saw a big lizard at the beach. He was easily 2m long.

    4:30 - We got lunch late and went back to Krabi after that. After the shower I saw how bad my sunburn really was. Especially my feet’s and face so I bought some aloe vera cream and a new suncream with protection 50.

    7 p.m. - For dinner I went to favorite place where I was the day before. I felt in love with all different curry’s and had already a lot but there I ate the best massaman curry so far. Afterwards I went to the bigger nightmarket because it was friday, bought some snacks and watched a fire show. Later I phoned with my family.

    Krabi -> Koh Phi Phi

    24 dicembre 2022, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    8 a.m. - I woke up and realized that my sunburn was worse than I thought. Afterwards I got breakfast in the hostel and was ready to leave.

    10 a.m. - We drove to the pier outside of Krabi and left 1h later to Ko Phi Phi.

    12:30 p.m. - I arrived in Ko Phi Phi. A very small, really touristic island and expensive island but also gorgeous. Afterwards I walked to the hostel and checked in. It was my first time staying in a party hostel. It was located directly at the beach so there was sand everywhere.

    2 p.m. - I met some UK guys and we went together for lunch. Furthermore I recognized that I didn’t felt well.

    3:30 p.m. - Afterwards I explored the center a bit. It is smaller than I thought and easy walkable.

    5 p.m. - Later I went back to hostel for a nap because I felt sick. It got a headache, limb pain, shivering etc. and it got worse by time. It was probably the worst timing for being sick at Christmas evening.

    8 p.m. - I still went out for Christmas dinner. I couldn’t enjoy it that much but it was okey. Phi Phi is known for his parties especially when there is a special event like Christmas or New Year but I was sick and went to bed. Sucks but health over everything!    Leggi altro

    Kop Phi Phi

    9 a.m. - I woke up after a restless night because of the loud music and my symptoms. However I felt a bit better than the day bevor so I did my laundry and got breakfast. The food wasn’t good and I had a mental breakdown because of my fucked up situation. Suddenly Cesár appeared. He arrived from Koh Lanta and spend a couple days an Phi Phi.

    10 a.m. - I decided to go for a small walk so I don’t waste my time completely. Somehow I ended up at a viewpoint and it wasn’t a small walk more a hike. I felt so wasted afterwards and realized that it wasn’t a good idea. However the view was amazing and I took some time to rest there. I sat there and thought about how I can recover as fast as possible. Suddenly I realized that I possibly got a sunstroke. I had the medical knowledge from my time at the ambulance and the symptoms fit. Furthermore I got a really bad sunburn two days ago. So I went to the pharmacy and bought a lot of electrolyte powder.

    12 p.m. - After that I went back to the hostel, drank a lot of electrolyte water and napped the hole afternoon.

    5 p.m. - I went for a little walk and dinner. Afterwards I back to hostel for another nap.

    8:30 p.m.- I felt way better than in the morning so I decided to go out to party without drinking. At first I went to the famous pool party. It was a Christmas special so everyone was dressed red and the even had firework. Afterwards I went to a club with a rodeo machine. There you could get a free bucket if you did it top less as a girl and naked as a boy. It was a lot of fun and I could even operate the machine. Later in the night my dutch roommate escalated completely because they were too drunk. I don’t know exactly what the did because I tried to sleep but the annoyed the whole room.

    Koh Phi Phi

    10 a.m. - I woke up felt healthy again but tired so I went for a coffee.

    11:30 a.m. - Afterwards I got early lunch because I booked a boat party in the afternoon.

    12 p.m. - Went back to the hostel and checked in for the boat party.

    2 p.m. - We left on a big boat with a lot of other people. At first we visited monkey beach a beautiful beach with a lot of cheeky monkeys. Some of them even attacked tourists but luckily the are afraid of water. The second destination was the viking cave but you can’t go inside because there are really really expensive bird nests and there is a guard how protect them. Those birds (mauersegler) build there nest’s with there spit and those nest’s are a delicacy in china. The use it in soup’s or sweets. 1kg of those nest’s can cost almost 6000€ and it’s the biggest income for Koh Phi Phi after tourism. After that we went to Maya Bay famous because of the film “The beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio. The closed the bay not long ago because the coral reef went bust of the tourist. Now they reopened it again but it’s forbidden to swim. Anyways the bay is gorgeous and if you are lucky you can see Blacktip Reef sharks. After that we continued the party, got dinner and the opportunity to jump of the boat, swim, snorkel or kayaking. At some point most of the people where very drunk and one throw up directly in the sea.

    7 p.m. - We arrived at the pier and had to hopp from boat to boat to get to the pier. Which was quite dangerous with all the drunk people so I helped a couple of them to reach the pier save. Suddenly a girl fell between two boats in the water. It was just a UK guy, some locals and I. We had to push the boat away from the other because they could have crashed together. She made it save on the boat but she lost all her belongings, passport, phone and bag. She was crying and screaming her soul out. Suddenly on of the Thai guys appeared in his scuba diving equipment and he looked for her stuff in the dark. Somehow he found everything that’s insane. Afterwards she told us she passed out for 20 seconds because she hit her head at the boat. She had a lot of luck.

    8:30 p.m. - We arrived back in the hostel and I went straight into my room. There were all the dutch people and the were really sorry about last night.

    9 p.m. - I got just two toasty’s for dinner because the dutch guys and I participated in a beer pong tournament.

    9:30 p.m. - The tournament started and we played against two UK guy’s. We had a referee but honestly the played unfair. Always the elbow over the table and I hit the last cup of the two times. The first time the blow it out correctly but the second time the ball already touched the ground and the blow it out again. So the had a long discussion with the referee and we continued playing. In the end we lost the game but anyways we didn’t care. Afterwards I went to a fighting bar where tourists could fight each other for free bucket’s. It was a lot o fun to see drunk boy’s and girls punching each other.    Leggi altro

    Koh Phi Phi -> Koh Lanta

    9:30 a.m. - I went for a refreshing morning shower and booked my transfer to Koh Lanta. Afterwards I checked out and hang around with all the hungover people.

    12 p.m. - I went for lunch and wanted some western food but it wasn’t worth. It was good but very expensive and I was still hungry in the end.

    1 p.m. - I went for a walk to the other side of the island where all the expensive resorts are.

    2 p.m. - After I got back to the hostel I relaxed with Cesár and some other Dutch guys because I was very exhausted even though I didn’t drank a lot yesterday.

    3 p.m. - I made it to the pier and on the right ferry.

    5 p.m. - I arrived in Koh Lanta and a bit later at the hostel.

    6:30 p.m. - It was already dark when I walked along the beach. There were a lot of beach bars directly at the beach and I got dinner in one of them. Afterwards I phoned with my family and watched a really nice fire show.

    9 p.m. - I went back to hostel and got to bed early.

    Summary:
    Koh Phi Phi is a very beautiful island and is supposed to be good for diving but it’s more or less a party island and very expensive. So it’s the perfect spot to party hard and have a hungover with a beautiful view. Although I was sick I had a great time there but three night’s were more than enough.    Leggi altro

    8 a.m. - My hostel provides a really good breakfast for free so I ate a lot.

    10:30 a.m. - I rented a scooter with three girls. One of them rode a scooter for the first time and that was a bit annoying because we were really slow and had to drive a long way. Furthermore I was checking my mirrors all the time and had to help her turning around and parking. On our way to the nationalpark I saw a snake and a big ass lizard in the middle of the road.

    12 p.m. - We arrived in the nationalpark all the way south of the island. We decided to do a 1h “hike” through the park were we saw Dusky Langur’s a different species of monkey’s. Afterwards we went to the beach there. It was very calm and definitely a nice beach. Furthermore there was a old lighthouse which I explored.

    3 p.m. - We left the park and went to Ba Kantiang Bay were I tried snorkeling bit the visibility wasn’t good and there was no sea life either.

    5 p.m. - We left after some fruit shakes in a nice beach bar. And arrived at the hostel perfect for sunset. So we went to the beach and had a gorgeous sunset.

    8 p.m. - Later we had dinner, in the restaurant I was the day before, with a group of 7 people which was really nice. Furthermore I saw the fire show again.

    8 a.m. - I got breakfast like every morning. I loved that because everyone in the hostel comes together and conversations start automatically.

    10 a.m. - Emma, Lucy and I wanted to go to the animal shelter. The provide tours two times a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. When we arrived they told us that both are fully booked out. We already wanted to leave and I asked them for the toilet. Afterwards I somehow managed to negotiate that we can join the morning tour. I didn’t even say a lot. Anyways we could join and everyone was happy. The problem that almost most of the islands have is that there is an absolut overpopulation for cats and dogs. Because the don’t sterilize there pets. For example 1 cat can get up to 60 kitties a year. It’s insane what numbers you get when you continue the triangle down. Furthermore the have problems with diseases and a lot of cases where animals got hurt by people. Their goal is it to sterilize and vaccinate the animals to get the population and disease’s under control. Furthermore they save animals with injuries and help them to recover. They have the possibility for X-Rays, surgeries and chemotherapy. Afterwards they want to find a new family for them. They finance it with the animal shelter tours and the cooking class which is connected to the animal shelter. It was shocking to see and hear all this stuff but also interesting at the same time. Moreover I could imagine to volunteer for some months for that type of organization.

    12 p.m. - In the afternoon I made my way to the other side of the island. Made a stop halfway for a coffee on top of the hill. Afterwards I went to the old town. Not much to see there except of the shopping road where you could by a lot of souvenirs. But there was a really cool hammock store. I love hammock’s by the way.

    2:30 p.m. - Later I went further south were I explored some fisher villages. I ended up at Pirate Beach nothing crazy but there were some guys how had a problem with their scooter. They weren’t able to start it so I tried it with kick starting and it worked first time. It was really funny because they were so thankful and I just used my brain a bit.

    4 p.m. - Later that afternoon I hooked up with Emma for kayaking. To be honest the kayak and the paddle’s were trash. So my hole clothes got wet. Furthermore it was exhausting because we went really far. Anyways we had good conversations and a fun time.

    6 p.m. - We returned and chilled a bit.

    8 p.m. - Later we seared a good restaurant for dinner and I ended up with a fish BBQ. It was really good but a bit more expensive. Worth it anyways.

    8 a.m. - The daily breakfast in the morning.

    9 a.m. - Later I went to my first yoga class. I reckoned that I am absolutely inflexible and that yoga is harder than I thought. Because you need to focus on different things at the same time. Especially the breathing part was very hard for me. But it is a good exercise and was fun so I was definitely not my last yoga class.

    11:30 a.m. - The yoga was longer than planned because of some incidents.

    12 p.m. - After lunch I went exploring the beaches and made my way to the south. The first beach I checked out was the Nui beach. A smaller one but definitely beautiful, very calm and you have shade. Furthermore I saw many crabs also some with shell house’s. Later I found a café completely abroad somewhere in the wild. There was no proper road just a path and some signs. The offered homemade cake and coffee in their living room and garden. Really cozy vibe with all the plant’s and chickens outside. Between the name of their cat is Latte. I got a chocolate salted caramel cake which was really good. Afterwards I continued exploring and checked the Why not bar out because they advertised there new year’s party everywhere. Later I went to Nui Bay which was absolut gorgeous. Probably my favorite beach but there was a lot of rubbish and monkey’s. Those suckers steal bags and attack sometimes the people. I hate them. Afterwards I went to the Khlong Chak beach where I found a nice reggae bar. I drank a coconut and chilled a bit there. For sunset I wanted to go to Bamboo beach but it was disappointing when I arrived there so I went back to the reggae bar.

    5:30 p.m. - I had a small little hut where I smoked a bit of my new years joint already and watched the beautiful sunset.

    7 p.m. - On the wat back to the hostel I stopped at the restaurant where I got lunch and ate dinner. Afterwards I made another stop at a tattoo shop because I thought about getting a tattoo and discussed my idea with him. I wasn’t sure so we agreed that I can come on Sunday to get the tattoo.     8 a.m. - The daily morning routine with breakfast and chatting with people.

    11:30 a.m. - I had no plans for the day so I left for beach day and went to Nui Beach. I chilled there a bit and did nothing.

    4 p.m. - Later I went to the café from yesterday for coffee and cake. Furthermore we got a free seafood BBQ and spring rolls from the lovely owner’s. There I met a UK guy who used to live in Lissabon. He told me some heavy shit about his life. I had no idea what was true and what not but he told me from his drug business in Lissabon and about his life as a DJ about women, drugs and sex.

    5:30 p.m. - I went back to the beach and got dinner there for sunset. Furthermore I phoned with my family and decided that I don’t really want that tattoo.

    7:30 p.m. - Our hostel provided free alcohol for all until ten because of new year’s. Everyone came together and chatted it wasn’t a party more a cozy vibe. Later everyone split up in groups and I joined the group which stayed at the beach around the hostel. So our group switched to the beach and chilled there until 12 a.m. The hole beach was full of fireworks and lantern’s it looked amazing. Everyone wished a happy new year and I smoked a new years joint with some germans. I was high for two and we went into a beach club. I had the time of my life with them until I got approached three times from thai women later. That was the point when it got weird. It was late anyways so I went back to sleep.

    9:30 a.m. - I woke up really hungover so the day wasn’t spectacular.

    11 a.m. - I went to the beach just to chill and recover but it was really hard to find shade there and I didn’t wanted a sunburn again.

    3 p.m. - I went to a strandbar and got a fresh coconut and coffee. Slowly I was alive again.

    8 a.m. - I packed my backpack in the morning and got a last time the delicious breakfast.

    10 a.m. - My pick up to the pier was delayed and I worried already that I miss my boat. But when I arrived at the pier there was chaos and I had to wait again for the boat. It was annoying but in the end everything worked out.

    2 p.m. - I arrived in Koh Lipe and went for a walk to explore the island and to check out the stuff you can do here. Because this is my last destination in Thailand before I go to Malaysia and I needed to calculate how much money I need. Later I got dinner and watched another beautiful sunset. Afterwards I met three Malaysian guys. They already gave me tips for Malaysia and thought me some words but I can’t remember.

    8 p.m. - I got back for a shower and chilled the rest of the evening in the hostel.

    Summary:
    Koh Lanta is a very chilled island perfect for relaxing. There are a lot of nice beaches and there is also a lot to explore but you need a scooter because the ways are very far. That shouldn’t be a problem because the traffic isn’t to bad and it’s always nice to drive a scooter. Furthermore there are a lot of beach bars and café’s where you can enjoy great sunsets.     Koh Lipe

    7:30 a.m. - I woke up and booked a snorkel tour for today.

    9 a.m. - After breakfast I met up at the office for the snorkel tour. We were a small group of six people. At first we went to Koh Hin Sorn to see different rock formations. The second spot was around Koh Bulu. At the first snorkel spot there were a lot of soft corals. Amazing underwater world and I was lucky to see a water snake. She was black and gray striped and so beautiful. At the second snorkel spot there were a lot of hard corals and I saw my first real clownfish and a sea star.

    12 p.m. - We got lunch at Monkey Beach on Koh Tong and relaxed there for a bit. Afterwards we went to the third snorkel spot but there was nothing special or anything I didn’t saw before. The next destination was Koh Hin Ngam a mysterious island build out of thousands of smoothly polished black stones. The fourth snorkel spot called Jabang was amazing. There I saw beautiful blue and red coral but there were a lot of tourists in life jackets because they could not swim. Furthermore the current was strong and everyone hold up to the ropes so it was sadly a mess.
    At small realtalk many people don’t respect the sea life. Rule number one in the sea is don’t touch or pick up anything JUST LOOK!! I saw same people how picked up a sea star another one stand on the coral’s. Honestly I don’t fucking get it and people wonder why the coral reefs go bust.

    4 p.m. - After we got back I went to a café and got some coffee.

    5:30 p.m. - Later I went back to my accommodation, took a shower and reckoned the sunburn on my back.

    7 p.m. - I met Emma in my hostel. I first met her in Koh Tao and later in Koh Lanta and no again in Koh Lipe. I love that. After that nice chat I went out for dinner and a night walk at the beach where I watched lightning’s in the open sea. Looked fucking sick.

    9:30 p.m. - Afterwards I met up with Emma and Ellis her friend in a bar. We had some drinks and played a pool drink game. I am a really bad pool player and lost almost every round.

    P.S.: The water quality and visibility is insane. So perfect for snorkeling and diving.    Leggi altro
