    Yellowstone - Old Faithful

July 6, 2017 in the United States

Alle ca. 60 bis 90 Minuten bricht der Old Faithful Geysir aus und spritzt dann bis zu 50m hoch.
Mega beeindruckendes Spektakel, was man leider mit bestimmt 1000 Menschen teilt.
Damit man dem Gedränge aus dem Weg geht, würde ich immer empfehlen sich auf die andere Seite vom Visitor Center zu stellen.

    Old Faithful Eruption!

August 10, 2017 in the United States

Old Faithful certainly was faithful today! We had a great view of the geyser going off and everyone loved it. After, we walked the boardwalk around the pots of bubbling water. Patrick thought there was lava everywhere.

Big kids went for an extra 1/2 mile hike to the top of an observation point where they could see Old Faithful.

    Everyone earned lunch today!!!

    Madison Campground, Day 2

August 31, 2017 in the United States

We decided to start the day at the Old Faithful Inn today. It was built in the winter between 1903-1904 and is made of local materials, stone and logs. We sat in the grand lobby and marveled at the high beams and natural wood. Truly a beautiful sight.

Fishing Bridge CG and Old Faithful

May 18, 2017 in the United States

We stayed at Fishing Bridge CG. When we arrived, there was no power and the water was going to be turned off due to pipes breaking. We put the teardrop in our snowy site and decided to visit Old Faithful. On the way, on the other side of Fishing Bridge, were some bison on a ridge. We parked and got out of the car to take pictures. Next thing you know is that the bison are on the road and crossing the bridge, as Jackie is keeping me between the bison and herself.
After getting to Old Faithful, we froze while waiting for it to erupt.
We also visited inside the historic hotel, which had a great room 4-5 stories high, with interesting tree limbs for support.

    Yellowstone National Park

July 8, 2016 in the United States

Yellowstone is beautiful, & huge, & there is way too much to see in a day!! There are also way too many people trying to see it. As a guy we met at the astronomy talk last night put it, "Yellowstone is the Disneyland of National Parks." We got there early and saw Old Faithful erupt before the big crowds hit, but since it was still so cold out, most of the water turned to steam. Then we went to the Midway Geyser Basin and saw the Grand Prismatic, which was AMAZING! We tried to make it over to Mammoth Hot Springs, but by then there was too much traffic & it was at the other end of the park, so we cut across to the Canyon Area to see the falls & the "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone". The we made a loop back around the park to the Biscuit Basin for a hike. On the way we saw geese, swans, bison, elk, and LOTS of stopped cars & people. We made it to Biscuit Basin, saw more cool geysers, & hiked the Mystic Falls Trail to an awesome waterfall flanked by hot springs! Then we called it a day, as the traffic was getting worse & rain clouds were moving in.Read more
