    Anreise Kuba (1)

    April 22, 2017 in Honduras

    palermo hostel, tegulcigalpa

    November 3, 2016 in Honduras

Our driver said Tegucigalpa is a lady at night and a whore by day. He said the city lights are pretty at night and when the day comes the gritty, grimyness that is Tegucigalpa is revealed.
He also told us of neighborhoods that he wouldn't even walk through.

    El Picacho

    March 20, 2016 in Honduras

Yesterday I arrived late, around 11.30pm I think. Milikza came to pick me up from Hotel Marriott where the bus left me to make my first contact with the Honduran beer, haha. And once again my card was not working at the ATM, so so... I hope it will not turn out to be a serious problem. As a credit card it has been working well, just there seems to be serious issues with withdrawing cash... and in this part of the world it still is the asset that keeps the wheels rolling.

Well, it was late so after getting to Mili's place we quite directly went to sleep and the next morning I left to the city after a little bit of breakfast. It was time to meet Nancy at the Central Park. But on the way I encountered this dude Jason in the bus, he was a nice chap indeed. He was giving me very good tips and it was a pleasure to meet him by coincidence. I hope we will meet again for one day.

It took a while to connect with Nancy at the Central Park because it was so full of people but finally she caught me. And we went for a little walk around the city, to the markets and everything. Oh those star-shaped colored things are actually bottoms of bottles painted with different colors, quite a nice idea. We rested a while at her place since it was extremely hot outside before embarking to El Picacho for a view over the city. It was nice but also very exhausting, hot as it was up there too. So I was ready for refreshments but in this country it is not possible on Sundays really. Most of the bars (if not all) are closed on Sundays since after 5pm and until 11am the next day alcohol is not allowed to be sold anywhere. Especially now that it's la santa semana. Oh, what kind of stupidity religion puts you through, coyones... So, screw that plan then.

I was also trying to meet with Oscar and Arminius and Alejandra but... well, as it seems with the guys in this part of the world - not going to happen. I was feeling a bit frustrated about that and after a while thought it was better to sum up for the day (Nancy was also tired anyway) and head back home where I could spend some time with my hostess which indeed would be a good idea. I mean, she definitely seems like a person to get to know a bit more than just waving hi and bye...

Oh, and Alejandra lives a bit far away so it would not have been fair to expect her to come all the way just to meet up shortly. If I have time tomorrow I will arrange it somehow.

Coyones, it's time for la semana satan. Enjoy Trve Norwegian Black Metal!
