    Day 78 Dromana, (Home)

    June 30, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Today was a long driving day considering that we are now in Victoria and are only 9 hours away from home in Dromana.
First thing we did in the morning was pack up the caravan for the 42nd and last time of the trip.
The first town we stopped in after Mildura was Lascelles where we checked out some cool silo art of a local farming couple called Geoff & Merrilyn Horman. Their family has been farming in the area for generations.
After Lascelles we stopped by a nice little town called St Arnaud to have lunch. On the way out of town we were held up by a herd of dairy cows getting walked down the main road for milking. We have seen every sort of animal on this trip!
For the rest of the day we were driving.
After more than 17,000 km, 4 states, 1 Territory and crossing 3 time zones, we finally arrived back home.

    Melbourne; Mornington Peninsula

    January 19, 2019 in Australia

Survived Melbourne and its 5 million people and now headed out on the road. Rain thwarted our cycling plans on our last day in the city...good the city's so walkable.  Nice hanging out watching Federer in the big screen in Fed(eration) appropriate 😉...and chatting with visiting Aussie fans.  Melbourne...big city, lots of huge towers...including tallest residential tower in the world, lots of green space...very friendly).

And we survived our first day driving on the left. Daryl at the wheel only used the wipers once as a turn signal 😂  Cindy navigating barely avoided the toll road. Bought our eskie (cooler)...ready for our road trip.

Out to the Mornington Peninsula...miles and miles of beaches just south of the city. Cute little towns, some more tiddly than others. Water was cold but nice...enjoyed it until I remembered where I was and hightailed it back to the beach.  Lots of nasty things in Aus they say, tho we haven't been bothered yet... Also haven't seen a kangaroo...Daryl promised me they're everywhere 🙄.
