      Nochmal Stol ⛰ —> Baden 💦—> Klettern 🧗

      Nochmal auf den Stol: satte 1.200 Höhenmeter und ein neuer Aufstiegsweg, dieses Mal aus Robič, wo auch unser Bus steht. Zum Glück verlaufen die ersten ca. 900 Höhenmeter (= der Großteil) im Schatten, bis man auf den Grat kommt und ihn ca. 4 km und nochmal 300 Höhenmeter folgt.

      Die Bedingungen sind heute deutlich weniger windig, ein Glück! (Oder wir sind einfach früher da 🤔). Am Startplatz angekommen gibt es erst einmal Brotzeit. Dann taucht ein Kleintransporter mit vier weiteren Piloten (und einer Fahrerin) auf - heute ist es wohl fliegbar 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

      Während wir uns zu den Startvorbereitungen begeben, sind die anderen vier schon fertig und wir erleben darunter leider zwei sehr abenteuerliche Starts. Der erste ereignet sich, als einer der Piloten mit doppelt eingedrehten Leinen rückwärts startet und nach Abheben für einige Momente manövrierunfähig ist - gerade nach Abheben ist das sehr gefährlich, da hier Fehler schnell mit Bodenkontakt enden ☠️ So einen gravierenden Fehler beim Start haben wir noch nicht erlebt 😳

      Während wir kopfschüttelnd unsere Startvorbereitungen fortführen und das Beobachtete reflektieren geht der nächste in die Luft - und es passiert genau derselbe Fehler 🤯🤯🤯 unglaublich!
      Zwar konnten beide nach mehreren Momenten die Eintwistung auflösen, aber das es wirklich brenzlig.
      Grund genug, das wir extra gründlich den Start durchgehen. Es folgen zwei Bilderbuchstarts von Team Kloss, die von der Fahrerin mit Ausrufen wie „Elegant!“ und „Bravo!“ quittiert werden. 💪🏻

      Der Flug bietet unglaublich schöne Blicke in die Täler rundherum - siehe Bilder ⬇️

      Danach wird wieder gebadet in Nadiza und am Abend tatsächlich noch in Kobarid ein paar Routen geklettert - was für ein Tag! Dadurch sind wir auch schnell ziemlich k.o. und nach dem Abendessen (Spaghetti Bolo) geht’s in die Koje.

      Again Stol: some 1,200 meters of altitude along a new ascent. Luckily, the first 900 meters of climbing are in the shade of the dense forests 🌳 Once we arrive on top of the ridge we have about 300 meter to climb and 4 horizontal kilometers left - easy 😎

      The conditions seem less windy (or we are simply earlier in the day 😜). Arriving at the launch site, we eat our lunch sandwiches and see a van arrive with four more pilots - conditions seem flyable to others, too! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

      When we start with the prep, the others are already ready to go and we are witness to two chaotic starts. The first pilot starts backwards (good choice in general with the wind) but hat the lines doubly twisted and is completely unable to manouvre glider - a very dangerous mistake right after takeoff when one is still so close to the ground ☠️

      While we continue to prepare for our starts and discuss what we just witnessed, a second pilot starts - with the exact same mistake 🤯🤯🤯 unbelievable!
      Reason enough to be extra diligent today! What follows are two text book-like launches by team Kloss. 💪🏻 our fan club, consisting of the remaining van driver, is ecstatic: “Elegant!” and “Bravo!”

      The flight was stunning - see our pictures ⬇️ Upon landing, we take another bath in the Nadiza and even go for another round of climbing. What a day!

      Kobarid and Tolmin

      After a stormy night on the campsite we were lucky to dry our stuff in the morning sun. Today we were heading for Kobarid.

      Once we arrived by car we went for a 40 minute hike to the Slab Kozjak waterfall. The trail takes you up the cliffs and follows the emerald green Kozjak river. A bit later we entered a deep, green and humid canyon and continued to follow the path towards a platform in front of the waterfall. Its a unique and beautiful waterfall since it’s completely hidden between impressive high rocks. It looks like you’re almost in a cave. Just before leaving we were lucky to see a team of canyoneers rapelling down the waterfall.

      That afternoon we also visited the history museum of Kobarid. During the first world war the control over the Soča river was of extreme importance. An interesting tour through the museum learned us about warfare in the mountains in extreme winter conditions.

      The same evening we headed for Tolmin where we would visit the gorges the next day. When we arrived in the city (during another thunderstorm) we noticed that the normally 3000 inhabitants big village was flooded by 12000 metal heads who were arriving for their annual festival. As a result all rooms were booked and it was hard to find a place to spend the night. Luckily we got the last room of the only hotel in the city. It was nice to sleep again in a soft bed after a couple of days in the rain.

      On Sunday we headed for the Tolmin gorges, located just inside the National Park. For the first time we had to pay a small entrance fee, but it was definitely worth it. The park consists of deep canyons with huge cliffs and a beautiful river flowing through it. The trail takes us in the canyon, close to the river, to a hot water spring and ultimately ends on top of the cliffs far above the river.

      After our visit we were on our way to our next stop Bohinj Lake.      Leia mais

      Napoleon Brücke

      Im Örtchen Kobarid entstand 1750 die alte steinerne Napoleonbrücke mit nur einem Brückenbogen. Auf der Brücke marschierten Napoleons Truppen Richtung Predel, daher auch der Name. Die schmale Brücke überquert die Soča.Leia mais

      Following the Soca

      Our final path along the Soca river takes us firstly up to find a picnic spot and some more gorges, and then back down to a wonderful campsite sitting above the white water of the Soca.

      The winding roads follow the river into and out of valleys, we get a little too close to a fellow Moho on the way 😱 and we land in the sunshine to find more wine for under a euro and yummy pizzas for 6e..Slovenia certainly does value for money!

      The campsite has a little (altho steep) path down to the river where we find a tiny white beach, and Nic gets another chance for a swim. Although we’re on the side of white water, the little beach has big rocks protected from the current where the kids can paddle (although it’s freezing and campsite lady tells us even in high summer, people don’t swim in the Soca!).

      The river is beautiful here, and now we’ve seen it, our journey takes us onto the first motorway (and a close call with a policeman with a pair of binoculars - lucky we bought the vignette after all!). We head off to the caves - apparently the popular ones have a train, we know Coen will love this...      Leia mais

      Nach 45 Tageskilometer haben wir unseren nächsten Campingplatz Kamp Rut in Kobarid erreicht. Wieder ein kleiner, idyllischer Platz mitten in der Natur umgeben von Bergen.

      Bovec nach Dreznica

      Heute hat es dann auch wirklich nicht mehr geregnet! Es war noch bewölkt und auch noch etwas windig, aber trocken! 😊
      Sachen packen, lecker frühstücken und dann ging es los!
      Ich dachte erst ich laufe in meiner Regenhose - quasi als Windbreaker - aber das war nicht schlau. 😄 Ich habe sehr schnell angefangen zu schwitzen und die Hose war wieder aus! 😃
      Heute ging es viel durch Wald. Relativ am Anfang gab es zwei Wasserfälle.
      Erst kam der Virje Wasserfall und kurze Zeit später der Boka Wasserfall. Der höchste Wasserfall Sloweniens. Wir haben einen kurzen Abstecher zum Viewpoint gemacht. Sehr cool!
      Von da ging es eigentlich an der Soca entlang, aber heute hat man die leider nur sehr selten gesehen. Wenn wir sie gesehen haben, dann war sie aber wieder sehr schön.
      Mittagspause haben wir heute auf einer Brücke mit tollem Blick auf den Fluss gemacht. Als wir gerade wieder los wollten, kam auch noch ein Raftingboot. Sah nach Spaß aus. 🙂
      Wir haben die Soca verlassen und sind etwas in die Berge 'rein gelaufen'.
      Unser Etappenziel Dreznica ist ein süße Bergdorf. Wir haben geduscht und sind noch einmal durch die Gassen hier gelaufen.
      Hier gibt es aktuell auch nur ein Restaurant, das noch geöffnet hat und dort gab es auch 'nur' ein 3-Gänge-Menu. Es gab eine leckere Lauchsuppe, Gulasch mit Polenta und Gemüse und einen sehr leckere Nachtisch! 😋      Leia mais

      Ist das Fertigpizza?

      Kobarid in Slowenien

      Am Abend trudeln wir in Kobarid ein, wo wir im Hostel X-Point ein Doppelzimmer reserviert haben. Klare Empfehlung. Nicht zu empfehlen ist dagegen die Lipar Bar. Eigentlich hatten wir uns ein kleines Restaurant mit lokalen Gerichten ausgesucht, dass heute allerdings aus privaten Gründen geschlossen hat. Zwei Pizzerien sind randvoll, zwei andere Restaurants sind uns zu exklusiv und so landen wir notgedrungen in der Lipa Bar. Unter anderem bestellen wir eine Pizza und erhalten eine aufgebackene Tiefkühlpizza a la K-Classic. Später bemerken wir einen Hinweis ohne Fußnote in Slowenisch in der unteren Ecke der SpeisekKarte: pica je pripravljena - Pizza ist fertig. Selbst schuld also.

      Amúgy nemtom hogy a fenébe, de az összes szlovén akivel találkozunk tündéri jófej és segítőkész.
