Rejsende Really interesting! Talk about "Historically dense"! What was the bearded man wall sculpture?
Rejsende It is called "Masque de Sélène" mask of Selene and is made of bronze. For Selene, I believe we have to dive into Greek Mythology with will tell us that she, also called Mene, or Latin Luna, was the goddess of the moon, or the moon personified into a divine being. She is called a daughter of Hyperion and Theia, and accordingly, a sister of Helios and Eos
Rejsende Thanks to you, I learned Selene is the Greek proper name of the moon. Thanks
Rejsende As always you are too kind 😘
