    Venice

    April 10 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Our Passports Inspection was not too bad ... I was ready with all my documentation for any Kind of attck! He requested our proof of accommodation! Next was pulling our bags and finding the public boat station ticket office. Not bad for Venice 30 euros for two ...Marked properly in colours and getting to the station is a walk with ur bags in hand ...Getting into the boat with the windows very high above the seat was an exciting for me ...Thinking of my tall son in law, Vicks and our short daring Shaks ...but we enjoyed the ride! We had to pass our Hotel and walked back from the Boat station. Rosh, my spouse and partner in life always travel light with a bag of 13.3 kg cluding a bag protector and I this time managed to carry 16.8 kg bag with a napsack of 4.2kg ...carrying a book by Rick Steves is like carrying a thick bible. All my electonic gear like hearing aid charger chargers for cells and electronic tooth brush with samsung tablet for playing my sudoko and reading all juck mail my sugar testing machine with electric shaver....!!! We got to our hotel at 15hr30 ....This is when I think of daring Swast finding the bag keys and unlocking the bags.
Reading rick steves book is another inspiration, and Avinash and Suren are my two others to travel without a Travel package ....thanks guys ...Sangita Bhabhi and Rishi bhai thanks for the good wishes ..I am wearing the gold bracelet which does not add to my electonics gadgets ! Lol. Explored a bit in the evening and went to spar to purchase tv snacks ...had an early night after the jetlag ....Room was very peaceful without those blood suckers ...we lucky to have a room with windows and there is a sticker on the window ...keep windows closed to avoid mosquitoes...the Venice fresh air i to the room was cool !!! Wishing all a fantastic Ram week ...Jai shree ram ....

    April 10 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Exploring Venice in the rain 🌧 We managed to get out at 10 and still bit cool .14 degrees 😎I remembered to pick up a map from the hotel reception ! Hotel Carnival Palace is really serious about saving our planet, even their face soap is vegetarian... vegetable soap!!! We walked to the railway station to purchase our rail tickets to Florence for Friday. We had the best pizza and coffee on the way from a Chinese owned little café. I love to shower in the rain, so walking in the rain was just another inspiration to enjoy the moments. We managed to get to Piazza San Marco and Doge's Palace. We covered 17200 steps today !!! I managed to get my sugar rush intake, passing a melting chocolate shop. Their rice is also coated with chocolate!!! Back at Hotel Carnival . Eid Mubarak to my brothers celebrating Eid . I pay my gratitude to' findpengiuns' editor to make this blog possible ...Thank u and your team.Read more

    Lovely day in venice

    April 11 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

We had the hotel breakfast today and were on the hop at 11. It's a good sunny day on a thursday 😎.we visited the church.... and on way i visited another one ....so its was holly day for me .....in Venice no cars or motor cycles to worry about and the public transport drivers were on a peaceful strike so a lot of public transport did not take place ....talking about the Public boat ..... Venice a city that takes a shape of a fish with 5 sections ....yet we call Venice a city of love and truely it is ...everone is on a go slow even without a strike and eveythings takes its own pace. No rush.! While getting back to our Hotel its normal to get lost and not take the same route, so we met a student who also studies Sankrit and Hindi at the Varsity! ....Today i tried a galeto, so I hope my stomach accepts, non dairy my stepes counted today was already 12000 ...so its one more stay in Venine ...one more stay as my lovely angel grand daughter Heeranya would say .luv my grand kids ....Read more

    Leaving Venezia for Firenze

    April 11 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

We checked out early and had coffee at our famous coffee shop half way stop on the way to the station...Poped in at the church next to the rail station. Received my blessing.! We waited for the train to get in the station as we were excited and early. However, only 15 before the scheduled time, the allocation was displayed on the billboard .We had allocated seats and found our seat easy. Storing heavy bags on the storged compartment above the seat indicates carry light again ! Two hours and 15 mins on the leather seats were comforting . This was in deed a speed train trevelling 135 km ,which reminded me of my driving some times on the open roads! A bullet train I have seen on movies now sitting in one !!! We got off at the station at Florence.I choose a hotel near the station and we walked to our hotel.Venice was a lovable city on water and now we managed to see the city as we have seen it in the movies. The lagent of many artists still live on. Being an island, everything must be imported, and that becomes costly....no cars or motorbikes to drive the tourist crazy! Goodbye Venezia....hope to see u againRead more

    Looking for the gold forin

    April 13 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 20 °C

Yesterday, after check-in, we searched an indian restaurant and had a fantasic curry with chapaties . After late lunch we explored a bit and had a early evening back to our hotel...When I Booked this time round I booked directly to the hotel via internet and when we got to the hotel they were busy with revovations .
At first, i wanted to cancel but could not find a decent hotel at that moment ....booking.com and adago would have been better... but then the owner assured me that the contractors would go away and be back on monday ...he was also part of the contracting persons being the owner!!! Only 42 years old, so I let him off the hook ...l was only concerned about the noise, but all was good and everybody happy again ! .We enjoy a brand new upgraded room and bathroom !!! Today, we had a continental light breakfast and then was out and about. Our visit to Duomo ay visitors, and the ques were long . We managed to escape and hit the hop on off the bus and enjoyed the ride getting on and off the bus. I did not find the Gold Forin to add to my small collection of gold coins and madeliums. Instead, we fond micheal angilo statue . I also discovered a foot ball museum and found a few pizzalos ...Back at the San Marina Nevello rail wherf, we got the bus stop. This makes u think of our lives and how you are here on this lovely earth full of everything ... The bus keeps moving, and we should just enjoy the ride hop on and off through our meditation . When we are ready to part ... we should leave with dignity and not hold onto our material belongings ...we enter the moving bus enjoy the ride and leave...but fail to undrestand we should not stay longer than our ticket permits ...lol

    Our visit to Villa Vrindavana

    April 14 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Today was a special day for our angel,Heeranya, and we managed to sing happy birthday to her. She was so thankful for the presents we left for her before leaving on our trip......We embarked on going to the Iskcon temple Villa Vrindavana, which is about 15 km from Florance. You have to take a tram for two stations and board a bus for 9 stations. We had to walk 2.5 km uphill, which was challenging for but received a warm welcome at the Villa....After our abeyance at the altar, we joined the devotes for a lunch feast . Stayed for the evening program where the devoties sing and chant the hare krishna mantra near the cows, and they then walk to the stable. They, the cows, follow a protocol. First, the bull
named Krishna, goes toward to stable, followed my Dharma, and the rest of the crew with a calf . They enjoy the chanting and pampering from the visiting guest .We joined in the chanting and dancing outside the stable and followed the devotes to the temple, chanting all the way....The evening satsang was fantasic then came thd evening feast!!! One kind devotee gave us a lift back to Florence station, and in a few minutes, we were back into our cozy room. What a lovely day . The maha mantra chanted is : 16 celebyes ..8 each as a meter ....Hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare.Hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare. Enjoy chanting! 😉

    Florence Departure

    April 15 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

We got to the station early, so with an open train ticket and boarded an earlier train to La spezia at 10hr50 Unfortunately, I could not find the Gold Florence 😑 .! I may have to go back to Florence . There is too much to see in Florence. The train was pretty full, but we were seated comfortably. Before u board the train, u have to scan your ticket at the entrance of the platform.! You learn all this as you go along ! After Pisa station, the train was half empty ! Our entrance to the rented flat was a smooth one with all the instructions given to open the little box outside the complex with a lockable number. The flat is very clean on the 2nd floor with no lifts.! We did our washing and explored the city entre. Plenty branded shops. After a coffee and pissa, I talked to the Harbor and walked back . We now had time to plan the days ahead ! We had our late tea at the unit .Enjoyed the 📺.Aum namah ShivayaRead more

    5 Cinque Terre

    April 16 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

We managed to get out and about with the temperature of 15 degrees today, but the sun was intense. We enjoyed a caffee at a local coffee shop on route to the station. I confirmed our hotel accommodation directly for Thursday and 3 other sleeps today only and purchased our train ticket to Genoa for Thursdays ride.... 😀....We also purchased a day pass ticket to explore the 5 Cinque Terre villages on the East coast of Italy , which are the 5 main villages .No motor vehicles are allowed !! We went to the furthest coast up north and then came back south one village at a time ! Each addictively photogenic village is but a hive of lazy relaxation of people enjoying the local wine and coffee !No stray dogs or cats and no rats !!!! Plenty fish in the ocean!!!:.Each one has its own theme, so you have to start early as the trains become busy as the day goes by . What awesome places along the beach ⛱️ . The water was a bit cold but some crasy people enjoyed the waves. I counted the waves instead !!! The trains were delayed at all 5 stations. The train ride is just a few minutes apart from each other, and the first one goes through a long tunnel in the mountain. This is a paradise for those who like hiking. For those who enjoy a boat ride , they can relax and watch the sun set on the east ocean !!! You can even hire a captain to ferry you between the villages on a private boat. Everything is possible depending on your budget!!! We got back as the sun was setting at 7 pm as we passed a vegan cafe. I noticed a lot of vegan and gluten-free choices at cafes and coffee shops. The espresso is great ! Pissa is fantasic at certain places with different fillings ! The local wines are smooth and good. plenty of walking!!
JUST a place for me !!!
