    Wattamolla

    October 14, 2016 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 13 °C

My first night in the car was different than a hostel. It was a bit harder but I survived. Was a few times awake. What Im normally not am.

I drove to the royal national park and all the toll gates were closed. So just drive along. I stopped at at some viewing point. Then to a beach, it was nice over there.

Then I went to Wattamolla, that was so awesome! Real good! There was a lake that's sometimes connected with the sea. It was so nice there and there was almost no wind and that made the temperature so much better. I jumped also off an cliff of 6 meters high I guess, that was so cool to do! The movie is coming soon! It was a paradise over there.

In the evening I drove to the village in the top of royal national park where I met 2 other backpackers. They were cooking spaghetti. I talked to them and they asked me If I wanna join them. So I did. We went to the 'balcony' that are a lot of rocks that looks like a lot of balcony's. And we ate there with view on the sea. Afterwards we were chilling underneath a rock and watched the sunset, light bulb of Sydney and the moon. Is was a good evening!

    figure of eight pools

    October 15, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Today I woke up @ 6:00 to watch the sunrise. That was very beautiful and cold. I had 2 vests and it was still cold. Then I hiked for like 2 hours and found some abandoned cave house. That was so cool to see! Look at the view from the window. I also saw the first wild Kangaroo! Look for it in the picture with bushes. Leave a comment if you find it.

Then I drove to an other car park and hiked to the burning palms beach, that was only a few km but it was intense. Next to the beach you could walk over an sidewalk of the rocks to the figure of eight pools. One side was a cliff other side was the sea. The sidewalk was 10 meters wide and the water was splashing over the sidewalk. That was so cool!. The hike was over rocks and stuff, there was no walking path so a lot of jumping from one rock to the other. The pools were so great! Just a natural bathtub witch is almost 2 meters deep and 1.5 meter diagonally. In the pools where living corals, really special to see. When I arrived to my car I hiked enough for today (almost 5 hours). I used the stove for the first time making the best backpack meal ever! NOODELS! Haha.

Now see if I can sleep somewhere and see what I'm doing tomorrow.

    surfcamp!

    October 21, 2016 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 18 °C

Hi guys! Finally learning to surf! Exited, yeah!. I had to be 11:30 @ surfcamp at latest. I couldn't find it straight away so I was exactly on time on surfcamp and nobody was there. So most times are ish over here. We were sleeping in a few bungalows around an central sitting place. It was very cool. We could fit an wetsuit after lunch and go surfing straight away.

We had to walk 10 minutes to the beach. We had some explanation of surfing. The surf check is important to look at the surfing conditions. Also how to stand up on the board is pretty handy with surfing :-P. After warming up we went into the water.

The first time was pretty hard to stand up and I had to take some time to do all the movements right. But after an hour I could stand up on my board. That was so cool!

In the evening we had some drinks and did some beer pong and ofcourse perudo! Best game ever.

The next days we had different surfing Conditions and I could stand up more quickly and did even some tricks! Every evening we went to the beach to party. This was so awsome week! Maybe after a while I'll do again some days of surfcamp!

And because I had a car I did a beer run. Not as big as campzone but still worth it:-P.

Now searching for a own Surfboard and wetsuit. Next stop is the dropzone to do some more jumps this week, and hopefully finish my a license!

Photos are coming in a few days! PHOTOS ARE ADDED!

    4wd track

    October 22, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 6 °C

There was a lot of lightning and rain last night. I stayed pretty long in My car. I tried to find the earplugs for the thunder. But couldn't find them. I searched the hole car and still couldn't find it. So I went back to surfcamp and couldn't find it there either. So that was a good start of my day (not)... But no worries nobody died.

I wanted to get some stuff for my car and get some food. I got stuck with fitzroy falls. I hiked over there to see some waterfalls, it was pretty cool. Especially the waterfall on the cave! When I was hiking I saw an 4wd road. I went back to my car and took that road (movie is coming). The woman from the information desk sad I might have to turn around at the end because of the rain last night. I drove all the way to the end without any troubles, it was a lot of fun.

A Kilometer further an other 4wd track appears, I took the track. This was a bit more difficult than the one before. I used a piece of wood to see how deep the puddle of water was. And mostly it was not so deep. One puddle was just as deep as the bottom of the car completely touched the water. And unfortunately I hesitatet with one puddle to drive trough it. I wished I haven't done it. Unfortunately I got stuck. So tried some things to get out but got no luck. So I started walking and running back. Went to a few houses and finally after 45 minutes(35 minutes walking and running on the track) I found a house where somebody was home. I asked her if she could help me. But she hadn't an rope or chain to pull me out. She called pete (an neighbor) and asked if he got an rope or chain. And he wanted to pull me out with his tractor. She drove me to his shed and there Pete was getting some stuff to dig me out if it was necessary. I sad on the tractor and when we got @ the car. It was only a few seconds and I was out of the puddle. I thanked Pete for his help. The people are so nice and helpful here.

I drove back to the road and headed to an village with the aldi!. In between I stopped. When I would head off I tried to start the motor and heard a bang, than screaming sound and a lot of smoke coming from the hood. I thought nooooo you got to be kidding me. So I turned off the motor and tried again. Then I went looking under the hood and found a broken vbelt of the power steering. So I removed It and started the motor again. So now car driving is a workout for my arms. I'm gonna fix it next week. I think all the shopping centers for those things are closed.

So afterall I had a perfect day! It was raining, lost my ear plugs, got stuck with my car and v-belt of power steering has broken. Pff, but it was an good story for this blog.

    skydiving in- and outdoor

    October 24, 2016 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

Today I did 2 skydives. Two times STAGE 3. And I have to repeat it because I was all the time turning and could stay put. My landings where a bit rough. One was a belly slide. But luckily I survived :-P. I could feel my heel a bit but it's not to bad.

One instructor said to me that it's cheaper to do some indoor skydiving to practice my body position. So I drove to the indoor skydive center and did like equal free fall time of 14 jumps. So thats a lot of practice. At the beginning I was turning but at the end I managed to control my movements. So hopefully I'll manage to finish my AFF course this week depending on the wind.

I spoke to an skydive instructor at the indoor skydive center and we talked about skydiving and surfing. He said he had a board for me 7'2 feet. So perfect for beginner as me and he wants 250 for it so that's good. Now only a wetsuit.

Now eating a very nice burger! And heading back to the dropzone.

    another day of waiting...

    October 25, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Today the wind was good in the morning. But I had to wait until the instructors woke up. And after a while I heard no plane. And they couldn't get their plane running. So we waited a long time. Some people who should do a tandem they just went back to Sydney. So sad!. In the afternoon they brought an other plane from the Newcastle dropzone to do the last tandems today.

I was lucky to get up today to do my stage 3! It went wel and I didn't have that much time but just enough to pass the stage 3! Yeah stage 4 up next! The indoor skydiving definitely helped. :D

    good skydive day

    October 26, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Today was a perfect day to skydive! 30 degrees and almost no wind.

I started with my stage 4. Jump out of the plane with 1 JM. Then just assuming box position and watching alti. Landing was also good, I only had to walk a bit far becouse I landed behind the target.

Next was stage 5. Also 1 JM on the side and he came up front and I had to do a 360 turn. Then docking (touch the JM). Another 360 and docking. But I didn't had time for docking. So I turned 180 degrees and deployed my Parachute. The flying with canopy was also good and landing good

Next stage 6. Because of traffic control we couldn't get any higher than 8000 feet (normal 13500) so that's pretty low. This was my first solo exit!. I stabilized and did one 360 turn. And then I had to deploy my Parachute. Also good canopy control and good landing.

    Video of stage 6:
    https://youtu.be/wJDydf2M8Q4

Next stage 7. Also solo exit. After exit stabilize and do a backflip. The main reason is to become unstable and stable again. I did the backflip and then was a bit wobbly and stabilized. After that I had to do some tracking. So arms backwards and move forwards. Then be In a box position and I had to deploy my Parachute directly. I had to turn @ 5000 ft and deploy @ 4500ft. And when I watched my alti I was already @ 4500ft. Then thesame as the stages before, good canopy control and good landing.

With 4 jumps and all stages completed it was a very good day!

Afterwards I ate some noodles and watched with some other guys some cartoons. It was Rick and morty, what a awsome cartoon, completely insane Haha. Next me and a few other guys went for a hike and walked over a closed half burned bridge and did some chilling. There was also a big bee hive. Really cool to see.

shitty weather day, and 1st Surfboard!

    October 28, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Today when I woke up, there where clouds and very light rain. And you can jump only with b license or higher. So no jumping for me.

I started to replace my belts of my car. When I replaced them I started the car. Again smoke and lots of noise. So I dismounted the powersteering belt. And I found the main issue. The pump itself was broken. So pretty shit beginning of the day.

I had a nice warm shower, ate something and got my car ready to drive. I drove to an mechanic. And he said. O no not for that car.. He made some calls and he probably could fix it for $900. Ai that's a lot of money. He directed me to an other shop. They had an used pump for me. It I'll cost me $530. I went to another shop. And he could do it maybe for 300 a 400 so that's a better price. But I have to come back on Tuesday.

Afterwards I went to the mall to get some straps to strap the Surfboard on the roof racks. And o went to a friend. He had a great coloured Surfboard for me. So I got my first Surfboard! Can't wait to surf on it! :D I only need some wax for it.

Tomorrow heading to the blue Mountains. (sorry I didn't washed my car yet...) I found something for you Berry, 1m toblerone!
