Monday was a nice quiet day with a trip to see a movie and then to meet up with my nephew and his wife for dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant.
I gave the phone a rest!
We had originally planned to go for a hike in a rainforest reserve on Mt Glorious, but it turned out to be closed for track maintenance. So we had a nice lunch in the local cafe. The road up to MtLæs mere
On my final day, we went to the "new" botanical gardens, which are on the slopes of Mt Coot-Tha. After walking around through the many acres of plantings arranged by geographic regions of the world,Læs mere
Rejsende Num! Num! Iced coffee as it should be--poured over ice cream and with freshly whipped cream on top. The friends I was staying with joined us for lunch, as well. That's Pete's fair dinkum Aussie Akubra hat behind the baseball cap my great-nephew gave me!
Rejsende From the cafe, we walked back to catch the Bulimba ferry into the city. On the way, we passed the local cricket ground, which is edged by pandanus trees. The aerial roots have been protected with PVC tubing, which the community has then decorated.
