      Chinchero - Sacred Valley #1

      Die heutige Tour führte uns ins Sacred Valley (lt. Patrick auch Scared oder Secret Valley). Die erste Station Chinchero unfasst dutzende Inka-Terassen und Plattformen die früher landwirtschaftlich genutzt wurden. Hier residierte der Inkakönig Túpac Yupanqu (geilster Name). Zwei liebe Huskys standen heute Modell, als ob sie nix anderes machen würden. Später sahen wir noch, wie Stoffe hier mit natürlichen Mitteln gefärbt werden. War nichtmal so eine Touristenfalle wie erwartet, sondern super interessant. Rot wird mit einem Kaktus-Parasiten gefärbt, Lila mit Mais und Gelb mit Blumen.Lue lisää

      Rêve ta vie en couleurs 🎨🎶

      J197 (19 juin) : La visite de la vallée sacrée continue avec Chinchero, un village connu pour ses vestiges incas, son joli marché 🧺 mais surtout ses nombreux ateliers d'artisans tisseurs. Après une dégustation du chincharrón, viande de porc cuite dans de la graisse animale accompagnée de riz et légumes 🐷, nous filons dans un atelier de tissage pour en apprendre plus sur cet art ancestral.

      Nous rencontrons Paulina qui, depuis ses 7 ans, apprend à créer ponchos, châles, écharpes, bonnets et autres vêtements avec de la laine d'alpaga, de lama 🦙ou de brebis. La laine est d'abord lavée puis transformée en fil et en pelotes 🧶. Les teintures utilisées sont naturelles et chaque couleur a sa recette. Par exemple, elle utilise la cochenille du cactus dont le sang permet d'obtenir un rouge vif 🌵. Ceci mélangé à du citron 🍋, de l'eau ou une pierre fait varier la couleur passant du rouge au fushia.

      Une fois tous ces procédés réalisés, place au tissage. Son doigté est impressionnant ! Ici, pas de machine, tout est fait à la main et sans ordinateur 🖥 pour reproduire chacun des motifs présents sur les étoffes 🧣. Tous ont une signification bien particulière : griffe de condor, yeux de la princesse inca, lagunes... Nous passerons quelques minutes à apprendre et reconnaître les dessins représentés, fascinant ! Bien sûr, nous n'avons pas pu résister à l'achat de deux pulls certifiés non made in China 👍.

      Nous nous rendons ensuite au site archéologique de Moray. L'endroit servait de laboratoire agricole aux incas qui expérimentaient ici différents types de cultures sur les multiples niveaux des terrasses concentriques 🌽. La position de ces dernières permettaient de simuler une vingtaine de micro-climats différents afin de voir quelle plante/légume poussait le mieux à telle ou telle altitude 🌾.

      Une journée riche en apprentissage de la culture et des traditions péruviennes d'hier et d'aujourd'hui 🤓.

      This was another church, but was a particularly good example of the Spanish placement of a church atop an existing Incan holy site, and the overlay of Catholicism on existing theology. This site was originally dedicated to worship Pachamama (perhaps best described as mother nature, or a goddess of fertility and renewal). The church was named Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Natividad (our Lady of the Nativity). It's foundation also clearly shows the original Incan stonework. Just for fun, it's altitude was at 12,400 feet- a fact we decidedly noticed on the walk up the hill!Lue lisää

      Cuper Bajo - Urpis de Antaquillka

      🇩🇪 Am Morgen geht es in Richtung Chinchero, ins Dörfchen Cuper Bajo zu einer Frauenvereinigung, die 2019 ins Leben gerufen wurde, um die Familien zu unterstützen. Dort werden wir bereits von einer der Frauen empfangen. Als erstes gibt es eine kurze Zeremonie mit Koka-Blättern, um den verschiedenen Apus zu danken. Dann gehen wir gemeinsam spazieren, inklusive Musik und viel Informationen bezüglich den ganzen Kräutern, die hier zu finden sind. Sie zeigen uns, was sie alles anpflanzen, in welcher Rotation, was sie alles mit den verschiedenen Sträuchern machen (Dächer, Staubwedel, Schutz, usw.)

      Es gibt noch Geschichten zum See Piuray (weiblich) und dem Huayo See (männlich). Der See dient auch als Wasserreservoir für ganz Cuzco.

      Wir laufen weiter bis zum „Mirador“, einer Hütte auf dem See, auf der man eine wunderbare Sicht geniesst. Dort gab es Tee, Kartoffeln und Käse. Es wird gesungen und getanzt.

      Am Nachmittag zeigen uns die Frauen, wie sie Wolle verarbeiten und wir spielen mit ihnen und einigen Männern Fussball, auf 3800 m gar nicht so einfach!

      Nach dem Abendessen tauschen wir uns noch über Traditionen, Religionen, Bräuche des jeweiligen Landes aus.

      🇮🇹 Al mattino ci dirigiamo verso Chinchero, nel villaggio di Cuper Bajo, per visitare un'associazione femminile fondata nel 2019 per sostenere le famiglie. Ci accoglie una delle donne. Prima c'è una breve cerimonia con foglie di coca per ringraziare i vari Apu. Poi facciamo una passeggiata insieme, tra musica e tante informazioni su tutte le erbe che si possono trovare qui. Ci mostrano cosa piantano, in quale rotazione, cosa fanno con i diversi arbusti (tetti, piumini, protezioni, ecc.).

      Ci sono anche storie sul lago Piuray (femminile) e sul lago Huayo (maschile). Il lago serve anche come riserva d'acqua per tutta Cuzco.

      Proseguiamo fino al "Mirador", una capanna sul lago con una vista meravigliosa. C'erano tè, patate e formaggio. Si canta e si balla.

      Nel pomeriggio, le donne ci mostrano come lavorano la lana e giochiamo a calcio con loro e con alcuni uomini - non è facile a 3800 metri!

      Dopo cena, discutiamo delle tradizioni, delle religioni e dei costumi di ciascun Paese.      Lue lisää

      What a day! Part 1

      How can we fit so much into one day!? Alfredo picked us up bright and early at 7am to make our way to Chincero. It was a rainy start, but we're so grateful it cleared in the morning. First stop was a textile demo of the alpaca fur. It was really interesting to see how they colour the fur with all the natural elements. From there we visited the Chincero sacred ruins. The many levels of this temple are fascinating. Some entries for the common people, and the large ornate doors for royals to enter the grounds. From here they held various ceremonies to worship the sun and water as well as a burial site. All these temples and ruins are from the 1500's.Lue lisää

      We spent 2+ wonderful days here with a family of traditional weavers...not enough time! Ruth's family made us feel at home, the food was great, and many cool things to see in area. 3,762m/12,342ft elevation. Below freezing at night, no heat! But the beds very cozy.Lue lisää

      Chinchero, Maras, Moray, Ollantaytambo

      🇩🇪 Die heutigen Impressionen, das Staunen, die Emotionen und die Schönheit dieses Landes sind schwer in Worte zu fassen.
      Wir sind heute in Richtung Ollantaytambo aufgebrochen, da wir hier übermorgen unseren Inka Trail starten. Der erste Halt war in Chinchero, um Inkaruinen zu bestaunen und eine Textilproduktion zu besuchen, in der nur Frauen arbeiten. Wir waren alle überwältigt von deren Handarbeit und haben uns mit Erinnerungen eingedeckt. Die Dankbarkeit der Frauen hat uns zutiefst gerührt,
      Weiter ging es dann nach Moray, um die Terassenringe der Inka zu bestaunen. Diese dienten damals als landwirtschaftliches Versuchslabor, um die Sortenvielfalt der verschiedenen Höhen anzupassen.
      Anschliessend sind wir nach Maras gefahren, wo sich die Salzminen befinden. Das besondere daran, das Salz wird komplett ohne Technologie geerntet und die ganze Oberfläche wird nur mittels einer Quelle genässt. Unglaublich!
      Am Nachmittag sind wir in Ollantaytambo angekommen und haben ein schnelles Mittagessen genossen, bevor wir spontan hoch in Richtung Inka Lagerhäuser gelaufen sind. Die Sicht war einfach atemberaubend!

      🇮🇹 Le impressioni di oggi, lo stupore, le emozioni e la bellezza di questo Paese sono difficili da esprimere a parole.
      Oggi siamo partiti in direzione di Ollantaytambo, perché è da qui che inizieremo il nostro Cammino Inca di dopodomani. La prima tappa è stata a Chinchero per ammirare le rovine Inca e visitare una fabbrica tessile dove lavorano solo donne. Siamo stati tutti sopraffatti dal loro lavoro e abbiamo fatto scorta di ricordi. La gratitudine delle donne ci ha profondamente commosso.
      Abbiamo poi proseguito verso Moray per ammirare i terrazzamenti circolari concentrici Inca, fungevano da laboratorio per l’adattamento delle colture a diverse altitudini.
      Ci siamo poi recati a Maras, dove si trovano le miniere di sale. La particolarità è che il sale viene raccolto completamente senza tecnologia e l'intera superficie viene irrigata solo con una sorgente. Incredibile!
      Siamo arrivati a Ollantaytambo nel pomeriggio e abbiamo gustato un pranzo veloce prima di salire spontaneamente verso i magazzini Inca. Il panorama era semplicemente mozzafiato!      Lue lisää

      Chinchero & Pisac

      Po snídani jsme dobalili poslední věci a šli na desátou na domluvené místo, odkud nás měl vyzvednout řidič a odvézt nás přes Chinchero do města Pisac.

      Nasedli jsme do auta a nejdříve jsme jeli k archeologickému nalezišti. Normálně bychom tam asi nešli, ale máme desetidenní vstupenku na různé naleziště a muzea, a tak jsme toho využili.

      Ruiny samy o sobě nebyly tak zajímavé, na jedné z teras ale seděla babička a pletla stužky. Ukázala nám, jak probíhá celý proces a my se po pár minutách rozloučili.

      Vrátili jsme se zpět k autu a jeli do muzea textilií. Město Chinchero je právě známé kvůli spoustě místních, kteří tradičním způsobem pletou různé produkty z ovčí vlny a nebo vlny z alpaky. Sami si přírodním způsobem barví vlákno. Ukázali nám všechny potřebné kroky až ke pletení.

      Kolem jedné jsme měli vše v Chincheru hotové a mohli jsme jet dál do Pisacu. Po cestě jsme ještě rychle zastavili na oběd a já konečně ochutnal jedno z nejtypičtějších peruánských jídel - chicharrón. Je to vlastně pečenej bůček a k tomu nějaká příloha. Chutnalo skvěle a my po krátké pauze pokračovali dál.

      V Pisacu jsme akorát vyskočili z auta a šli se ubytovat. Jen jsme vybalili, dali si večeři a šli na hostel si lehnout.      Lue lisää

      Day 25/78 from Cusco ins heilige Tal

      At 9 am we left Cusco with our guide and our driver . We are happy with our individual tour, everything is perfect organised

      Todays destination is the village of urubamba..this is the outgoing station to Mach Picchu.

      What did we see on the way to it?

      At first we stopped at a place, were we saw the terraces of the Inca to do the agriculture. It is amazing their perfection in all thins of life.

      We made a stop with a nice view down to secret Valley.
      Next stop is amazing:

      In a very sheltered place the Inkas made an agricultural test station, adepting plants and fruits used to the climate of Amazonas forests
      To the clima of 3000 m and more of altitude .
      The last stop was a salt factory.
      Out of a mountain comes salty water. It is lead into basins. After filling up about 6 cm, the water flow is stopped, the sun dries the basin and pure salt is left, this proceeded several weeks till the us 30 cm of salt to be harvested.

      Secret valley or holy valley in Spanish. Why this name?
      Nothing to do with any god.
      No the secret of The Valley are 3 god given components.
      The whole valley is covered by high mountains againsedu wind

      The is water by the urubamba river

      There is best soil allowing three harvests a year
      First vegetable
      Than Mais
      At least wheat

      We stay in the hotel tambo del Inka, a first class hotel , which does not really fit in the sourrounding, but nice.

      Chincero: Weavers Collective

      Women’s weaving collective showcasing a wide variety of traditional textiles. And excellent presentation of the production process including the use of natural dyes for coloring. Lunch included Cuy or guinea pig so Loren gave it a try. Not much meat, but delicious smoked flavorLue lisää
