      Koh Phangan, Haad Rin Beach

      Heute ging es aus Phuket mit dem Propellerflugzeug auf die Insel Koh Samui, die wohl den süßesten Flughafen überhaupt hat, und dann weiter mit dem Speedboat in den Süden der Insel Koh Phangan. In Koh Phangan angekommen war es erstmal ziemlich nass und regnerisch, weshalb ich die Zeit genutzt habe mir gefühlt den letzter Roller den Insel aus dem 30minuten entgernten Nachbarort zu mieten. Vor allem der Süden Koh Phangans ist vornehmlich für Patys bekannt, weshalb hier zu Silvester alles komplett ausgebucht ist.Read more

      Full Moon party

      Hallo hallo mensen, sorry voor de afwezigheid. Gisteren was de langverwachte Full Moon party hier op Koh Phanghan, waar we dus naartoe gingen. Dit eiland is namelijk beroemd om dit feest. Het feest is op het strand, en heel backpackend Thailand is daar eigenlijk. Zoals te zien is, is het strand overvol met jongeren uit alle landen, en overal waar je kijkt is wel een barretje met dansende mensen of een vuurshow te zien. Er wordt ook heftig geadverteerd met het feest, en je kan veel merchandise kopen. Deze zie je op de dames, die een prachtige en ietwat foute outfit hebben gescoord. Veel van de Full Moon party kledij is nogal fout, met neon kleuren, blacklight en frutsels eraan. Er waren ook veel mensen met blacklight tattoos, wat er op zich best wel vet uit zag. Iedereen zag er gaaf uit, en de jongens hadden een soort jaren 70 neon haarband gekocht. Erg stoer. De rest van de foto's zijn overigens van onze andere avonturen, die wat rustiger zijn. Scooteren, een strandje opzoeken, bij het bijbehorende barretje zitten en wat drinken. Dat is de andere kant van dit soort plekken.       Spíme na pláži? Zrušili nám ubytovanie!

      Dorážame na ostrov Phangan, kde máme zarezervovaný hotel na pláži hneď blízko konania jednej z najväčších plážových párty na svete, na ktorú sa večer chystáme.

      Hneď prvý pohľad "manažéra" hotela do našej rezervácie je jasný.
      Ešte chvíľu sa pretvaruje, aby nám prezradil, že oni s booking.com už nespolupracujú (neveríme) a že proste on nič voľné nemá.

      A nastáva mega problém. Tento ostrov je totiž počas fullmoon párty (a táto je navyše na silvestra) tak beznádejne vypredaný, že narýchlo aké také prijateľné ubytovanie nachádzame v cenách od 500 Eur na noc za izbu...

      Na celom ostrove so stovkami ubytovaní nám booking.com, agoda.com vyhadzujú minimálne množstvo voľných izieb a ceny závratné.

      Začíname reálne uvažovať o tom, ako prežijeme noc na pláži. Je to vážne.

      Nakoniec objednávame drahý taxík do hlavného mesta (ktoré je pre turistov menej zaujímavé). Tu požičiavame motorky a peším prieskumom po uliciach a pýtaním sa ženy nachádzajú ubytko "len" za 80 Eur na noc. Vzhľadom na zaplnenosť ostrova a aktuálnu fullmoon, keď niektoré ceny idú aj 5násobne hore sme mali asi šťastie, že vôbec máme kde bývať. No museli sme sa všetci obracať, ale nejako spoločne sme to dali.

      ... aj keď už sme sa tešili na noc na pláži ...

      Ono to bol oveľa dlhší, zložitejší a stresujúcejší proces (možno len pre mňa, neviem posúdiť), ale nechcem vás zaťažovat detailami.

      Pred párty ešte dáme kúpanie na pláži, kde večer bude párty a sú tam doslovne valcujúce vlny, ktoré si užívame, aby z nás opadol doobedňajší stres.

      No a Danku to asi pomangľuje kvalitne, lebo po tých vlnách a dosť premastenej polievke na obed potom leží asi 2 hodiny v posteli a kňučí, že na žiadnu silvestrovskú párty nejde... Nie je jej vôbec dobre, pije pivo, snáď jej to pomôže.      Read more

      Day 163

      Koh Phangan - Regen und Wind...

      Der Tag danach war so ein typischer „Am Besten nicht Rausgehen“ Tag, das Wetter war sehr windig und auch regnerisch. Nach einem Instantkaffee und einem Toast am Tisch auf der Straße vor unserem Hostel (Dort saßen wir eigentlich schon die ganze Zeit rum. War interessant die Straße zu beobachten.) Dann liefen wir doch noch ein bisschen umher. Als erstes gingen wir zu einem Restaurant zum Frühstück/Mittagessen und dann zu einem Café. Da begleitete uns auch Cara, eine Deutsche aus unserem Hostel. Nach einem kurzen Abstecher zum „Rin Nai“ Strand, gingen wir danach wieder zu einem Restaurant zum Essen. Es gab dort ein Spaghetti Angebot und gute Reggae-Musik. Und es war tatsächlich sehr lecker und die Spaghetti „al dente“ - wer hätte das gedacht... 😝
      Später am Abend gingen wir dann noch einmal los zum Strand. Auf dem Weg kauften wir Roti und „den besten“ Mojito Bucket bei einer sehr netten Frau. Die hatte auch einen super süßen Hund namens „Fupfip“, der aber bei zu viel streicheln auch zur Furie werden konnte... wir kamen noch ein paar mal vorbei dort. Ansonsten gab es dann für uns nochmal Party am Strand mit Tanzen, Feuershow und Feuer Limbo ;) aber deutlich weniger Leuten als am Tag zuvor. (Es gibt jeden Tag Party in Haad Rin.)      Read more

      Day 62

      KOH PHANGAN! 🌖🍾🩱

      Wo fangen wir an…
      Mein Plan war von der Insel in Kambodscha nach Thailand auf die Koh Phangan zu fahren.
      (Nicht zu fliegen!, Umwelt !!)
      Das hieß für mich 3h Fähre ans Mainland, 10h nach Siem Reap, 8h nach Bangkok, 12h zum Hafen und dann 2h mit der Fähre nach Koh Phangan. Insgesamt war ich mit warten und Fähre verpassen 72h unterwegs😅

      Party war das Motto der Insel und das hielten wir ein!

      Alle haben uns gewarnt vor der New Year Party aber Alessa und ich waren ja schon seit 2 1/2 Monate gekonnte Party Mäuse. Also ging alles gut aus😍      Read more

      Cocohut Village

      Now on the Haadrin Queen on our way to Koh Phangan. A driver is waiting for us at the pier ready to take us to Cocohut Village our home for the next 3 days.

      When we checked in it was confirmed the full moon party has been cancelled, however, the Resort will be holding its own party with free food and drinks from 7pm tomorrow night.

      Our room is quite nice and the resort is just as good. Cocohut Village is a much larger resort than the one on Koh Samui so more people and noise. All good though as it is the Party Island for a reason.

      Once unpacked we jumped in a cab and went into town. It was time for my tattoo. I researched a few places and came up with DNA Tattoo as the reviews were quite good and prices where reasonable. No pain and it was completed in just under 2 hours. I found it more painful being still on my side and leg twisted than the actual tattoo. I am very happy with the result.

      No swimming or reading this afternoon just watching Netflix while I rested my leg. Later in the afternoon we sat outside and enjoyed a drink overlooking the pool but soon the mozzie's were bad, so we went back inside and watched another interesting show on Netflix.

      Dinner time was a short walk up the hill to a local café for pizza as we are getting over the Thai food. Some Italian will be the next best choice.

      Back at the resort we went for a short walk around the resort, it is very pretty with all the lights.

      Now for icecream and Netflix to see out day 8.

      Day 29

      Koh Phangan

      Op 9 april zijn wij van Koh Tao naar Koh Phanghan gegaan, dit is een eiland ernaast. Het was een tochtje van 1,5 uur met de boot dus dat was goed te doen, hier hebben we de eerste 4 nachten in een (party)Hostel verbleven. Hier ontmoette we de eerste dag al meteen twee Haarlemmers van dezelfde leeftijd als ons, hier hebben we dan ook de rest van de dagen mee doorgebracht. We zijn naar veel mooie strandjes gegaan, en hebben nog een waterval bezocht.

      Na deze 4 dagen gingen we naar een ander verblijf, dit was namelijk dichterbij de zogeheten fullmoon party. Hier komen iedere volle maan duizenden backpackers op af om een strand compleet te vullen. Bij deze plek hebben we ook vrienden van ons uit Nijmegen ontmoet, deze zijn nu al zo’n 5 maanden weg. Zij kwamen ook voor de fullmoon party. We hebben met hun 5 dagen hier doorgebracht. Nu zijn wij onderweg naar Khao Sok, een groot nationaal park met hele mooie natuur.      Read more

      Day 10

      More Relaxing

      Today is just like the other days, not much happening just relaxing, we will be very well rested by the time we get to Bangkok tomorrow.

      After breakfast we went for a walk along the floating jetty, it was really weird walking on it as the waves keep making it move. It was difficult because I was a little scared my knee would give out but it was OK. Back on land we walked along the beach to a walkway which hugs the side of the rocks over the water. Once at the end you find a rather chilled out Restaurant and some cabins, not our style of cabins but the location is great.

      Back at our resort time for a swim and you guessed it more reading.

      Lunch time and more relaxing and reading before we head into the Jetty area for a check of my tattoo, it is all part of the service to go back a few days later for the artist to check that everything is going well.

      Another great massage I must be getting taller with all the stretching and pulling, my muscles are quite relaxed.

      Back in the room and watching Netflix we have started watching a series where Forensic Science is the main tool in ascertaining who the murderer is each episode only goes for 20 min or so which is great for holiday watching.

      Dinner time we walked up the hill of the Resort for about 3 min to a nice Thai restaurant, then back to our Resort for homemade ice cream for dessert.

      Now maybe a movie.

      The step count today is 10570 although not high it is the most we have walked since arriving. I guess that is what a relaxing holiday is about.      Read more

      Day 9

      Full Moon Party Day

      The morning was nice and relaxing, back to breakfast, swimming and reading. We basically did nothing until after lunch. We thought we really needed to do something so a walk to where the Party is meant to be.

      The beach is very much like our Aussie beaches, very burnt tattooed people laying in the sand and swimming. Not a lot of people but it is a long beach so the people are spread out. I am sure if the party was on there would be so many more people. I cannot believe this is another one of those places we visit and the reason for coming is cancelled. So many people over reacting to the virus.

      Tonight we are going to a Full Moon cocktail Party put on by the Resort with free food and drinks for a few hours.

      The Sky Moon Hotel, where the party was held, was very nice with a lovely view over the beach. The food and drinks were plentiful.

      We are back at our resort thinking about going for a walk to the Full Moon Party Beach, we did come all this way for a good party but the beach looking down from Sky Moon seams pretty empty.

      We walked to the beach anyway and no there were not 30,000 people as usual but maybe 10,000. The music is pumping out and people are having a great time. The fire show was pretty good and the skipping rope on fire was really good. Lot's of people skipping and missing the rope but it was all in good fun.

      Not the real party atmosphere but I am saying close enough for this old couple. We enjoyed walking around, feeling like we were at the party without the hassels of a crowd.

      Koh phangan

      טוב נמאס לי להשמיץ יעדים תאילנדים אז אני קצת אפרגן לקופנגן, באמת סהכ אחלה אי חופים נחמדים ולא חסר מה לחקור רק בעיה אחת התחושה הרווחת אי שחוץ מהיום של הפולמון האי פשוט לא מתפקד לא עובד ונטוש ונמצא בהאנגאובר תמידי, הרגיש מבאס רצח והרגיש פספוס מטורף, אכלנו באותן מסעדות ישראליות באמת 9 פעמים ולא התחרטתי על זה הרגיש לי אמין וטוב ומוכר.
      אכלתי פעם ראשונה בראוניז עם סמים בפנים כמובן והיה לי טעים אבל נרדמתי ל9 שעות, שיחקנו משחקי חוקיות וחייב להגיד שזה היה כיף ומעניין רצח נודר אני חתיכת סאחי איזה בושה.
      יצאנו סוף סוף באמת לחקור יעד פעם ראשונה מאז פאי והיה כיף מאוד הגענו לנקודת תצפית בין המרשימות שראיתי , שתיתי אייס שוקו ליד שרקנים מסריחים ותאילנדית עם ציצי מכובד מאוד פשוט הורידה חולצה והתחילה להניק את הילד בן 5 הפרזיט שלה שלפני דקה שלף ארנב מהאוזן כמו חתיכת פליט פלסטני אני שוקל להיות צמחוני.
      הצבתי אולטימטום - אני ממשיך הלאה משעמם פה מי שרוצה שיבוא ומי שלא שיזדיין וישאר פה הכל טוב אל דאגה אני עושה דמו רציני למה שעתיד להיות.
