Set off from tamarindo on saturday to find new adventures in more remote places and explore this beautiful country. Though the "city" was a good place to get my legs under me. I am here to enjoy the culture not the tourists Read more

    Santa Teresa

    November 21, 2022 in Costa Rica ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

After spending 8 weeks in tamarindo enjoying all that the surrounding areas have to offer and going to school for spanish. I am ready to blow this popcicle stand.
Tamarindo was fun in its own ways but became a repetative cycle of school surf, and night life. Also it is a very expensive town. I enjoyed surfing wether it was raining or blue skys. The beach was good. Same faces grinding everyday though. The earlier you get up do your routine and get to bed the better. The night life can get a lil crazy.
There was very fun activities to do within a few hrs.

Before leaving Tamarindo. I met a few very sweet ladies who decided to join me as i headed south. Our first stop was santa teresa. Where we found a cute ABNB. It came with a gaurd dog we named charlie. And a cat we named kitler (due to the tiny black mustache it had). We also had a bird visit us. (That did not end well)

The weather could have been better but the beaches were still very nice. The surf was much bigger than I was ready for. After spending 1 hr getting my ass kicked. I had to humbly call it quits. Though I will be back once my skills improve. Overall santa teresa was good for the short 2 days we were there

Last days in the nicoya pen.

    November 24, 2022 in Costa Rica ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Traveling down from santa teresa we stopped in Montezuma for 2 days. What a beautiful place it was. A very cute little puebla, with shops and great dining.
Just west was a river with 3 amazing waterfalls, a few cliff to jump from and great pools to relax in. The walk was short, winding back and forth across the river. With roots winding across the jungle floor.

Just east was an amazing waterfall that spilled into the ocean. Breaking over the rocks below. A prestine beach to one side where you can really let it all hang out. 😉 The hike there was short and easy, also very rewarding.

Arriving in Paquera a sweet little puebla on the east side of the peninsula. We found a great guide that showed us the biolumenesence of ocean. A must do. (Eddies bio..)

The past few days in this area have really been what i imagined costa rica to be. Cheerz

    Uvita

    November 29, 2022 in Costa Rica ⋅ 🌧 24 °C

We boarded the ferry and made our way over to Puntarenas. After docking we headed south to Jaco. (I was told it was not a great place) however much to my suprise i found it to be fantastic. It may have had something to do with the awesome hostel we found. (Jaco inn) we made friends with the owner Juan and went surfing with them the next day.
The surf was incredible. Consistant waves with a decent swell made for one of the best days of surfing i have ever had. After the surf Juan suggested we have dinner at a small resturant. Bragging that it was the best seafood. He was not lying. It was top notch. Poke poke poke please.

Next we were on our way to manuel antonio. The hostel we booked ended up being really sketchy. We got scammed but got our money back.
Just a few miles up the road we found a great hostel with fantastic staff/volunteers. And met some great fellow travelers.
We went to a really cool falls called nauyaca falls. Sweating our asses off on the hike in. We were really looking forward to swimming. However when we finally made it to the falls we were told there was a stom in the mountains that made the river to dangerous.
Storm in the mountains. Well that storm quickly made it to us and we did not need to swim any more as we were completly soaked in a few minutes. The path back became a river. Though we were soaked it was refreshing and fun. The day was exausting and we had no energy to doo the night tour at the park so we stayed in. It was the best night i had in costa.

The next day we made our last breakfast as a crew. And went to the manuel antonio beach. To relax. We were visited by monkeys and a slougth it was fantastic. I am now in Uvita ready for some more adventure.
