Traveler at breakfast we talked about how difficult it would be to convey to people back home what the camino was like and what it meant to each of us. it was such a profound experience that i dont think words can really do it justice; you would need to experience it yourself to understand.
Traveler put my shawl on gianmarco while he was asleep since he only had shorts on and looked cold. he woke up at one point and called out a thank you. he made another point at breakfast to tell me i had saved him with that shawl. it really is the little things that make all the difference eh....masa and sofia also here. got sofia a beer in santiago bc she said it helps her sleep and as a thank you for taking my luggage to airport. had offered to bring them food but she said they'd already found some.
Traveler such a good time with anneliese and saxe and their whole gang. laughed until i cried with the stories of their reaction to fanny's explicit photos and messages spamming the buen camino group chat, tales of camino hook ups and romances, and bathroom emergencies on the camino. so grateful to sophia for taking my luggage to the airport so i could go back to santiago to chill with these people one last time!
Traveler christian met me for breakfast at the cafe. we dragged a table and chairs to a rooftop outside to talk but later got in trouble for it lol. it was nice to sit basking in the sun and share some information about our respective lives. up until this point, a lot of our communications had been via text or in group settings. going on a camino is like getting a dose of truth serum - no question was off limits. definitely got some insight into him as a person. i think we all look forward to moments where we can stop and reflect on our experiences. we drove me back to town afterwards to meet up with the others.
