  • 🏛️Karakuş Tumulus

    In the afternoon, we visited Karakuş Tumulus, an impressive burial monument from the ancient Kingdom of Commagene. The site was built for female members of the royal family. Its striking columns are visible from afar. Some of them feature eagle and lion sculptures, giving the monument its distinctive appearance. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery and wide-open views. We learned more about the history and significance of the Kingdom of Commagene during our visit. Despite the passing centuries, many elements remain remarkably well preserved. The monument offers a fascinating glimpse into the ancient world. The combination of history and nature made the experience unique. Karakuş Tumulus was an impressive stop along our route.

  • 🏛️Cendere Bridge

    We then visited the famous Cendere Bridge, one of the oldest still-functioning stone bridges in the world. Built during Roman times, it continues to impress visitors with its engineering excellence. The bridge spans the Cendere River in a picturesque setting. Its massive stone arch has survived for nearly two thousand years. Despite being built without modern technology, the structure remains remarkably stable. Walking across the bridge allowed us to enjoy its historic atmosphere. The surrounding mountains created a stunning backdrop. Informational signs explained the history of the bridge and its builders. Cendere Bridge is considered one of Anatolia's most significant Roman monuments. Visiting it was another highlight of our journey.

  • ⛰️Mount Nemrut

    In the evening, we arrived at the legendary Mount Nemrut, one of Turkey's most impressive UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The mountain is famous for its monumental stone heads and royal tomb complex from the Kingdom of Commagene. After the climb, we were rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The giant statues of gods and kings looked especially impressive in the evening light. King Antiochus I ordered the construction of this remarkable sanctuary in the 1st century BC. The atmosphere on the summit felt unique and almost mystical. Many visitors gathered to witness the famous sunset. The combination of history, archaeology, and nature made the site unforgettable. Mount Nemrut is one of Turkey's most fascinating landmarks. Visiting it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our entire trip.

  • 🏨Rabat Resort Hotel

  • 💦Ataturk Dam Vista Point

From the terrace, we enjoyed impressive views of the vast reservoir and the massive dam structure. Even from a distance, the scale of the project was remarkable. The water stretched toward the horizon, creating a unique landscape. The viewpoint is a popular stop for travelers exploring the region. We also learned about the dam's importance for energy production and irrigation. The combination of modern engineering and natural scenery made the visit fascinating. On a clear day, the views extend far across the surrounding hills. It was an impressive way to begin the day.

Its spacious courtyard with elegant arcades invites visitors to relax. The traditional architecture provides an authentic glimpse into past centuries. We were especially impressed by the beautifully crafted stone façades. Many locals gather here for breakfast or tea. The peaceful atmosphere made our visit particularly enjoyable. Hasan Paşa Hanı is considered one of Diyarbakır's most beautiful historic landmarks.

    For lunch, we visited the well-known restaurant Ciğerci İbo. Instead of the famous liver dishes, we chose Tavuk Şiş. The freshly grilled chicken skewers were served directly from the grill. The meat was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. It came with fresh flatbread, salad, and various side dishes. The restaurant was busy and very popular among locals. The open grill area created an authentic atmosphere. During our meal, we experienced the region's warm hospitality. The portions were generous and satisfying. It was the perfect meal before continuing our journey through southeastern Anatolia.

The riverside landscape created a unique atmosphere. During our visit, we explored numerous historical structures. The legacy of different civilizations remains visible throughout the area. Hasankeyf has long symbolized the region's rich cultural heritage. The views over the Tigris and surrounding cliffs were breathtaking. Visiting this remarkable place became one of the highlights of our trip.

  • ⛪️Deyrulzafaran Monastery

The site is considered the world's oldest known temple complex and dates back more than 11,000 years. At first sight, the monumental T-shaped stone pillars revealed just how extraordinary this place is. Intricate carvings depict animals and symbols from a distant past. Göbekli Tepe has transformed many scientific theories about the origins of human civilization. Excavations continue today, constantly revealing new discoveries. Visitors can observe the excavated structures from elevated walkways. A modern protective roof helps preserve the fragile remains. The atmosphere of the site is unique and thought-provoking. Visiting Göbekli Tepe was undoubtedly one of the most remarkable moments of our entire journey.

According to legend, Prophet Abraham was thrown into a fire by King Nimrod, but the flames turned into water and the burning logs into fish. Therefore, the carp living in the pond are considered sacred and are treated with respect. The area is surrounded by historic buildings, mosques, and beautiful gardens. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Many visitors fed the fish and enjoyed the scenic views. The combination of religion, history, and nature makes Balıklıgöl truly unique. During our visit, we took many memorable photos. The well-maintained pathways are perfect for leisurely walks. It is undoubtedly one of the city's most important attractions.

The facility plays an important role in protecting this rare species. Many visitors come here to learn about wildlife conservation projects in Turkey. The combination of education and nature made the experience particularly rewarding. It was impressive to see the success of these conservation efforts.
