Auf in den Nahen Osten/Tel Aviv, Israel

    September 7 in Israel ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

    Shabbat Shalom,

    Stephi&Chris

    Tel Aviv, Neve Tzedek

    November 23 in Israel ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

After walking for a good half an hour along the beach, we turn left and enter the heart of the city. What we see couldn't be farther away from our expectations: modest and ruined Arabic-looking houses are the norm, with the only exception of some random modern skyscrapers that stretch out into the sky.

The world-renowned Camel Market itself (unfortunately closed today) also reminds me of a bazaar in Middle-Eastern or Maghrebi town. We proceed through narrow alleys alternating murals and fancy restaurants, until we reach the "Old Train Station", one of the most hipster areas of the city and, most importantly, the starting point of our scavenger hunt! 🤩

    Tel Aviv, Treasure Hunt

    November 23 in Israel ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

The Old Train Station is, as the name hints, an old railway station now turned into a fancy area with bars, restaurants and shops. After having a look around, we decide to start our long-awaited adventure: Ludo's birthday present... The scavenger hunt in Tel Aviv and Jaffa!

It takes us a while to understand how to make the whole thing work, but after a few minutes our apps are set, Google Maps is active and we are ready to go!
The whole concept revolves around finding specific places (the quicker the better) and then do some activities and answer some questions (werhin 2 minutes!), the answers of which can only be found by observing a monument or standing in a specific place.

After solving a couple of quizzes on the Old Train Station, we are asked to move back to the beach promenade and find the Etzel Museum. Finding the building itself is pretty easy, but the same doesn't apply to the statues and poles we are supposed to discover... 🙄
I hate to say it, but this scavenger might be a bit too challenging than we thought...
