      Vandaag met de boot naar 2 eilanden (murana en burana geweest) hier hadden ze hele leuke gekleurde huisjes. Daarna naar een ander eiland een middagje op het strand gelegen. Parasol was wel erg moeilijk om op te zetten🙃 dus een beetje hulp gekregenBaca lagi

      Dag 18 - Venetië

      Niet heel veel foto's gemaakt vandaag, maar vandaag zijn we naar een groot waterpark geweest met allemaal glijbanen. Het was 2 uur heen en 2 uur terug met de boot dus dat was ook wel heel leuk. Savonds nog wat pasta gegeten samen en tas ingepakt.Baca lagi

      Rückreise Odyssee Tag 1

      Heute morgen bin ich zeitig hoch damit ich auf jeden Fall rechtzeitig beim Bus bin. Also hieß es um 9 Uhr erst einmal auschecken. Mit dem Fahrrad ging es dann Richtung Venedig. Auf jeden Fall war ich froh das ich so früh los bin. Denn ich musste mir den Weg erstmal suchen, da es einige Baustellen zu umschiffen galt. Ab der Brücke nach Venedig verlief aber alles glatt und so bin ich bereits um 10:20 an der Bushaltestelle. Wo ich und andere auf den Bus warten. Der 11:15 Bus fährt dann endlich um 11:20 vor. Nach weiteren 15 min geht's dann los. Die Route führt über Padua🇮🇹, Verona🇮🇹, Bergamo🇮🇹, Mailand🇮🇹, Lugano🇨🇭 nach Zürich🇨🇭. In Zürich werde ich wohl gegen 20:15 sein, wo ich 1h Aufenthalt habe. Danach geht es weiter direkt nach Konstanz🇩🇪. Wo ich wohl erst gegen 23 Uhr eintreffen werde.
      Morgen früh geht's dann mit dem ersten Bus weiter zu Klaus und Ellen wo ich eine Nacht verbringe.

      Ich versuche noch mal die Augen etwas zu schließen. Wird ein langer Tag und noch eine längere Nacht.

      Happy New Year 🎆

      Happy new year und alles Gute für Euch - Liebe, Reisen, Glück, Glitzer, immer einen guten Stellplatz und viele neue Abenteuer! ✨

      Was soll ich Euch sagen, Silvester in Venedig war mal eine ganz andere Erfahrung!

      Gegen 22:30Uhr fuhr unser Vaporetto in Richtung San Marco und das erste Mal gestern war das Boot mal so richtig voll - voll mit herausgeputzten Menschen, deren „Geplapper“ nicht aufhören wollte 🙃😆. Die meisten jungen Leute sind dann an der Station vor San Marco (quasi gegenüber) ausgestiegen und wir mit dem Rest um 23:15Uhr dann an der letzten Station. Wir mussten auch gar nicht weit laufen, denn schon als wir vom Steg herunter kamen, begrüßten uns Massen an Menschen, die in kleinen Gruppen einfach an der Promenade standen sich unterhielten und gen Wasser blickten. Wir haben also einen kleinen Spaziergang bis zur nächsten kleinen Brücke unternommen, sind dann aber wieder zurück gegangen und haben uns auch einen guten Platz zum Feuerwerk anschauen gesucht. Vorher hatten wir so viel zu schauen, einige der Gäste dieser Strassenparty hatten typische venezianische Masken auf und ich war ganz „verzückt“ davon. Ab 23:30Uhr wurde dann unter großem Hallo alle 5 Minuten eine Feuerwerksrakete gezündet - und ja, wir haben auf die Uhr gesehen, tatsächlich auf die Sekunde alle 5 Minuten🙃 - bis 23:59 Uhr, da kam die letzte einzelne Rakete, dann haben alle runter gezählt und dann ging es los - 15 Minuten pures Feuerwerksglück! Es gab keine betrunkenen Menschen, die unangenehm aufgefallen wären, es war unfassbar friedlich - sehr angenehm!

      Nach dem Spektakel haben sich alle, und ich meine ALLE!, in Bewegung gesetzt, um nach Hause oder zu ihren Autos zu gelangen. Ich habe schon sehr lange nicht mehr in einem Fußgängerstau gesteckt und da es da auch kein Vor und Zurück gab, sind wir erstmal in die Irre gelaufen und brauchten schlussendlich 1,5 Stunden um wieder zu unserem kleinen Tootles zu kommen. Wir haben also gestern ca. 10km zu Fuß zurück gelegt und sind dann glücklich und zufrieden gegen halb drei ins Bett gefallen.

      Jetzt wollen wir noch die neue Schwebebahn ausprobieren und dann schauen wir mal, was der Tag so bringt…      Baca lagi

      Venice

      We woke up to rain on the roof of our cabin. Bad weather has been a rarity on this trip. I believe we’ve only dealt with rain once in almost 80 days, so this was a surprise. It was stormy for most of the day, and it definitely took away from the magic of this magical city. But we made due as best we could, and were extra grateful for the spectacular weather yesterday!

      We took the water taxi out to a small island, Murano. They do glass blowing there, and we were able to watch a few demonstrations and tour some factories. Then we headed back to Venice, and got lost walking around in all the small streets. Actually blown glass is huge here and sold everywhere. You can’t walk ten feet without seeing a store full of blown glass. We must have looked at hundreds of items today as we walked. I really enjoyed taking the main water taxi thru the entire length of the grand canal - took almost an hour but was able to see so much of the city that way. We then did a glass bead making workshop. It was very fun molding our own glass beads. Can’t wait to see what we created tomorrow.      Baca lagi

      Tag 59 | Venezia

      In der romantischen Stadt Venedig treffe ich Linda 🥰. Gemeinsam beschreiten wir das Sightseeing (Rialto-Brücke, Canale Grande, Markusplatz, Palazzo Bovolo) und trinken den ein oder anderen Aperol. - Hier gibt es sogar vier Arten von Aperol, wir haben die Select-Version probiert und sind uns nun fast einig, dass wir Select mehr mögen als den Classic Aperol 🙃.
      Und tatsächlich ist das Essen gehen oder Ähnliches hier gar nicht so teuer wie gedacht.
      Das einzige, was das Dolce Vita-Feeling ein wenig trüben könnte, ist der hier und da strömende Regen ☔️. Aber darüber wollten wir uns gar nicht beschweren und haben das Beste daraus gemacht!      Baca lagi

      Beautiful Venice

      It’s raining in Venice! After a slow start to the morning we headed off to use our hop on hop off water bus pass. It was much cooler today which was great for walking around. Our first stop is St Marks! So many people. We ended up getting tickets to explore the Doges Palace and only had a short wait to get in. Absolutely fantastic and the history was amazing. We spent about two hours wandering through the palace and then the Bridge of Sighs which led to the prison area.

      When we finished we were going to wander around but there were way too many people so we jumped back on the bus and went to Murano. It is a beautiful place and much quieter and less tourists. Interesting that some shops had signs saying not Chinese glass, which it wasn’t and it would have been a shame to destroy the local industry with Chinese imports.

      Had a yummy pizza on a canal and then looked at the many shops with amazing glass sculptures and jewellery. I was lucky and got a pair of Murano glass earrings. The ride back passed some beautiful buildings and sights!

      We got back to the start and then found a little bar for the expected refreshments and then we found a wonderful little restaurant where Pete says he had the best Seafood pasta ever! We shared some yum mussels and made short work of the bowl!

      Walked home after Pete had the best Tiramisu ever! We are off to Rome tomorrow.      Baca lagi

      Venice and the reunion

      Today was the day! We hopped up, went down to brekkie and then we did our final clean up and pack to go to Venice! Our train was scheduled to leave at 10:22am and we got there at around 10:15. When we got there, we could not find where we were supposed to go at all. We asked around and eventually a security guard told us where to go. At this point it was 10:20 and he said we wouldn’t make it. We RAN as fast as we could and when we thought to give up, we saw the train still there and somehow we managed to get on. We got an announcement on the train saying there was an electrical issue or something which is why it was delayed. Never. Again. Anyway 6 hours on a train later and we arrived in Venice! Now this whole time I had Sarah believing that Alice was arriving around an hour after we’d arrive. (Dear reader - she was already at our air bnb) I also had Sarah believing that my mum wanted a whole bunch of videos of the air bnb to see what it looked like (just an excuse to record the reaction hehe) anyway we got one more train which got us into walking distance of the air bnb. When we got there we explored the place, and I very subtly tried to get Sarah to go into the bathroom. She thought the door to the bathroom might have been where our hosts were living so she didn’t want to open the door. I convinced her to open the door to which she saw a random person in the bathtub with the lights off - she absolutely thought it was the air bnb host - after turning on the lights she realised! Most gullible award goes to Sarah. After the reunion, we wandered the streets of Venice and had some dinner! Then back to the bnb zzzzzBaca lagi

      Une parenthèse en Italie

      Buongiorno ! J'ai quitté la Slovénie hier, je suis maintenant à l'aéroport de Venise et je serai à Zurich ce soir ! Petit constat de Venise, c'est comme le Santorini de l'Italie...En gros, tout est très cher, bondé de monde, c'est beau......mais il y a vraiment des endroits plus beaux et plus plaisants que ça en Italie. Disons que je préfère nettement les endroits plus nature, avec moins de foule et où tous les coins de rue ne sont pas des attrapes touristes avec des stands de bébelles à vendre.

      Je me lèverai dans la nuit pour prendre mon vol à 6h25 en direction de Biarritz pour aller voir mon amie Audrey que ça fait 5 ans que je n'ai pas vue 🥰🥳 Voici quand même quelques photos de mon p'tit arrêt à Venise !

      PS.: Gab et Mimi, vos carbonaras sont NETTEMENT meilleures que celles que j'ai mangé ici. Papa & maman, vous donnerez votre recette de sauce à spag au chef ! 😅      Baca lagi

      Venice

      After a slight sleep in, the four of us headed out to explore Venice the right way, on foot!

      We made our way to the main tourist attractions, absorbing the incredible architecture and canals that make Venice so iconic (we took way too many photos of the cool streets and architecture!) We walked across the Rialto Bridge and made our way to St Marks Square, where we decided to go up the bell tower.

      The temperature was pushing 40 degrees and so the incredible view together with the breeze was just what we needed! We took our time taking in the different view and spotting all the islands in the distance.

      We made our way back down where we walked along the grand canal, passing by the Doges Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. We continued around the outskirts of Venice, walking past a naval college and enjoying the peaceful serenity of being away from the bustling tourist spots.

      We continued back to the centre to get our daily gelato - mango and grapefruit for Daniel and lemon and cookies for Gab - before going on a gondola ride! We really enjoyed taking in the sights of Venice from the water and got to explore the smaller canals as well as the main canal. This was quite an expensive activity (glad we were sharing it between 4 of us) but "When in Venice!" We really enjoyed it (but our poor gondolier was definitely feeling the 40 degree heat!)

      By this point, we were all very hot and so we decided to head back to the Airbnb to enjoy the aircon for a night of food, drinks and card and phone games. Gab and Nicky especially enjoyed cheap Aperols from the supermarket (5 euros for the whole bottle of aperol and 2 euros for the prosecco!)      Baca lagi
