    Fazit unserer Reise

    Wir hatten Regen, Sturm und viel Sonnen-schein, traumhafte und einsame Strände, leckeres Essen, Sonnenbrand, schon früh geschlafen, sehr nette Bekanntschaften, keine Helme, ein zuverlässiges Zweirad, super Unterkünfte mit sehr freundlichen Eigentümern und deren Personal, und eine Rückreise von Manila nach Nanjing von 15 Stunden, aber dennoch einen sehr erholsamen Urlaub und sollten wir erneut die Möglichkeit haben, die Philippinen zu bereisen, jederzeit gerne.

    Wir haben mit dieser Reise unsere Kinder mit Folgendem AKTIV enterbt:

    - Flüge (6x) 1.906,44€
    - Transport/Taxi 64,08€
    - Unterkunft (5 Wechsel) 771,90€
    - Essen/Trinken (oft) 465,47€
    - Roller-Verleih/Benzin. 70,93€
    - Massagen (zu wenig) 8,76€
    - Shopping (wenig) 86,60€

    So das war’s mal wieder, Danke fürs Folgen und bis zur nächsten Reise…..

    We had rain, storm and lots of sunshine, beautiful and lonely beaches, delicious food, sunburn, slept early, very nice acquaintances, no helmets, a reliable two-wheeler, great accommodation with very friendly owners and their staff, and a return trip from Manila to Nanjing within 15 hours, but still a very relaxing holiday and should we have the opportunity to travel to the Philippines again, we'd love to.

    With this trip we ACTIVELY disinherited our children with the following:

     - Flights (6x) 1,906.44€
    - Transport/Taxi 64.08€
    - Accommodation (5 changes) 771.90€
    - Food/drink (often) 465.47€

    Guangzhou Airport

    Wir sind mit fast 2 Stunden Verspätung in Manila gestartet und um 15.48 Uhr in Guangzhou gelandet, unseren eigentlichen Anschlussflug hätten wir sowieso verpasst.
    Im Vorfeld sollten wir einen Covid Schnell-test machen, um boarden zu können, was kein Mensch kontrolliert hat. Wir haben in Manila 20€ für 4 Tests bezahlt. Dass wir jetzt aber bis 20.10 Uhr warten müssen, stimmt uns nicht gerade freudig.

    Wir haben uns hier für 42€ zusammen in der Lounge eingebucht, um bequemer zu sitzen und auch gleichzeitig was zu essen, aber es ist lang nicht das, was man wo anders erwarten würde. Es gibt verschiedenes an warmem Essen, aber wir haben uns für eine Nudelsuppe entschieden. Leider gibt es außer Bier nichts alkoholisches und wir entscheiden uns für Cola, Fanta und Bier.

    We took off from Manila almost 2 hours late and landed in Guangzhou at 3:48 p.m. We would have missed our actual connecting flight anyway. We should do a quick Covid test in advance so that we can board what no one has checked. We paid 20€ for 4 tests in Manila. But the fact that we now have to wait until 8:10 p.m. does not make us particularly happy.

    We booked ourselves into the lounge here for €42 to sit more comfortably and eat something at the same time, but it's far from what you would expect anywhere else. There is a variety of hot food, but we opted for a noodle soup. Unfortunately, apart from beer, there is nothing alcoholic and we opt for Cola, Fanta and beer.    Read more

    Flughafen Manila

    April 5, 2023 on the Philippines ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

    Da lobt man sich doch das gut organisierte Frankfurt Flughafen Bodenpersonal. Jeder Schalter ist hier besetzt und tausende tummeln sich hier mit meist Unmengen an Gepäck.

    Wir fliegen erst nach Guangzhou und heute Nacht hat Bernd mal seine Mails gecheckt und erfahren, dass unser Flug von Guangzhou nach Nanjing gecancelt wurde.

    Nach längerem Suchen haben wir wieder einen, leider mit einem 5-stündigen Aufenthalt dort. Also vor Mitternacht sind wir dann nicht zu Hause. Aber auch das geht vorbei.

    Gerade kam wieder eine Mail, dass der Flug nach Guangzhou auch schon Verspätung hat um 1 Stunde.

    Since one praises oneself but the well-organized Frankfurt airport ground staff. Every counter is occupied here and thousands cavort here with mostly tons of luggage.

    First we fly to Guangzhou and tonight Bernd checked his emails and found out that our flight from Guangzhou to Nanjing was cancelled.

    After a long search we have another flight again, unfortunately with a 5-hour stay there. So we won't be home before midnight. But that too shall pass.

    Letzter Tag in Manila

    April 5, 2023 on the Philippines ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

    Gegensätzlicher können die Eindrücke dieser Stadt für uns nicht sein, man schämt sich fast schon, den letzten Tag in Luxus verbracht zu haben, wenn man das wahre Leben außerhalb des Hotels wahrnimmt.
    Die Bilder dazu muss man nicht weiter kommentieren.

    Wir haben den kurzen Aufenthalt sehr genossen, auch wenn der freundliche und zuvorkommende Service im Hotel mir meist schon zu viel des Guten ist.

    For us, the impressions of this city couldn't be more contrasting, one is almost ashamed to have spent the last day in luxury when one perceives real life outside of the hotel.

    Abflug Siargao

    Wir sind wieder mit dem Tricycle zum Flughafen gefahren, diesmal für 700 PHP (12€). In der Wartehalle ist es sehr kalt, dass man froh ist, wenn man langärmelige Klamotten greifbar hat. Wir fliegen ca. 2 Stunden.

    So wie es aussieht, haben wir all das verspeist und anscheinend noch viel mehr, denn nicht jedes Mahl wurde vorher abgelichtet. Es war fast nichts dabei, was wir für nicht lecker befunden hätten.

    Magpupungko Rock Pools

    April 3, 2023 on the Philippines

    Man muss bei Ebbe zu den Rock Pools und der beste Weg ist durch das Wasser. Wir haben es erst über den Landweg versucht, der uns aber zu felsig und glitschig war. Auch 1 Stunde bevor der tiefste Punkt der Ebbe war, konnten wir durch max. knietiefes Wasser laufen und haben glasklares Wasser und eine wunderschöne Kulisse genossen.

    You have to get to the Rock Pools at low tide and the best way is through the water. We first tried the land route, which was too rocky and slippery for us. Even 1 hour before the low tide was at its lowest point, we were able to walk through knee-deep water and enjoyed crystal-clear water and a beautiful backdrop.    Read more

    Urlaubsbekanntschaft

    April 2, 2023 on the Philippines

    Wir haben ebenso Ronny, Nathalie mit ihrer 4-jährigen Tochter Maliya kennengelernt und eine lustige und nette Zeit miteinander verbracht. Sie kommen ebenfalls aus der Schweiz und haben sich eine Auszeit von 2 Monaten genommen, um 4 Wochen Vietnam zu bereisen und weitere 4 Wochen auf den Philippinen zu verbringen.

    Ronny hat noch Familie in Cebu, dort werden sie einige Tage verbringen, um dann die letzten Tage mit Tauchen zu verbringen.

    Danke an Maliya, die uns mit ihrer herzlichen, erfrischenden und kindlichen Art das „Schweizer Deutsch“ näher gebracht hat.

    We also met Ronny, Nathalie with her 4-year-old daughter Maliya and had a fun and nice time together. They also come from Switzerland and have taken a 2-month break to travel 4 weeks in Vietnam and spend another 4 weeks in the Philippines.

    Ronny still has family in Cebu, where they will spend a few days and then spend the last few days diving.

    Thanks to Maliya, who brought us closer to the "Swiss German" with her warm, refreshing and childlike manner.    Read more

    Erneut 1 Nacht bei Weeroona Huts

    Wir haben gerätselt, was Weeroona bedeutet und dachten erst an die Heimatstadt von Berry oder an einen Frauenname? Bernd hat ihn dann gefragt und da er Australier ist, erklärte er es uns.

    Der Name Weeroona wurde aus der indigenen Sprache gewählt und bedeutet „Ruheplatz“, um einen Ort widerzuspiegeln, an dem Menschen mit Behinderungen und ihre Familien kommen, durchatmen und Unterstützung erhalten können.

    Weeroona ist eine gemeinnützige lokale Gemeinschaftsorganisation, die in Australien als wohltätige Organisation anerkannt ist.

    Seine Unterkunft ist sauber und philippinisch liebevoll eingerichtet, wir haben pro Nacht 21 € bezahlt und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

    We were trying to figure out what Weeroona meant and first thought of Berry's hometown or a woman's name? Bernd then asked him and since he is Australian, he explained it to us.

    The name Weeroona was chosen from the indigenous language and means 'resting place' to reflect a place where people with disabilities and their families can come, breathe and receive support.

    Weeroona is a non-profit local community organization recognized as a charity in Australia.

    His accommodation is clean and lovingly furnished in a Filipino style, we paid €21 per night and felt very comfortable.    Read more
