    Runter kommen sie alle

    May 12, 2018 in Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

I survived Lukla Airport!

Super Fotos, I Love Nepal! Anapurna-Trek war fantastisch.

    October 14, 2016 in Nepal ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Pro Platte so ca. 10-12 kg.

    EBC Tag 1 : Phakding - 2610m

    November 8, 2019 in Nepal ⋅ ⛅ 0 °C

Day 2 Via Lukla to Phakding

    September 25, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Mountain flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding.

The mountain flight into Lukla was spectacular and the landing an exciting beginning to the trek - one end of the runway is 60m higher than the other.

In Lukla, we met up with sherpa guides and porters before heading off on the trek towards Phakding. Followed the Dudh Kosi, the river that flows down from the Himalayas, crossing hanging bridges along the way. Saw the mani stones, which boulders carved with Buddhist inscriptions. Lots of pine and cedar woods. +- 7km trek.

    Accommodation : Shangri-La Guest House

    Paiya to Phakding

    April 20, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

    -Elevation 2610 m

Today we walked 14 km and my slightly sore throat has developed into an upper respiratory infection. We have finally hit the main trail to Everest Base Camp and there are many more tourists on this trail. It is very different than what we've experienced so far. As grueling and difficult as these days have been, it was lovely to see the less touristy side of Nepal.

The people here are amazingly tough. They have to be because they carry everything they need for many miles. Apparently, all supplies are trucked into Phaplu, where we started, and then carried everywhere else. It's taken all our strength to walk from Phaplu with just a day pack on our backs, never mind some of the loads we've seen people carrying. You just cannot match the toughness of these people.

We stayed in a very upscale teahouse in a room with its own bathroom sporting a western toilet and a shower. The tea house had a large dining area but the food was the same as we experienced all along.

    Quest For Everest - Day 2 - Part 1

    December 10, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ 🌙 2 °C

We were awake at 4am for our departure to lukla airport, known as the most dangerous airport in the world due to its location and short runway. I have to say it was a really pleasant flight, the scenery was stunning, flying so close to the mountains with a view of snow capped mountains in the distance was a memory I will never forget.

We landed at lukla, had breakfast and headed on our way to our first sleepover - Pkakding (2610m)

    Quest For Everest - Day 2 - Part 2

    December 10, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ 🌙 2 °C

We left Lukla (2840m) on a 3 hour trek towards Phakding (2610m) which means we actually lose 230 metres. it was a relatively easy trek with a few hard bits but I guess a warm up for tomorrow. Slight headache with the altitude but nothing to worry about.

We crossed our first of many suspension bridges. These are high!! And sway!! Very well built though so felt safe.

The shading views around me mixed with lines of cows and people randomly saying namaste is just incredible.

I’m looking forward to what’s coming up!

Tomorrow is a long day, an 11km trek taking 7 hours and gaining an elevation of 830 metres
