Small industrial & fishing harbour north of Porto and along the Atlantic coast. Funny mixture of old and run down and new. Easy reach of Porto by bus or metro.
Mixed feelings about Porto. There are some very nice buildings spread out over a large area. And it is very up and down. The public transport is excellent and a great way of getting around.
We have done very well with the weather. Sunny but cold and a bit windy at times.

Traveler Agreed - about things to see in the poorer regions, that is. But do go to Fatima - just to see religious tourism at its most extreme! I thought that such practices had died out, but not there!
Traveler Oh, but I forgot - you’ve been to Lourdes, and lit a candle! In Fatima, you can buy a wax replica of a body part that is troubling you and cast it into an inferno, but don’t be too optimistic!
