A truly spectacular day.... up some goat track in the Pyrenees the GPS sent us too & then a big walk up to the Col.

After our lovely swim we went to Avignon... home to the Papacy for a while.
The old walled city is gorgeous & absolutely buzzing with a sort of Art Festival.

Up pretty early to get Dixie & Terry to Marseille airport for their flight to NYC.
Then into Marseille....easier to drive in than I thought it would be...to Port Vieux. We had a little more breakfastWeiterlesen
Woke up in Antibes & delivered the car to Nice Airport. Found there was a bus to Monaco so grabbed that.... a pretty good trip. The area is quite hilly & so we went through lots of tunnels.

Had read about a market in Le Spezia so headed there.....it was frantic & fun....lots of clothes, linen, kitchen... all pretty much the same good fun.

We got organised early to get the train south...Nicky & girls straight to Pisa and us to Lucca.
Unfortunately our train was late so we had an enforced stop in Viareggio...we went for a walk, had aWeiterlesen
We made it to Pusa around 4.30 & found our hotel & watched the last couple of riders in the Tour time trial...great viewing.
We met the others for a quick snack & then wandered up to the Tower...greatWeiterlesen
Up way too early to get to the ferry...ready by 5am!!
Lovely ferry ride....sat in deck chairs & watched world go by.
Bastia is BIG!! Not quite what I expected.
