Onwards to Bolzano: home of Otzi the Iceman and gateway to the Dolomites. The feel is decidedly German, particularly with the Christmas Markets still open.
We had ignored all of Lara's pleas to go ice skating in places like Garda because we had a plan to skate near Bolzano... on a real lake in the mountains.
