    Copenhagen Reunion

    June 17, 2019 in Denmark ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

The last few day I spent in Copenhagen with the people I got to know and lived with in Mexico. It was the first time after 6 months that we saw each other and it seemed like we never separated. I had the greatest time with those generous people and I even decided to stay longer than planned. The city is super nice and pretty but also really expensive. I spent a lot of money but in the end it was 100% worth it. The trip gave me such a high value. In the end it was more about the people than the city of course but I can tell for sure now that the connection to my friends I met during my study abroad is a really special one that I do not want to miss anymore.Read more

    Rainy day in Copenhagen!

    July 16, 2017 in Denmark ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

Woke up to rain this morning! Spent the morning on the sightseeing bus then coffee and lunch. The Danish are the 3rd highest coffee drinkers in the world just behind Sweden and Finland and they make fantastic coffee! The Danes average 4 cups a day. Just another little bit of info- there are 5 bikes for every 4 people- they ride everywhere with specials wide bike lanes. Still raining After lunch So Betty and I spent a few hours wandering through the national museum.Read more

    Copenhagen

    November 10, 2016 in Denmark ⋅ ⛅ 1 °C

It's hard to believe that we made it to our final destination! Although Denmark wasn't originally on our list of countries to visit we had to make a pit stop since we found cheap tickets on Norwegian Airlines.

We're glad we got a quick glimpse of this city as we surprisingly liked it for not knowing what to expect. Yes, it was freezing and yes, it got dark by 4:30pm but we made the most of our two days there. We were surprised by a few things: almost everyone rides a bicycle even when it's 30 degrees out, everyone's English is so good you wouldn't even know it was their second language, and the people seem happy despite income tax rates as high as 68%. The city was expensive like most Scandinavian countries, but pristine and safe as well.

We also got to celebrate Mitch's birthday by experiencing a 5 course Danish meal at a trendy restaurant.

    Silvester in Kopenhagen

    December 31, 2019 in Denmark ⋅ ☀️ 6 °C

    Tivoli

    October 30, 2019 in Denmark ⋅ ⛅ 3 °C

Das Hauptziel von dieser Stadt war der Vergnügungspark Tivoli. Seit langer Zeit ist das 80m hohe Kettenkarussell The Star Flyer auf meiner Wunschliste.... Also nix wie hin. Und zur Halloweenzeit umso toller beleuchtet. Herrlich.Read more

    Copenhagen - Denmark

    April 5 in Denmark ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

Read more

The Most Wonderful Day in Copenhagen

    November 25, 2019 in Denmark ⋅ ☁️ 5 °C

A day spent in great company (Javi, Sandra and Harriet) in great places!

First we took a trip up the aesthetically pleasing Rundetaarn (Round Tower), a tower made in a way which allows horses to trot to the top - highly recommend! Then we visited The Lego Store - because Denmark.

Our day concluded in the Most Wonderful Place in Copenhagen - Tivoli Gardens. It was the most Christmassy place I've ever seen! The thrill of the rides, festive decorations and cosy stalls made me giddy with excitement, with just 1 month to go until the big day!

Day 3 Copenhagen - Christianborg Palace

    August 3, 2018 in Denmark ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

    So the day could start.

Walked to see the Winter Garden at the Glytptotek museum, the museum was closed and we planned to come back in the afternoon.
    Well that was another story.

Lovely little garden at the back of the museum with the biggest bees north of the Pennines.

On to the Christianborg Palace which is a combination formal Royal Residence, Parliament building, Prime Minister's Office and Supreme Court.
It’s a big place. Has 4 four museums and a lovely garden. Cleanest, best kept building like this we have ever seen.
Helps when politicians have skin in the game.
There has been a structure on the site since the 12th century and is the founding location of Copenhagen. The palace has burnt down twice and was only rebuilt in 1927. When it was last burnt in 1884, one of the problems with putting oot the fire was that the firemen were refused entry to the main hall of the place because the floor had just been waxed. Talk about house proud!
Excellent way to spend the morning.
We do not think this area has a drunk problem.
