Weils so schön war leihen wir uns heute gleich wieder den selben Roller aus. Keine 500 m gefahren, werden wir von der Polizei angehalten. Ich muss meinen Führerschein zeigen und dem Officer gefällt der Stempel auf dem internationalen Führerschein nicht. Die Diskussion führt zu nichts und ich glaube ihm wird klar, dass er von mir kein Geld sieht. Also schnappe ich mir den Führerschein zurück und wir fahren einfach weiter... Wir fahren durch Nha Trang zur Pagode Long Son und dem Ponager Tower. Ponager ist ein hinduistischer Tempel aus dem 8. Jahrhundert. Auch kommen wir in entlegenere Gebiete der Stadt, was uns sehr gefällt. Am Abend nehmen wir den Nachtbus nach Da Nang.Read more

Haben uns heute wieder ein bisschen kulturell betätigt. Nach einem vietnamesischen Kaffee wollten wir eine Kirche und ein Pagode besuchen. Da die Kirche aber Mittagspause hatte würde es dann nur die Pagode.

Nha Trang

Heute entspanntes Frühstücken nach dem Schwimmen im Meer.
Zu viert nehmen wir ein Taxi und fahren nach Bau Truc. Hier befindet sich eine Töpferwerkstatt. Leider sind die meisten getöpferten Artikel zu schwer zum Transportieren. Wir kaufen mehrere kleine Tiere.
Danach laufe ich allein am Strand entlang Richtung Süden. Ayse hat kurzfristig abgesagt. Nach einer Stunde erreiche ich ein kleines Restaurant, wo man sich Muscheln und Krebse zum Essen aussuchen kann, die sich in Wannen befinden.
An einem Tisch sitzen mehrere Männer, die mich freundlich begrüßen und mir eine Dose Bier anbieten. Auch von einigen Früchten muss ich probieren. Die Einladung für ein gemeinsames Essen lehne ich ab und bestelle mir einen Teller mit Nudeln und Seafood. Auch Wachteleier muss ich testen. Das Essen schmeckt super, sehr lecker abgeschmeckt.
Nach einer weiteren Stunde erreiche ich das Fischerdorf Dong Hai am Ende unserer Bucht.
Ich habe selten so viel Müll an einem Ort, am Strand und im Meer gesehen wie dort. Die Menschen sind sehr freundlich, bieten mir wiederholt etwas zum Essen an. Hin und wieder probiere ich etwas.
Gegen 16:30 erreiche ich wieder unser Hotel.
Schwimmen im Meer.
Abends essen wir in unserem Hotel. Es dauert sehr lange bis das Essen und die Rechnung kommt.Read more

Fahrt nach Nha Trang

Nach kurzer Fahrt besuchen wir ein Fischerdorf. Das besondere ist, dass die Fischer mit runden Booten fischen gehen. An ihrer Küste gibt es häufig viele Wellen und man fand heraus dass es in runden Booten sicherer ist aus Meer zu fahren. Die Menschen begegnen uns sehr freundlich. Mittagessen bei strömendem Regen unterwegs in einer kleinen Ferienhausanlage.
Am Nachmittag besuchen wir einen Familienbetrieb, der Fischsauce herstellt. Der Fisch wird mit Salz bedeckt und so mehrmals geschichtet. Schließlich läuft unten die Sauce raus, 1. Qualität. Der Rest wird nochmals gekocht und als 2. Qualität verkauft. Am späten Nachmittag erreichen wir Nha Trang bzw. eine Hotelanlage mit kleinen Häuschen.
Wir laufen ein Stück zu einem einfachen Restaurant am Strand. In Wannen werden Muscheln und Krebse angeboten. Ich bestelle nach gut Glück, was ich nicht kenne. Einige wenige Gerichte können wir auf der vietnamesischen Speisekarte übersetzen.
Ich bekomme eine Form von Austern mit Kräutern und Knoblauch verfeinert, sehr lecker.
In dieser Region kann kaum jemand englisch verstehen oder sprechen.Read more

Long Son Pagoda

We explored the Long Son Pagoda this morning, the oldest temple in Nha Trang. Our motorcycle trip took us through the busy city center, and then found smaller streets to wind up to the top of a hill, overlooking the city. We started with the White Buddha, standing at a height of 24 meters and made of concrete. It was built in 1963 and is a symbol of peace and enlightenment.

As we carefully made our way down the stairs, we found the Reclining Buddha: This 14 meter long statue is a representation of the Buddha during his final moments before reaching nirvana, which is the ultimate goal of Buddhist practice. There are a few Jewish women in the group who pointed out what looked like swastika on various statues and monuments. There are two very prominent signs on the bottom of the Reclining Buddhist feet, but they are completely different. In Buddhism, this sign is considered to symbolise the auspicious footprints of the Buddha. The left-facing sauwastika is often imprinted on the chest, feet or palms of Buddha images. It is an an iconic symbol for the Buddha in many parts of Asia and homologous with the dharma wheel.Read more

Mopedtour in Nha Trang - Chùa Long Sơn

Die Long Son Pagode ist unser nächstes Ziel. Sie ist eine buddhistische Tempelanlage am Fuße des Berges Trại Thủy. Auf dem höchsten Punkt der Anlage thront ein riesiger weißer Buddha.
Der Tempel wurde 1886 ursprünglich auf einem anderen Berg erbaut, wurde aber 1900 bei einem Wirbelsturm stark zerstört und in den 1930igern an seiner heutigen Stelle wiederaufgebaut.
Wir klettern über alle Ebenen und schauen überall hinein. Und leider fällt uns wieder auf, wieviel Müll rumliegt, selbst an den Heiligtümern.
Unten angekommen, fahren wir direkt am Hafen vorbei zur letzten Etappe, der katholischen Kirche in Nha Trang.Read more

After the drama of yesterday ee decide we'll check out 2 days early as its so grim.

Noblet writes a snotty email to Agoda & trip advisor for their dodgy forwarding techniques.

Then says to me.... "I've accidentally sent that email to the hotel, we better leave" so we pack at a hundred miles an hour and check out pronto laughing all the way!!

He's ill to be fair I'll let his idiocy slide 😂😂😂😂

Bus back down to the main town and bag a nice hotel £15 pn.... This is more like it YEY!!

Phone call to iResort a spa type of thing, and they come and pick us up in a golf buggy and drive us the 6km to the resort.

Next thing you know we're scrapping in a mud bath mud wrestling disturbing the peace.... Then, its into a giant pot of tea where we soak in Lipton for 20 minutes! Then we get in some geothermally heated salt water... Which is a massive swimming pool with giant water falls and a view over Nha Trang to die for!!! This is brilliant! Living the dream (although still not as good as the one with beer in iceland with dad!)

Once we've chilled out we head back down for a foot massage. They make us change into some communal bathing outfits we look soo Chinese! The lads start the foot massage which is lovely until they start karate chopping your feet.... Wtf pal!!!

Feet finished and feeling thoroughly violated we head for some food and more chill.

It's quite late and though the park is meant to be open until 8pm loads of the pools are being emptied and clean and we can't find the flumes... Nooo!!

Traditional handstand competition and then drowning each other sesh and it's day done!!! What a great day for £20 each!!! Imagine how much that would be in the UK!

Top notch chicken pie.... Uuuhhh I like pie.

Went to get a taxi home and the Russians (of which there are many) are worse than the Chinese at queueing we kick off to not much avail! Then two cheeky Russians approach is having the crack about pushing in and then realise we're not Russian! They proceed to push in front of ten people and barge into the next taxi.... Psssshhhhh this is ridi!! Anyway now even the Russians think we're Russians. What is with people assuming we're German/ Russian... It's constant!

Must be how fit we are!

Jump in a taxi and share with a few Chinese brilliant! Obviously the driver asks us for the lions share of the fare as we're white. Honestly the racism we're on the receiving end of on this trip is ridic! I feel like Leon!

German sausage and chips for tea to try and get Noblet eating again.... It seems to have worked touch wood!!Read more

It started confusing. The lady from the travel agency came to our pool and told us the bus will leave at 1:00 instead of 1:30 pm and that it will be picking us up.
Then she came again telling us we will have to go to the street. Be there 12:50 because the bus will be early.
So we waited until 1:45 pm... sweating, waiting, calling the Agency.
In the End the Bus picked us up ( after another bus just left us standing there which made us go crazy ).Read more

There are some nice things to do in Nha Trang but in the end, 1 day is enough unless you want to relax at the public beach. But since we are in Hoi An now and since we have seen the beach here my advise is: Move on.

Anyway, first stop was the Long-Son Pagode with its giant Buddha on top of the small hill and the lying Buddha directly behind the temple. Definitly a must see. Oh, there is no entrance fee and the taxi ride took us around 55k from the Night Market Area to there.Read more
