    Und dann war Herbst

    September 6 in Slovenia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

    Space Sleepers

    May 31 in Slovenia ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Last night we slept in space capsules with lots of gizmos and buttons and even a mini tv in each capsule! The Central hotel had been renovated and the hotel was left with a huge amount of empty space which they turned into space capsules! We had to open the capsules with a key card and inside their was a mini fire extinguisher, a remote for the tv, a giant mirror, and a tray which collapsed on you if you took it off the wall! Once you were inside the capsule you have a choice of four different lights, two reading lights, one mirror light and even a blue LED light and you could change the brightness of each light with a small pad beside the light. Although it looked really cool there were still some downsides, the air conditioning couldn’t be turned down and some of the vents wouldn’t open so it was extremely hot! The tv didn’t actually work so that didn’t help, finally the light outside the capsules couldn’t be turned off so it was on the whole night and even with the capsule door closed it was still very bright! Outside the capsule room there were two foosball tables and a bar/restaurant which had free juice coffee and tea.
    Talk to everyone soon!

    May 19 in Slovenia ⋅ 🌧 63 °F

I considered waiting before leaving Tolmezzo and I'm glad I didn't.
Check in here at the hostel is 3pm so I thought I'd get there early, leave the bike and go for a walk. That turned out to be a great plan. It was only a two and a half hour ride and the weather to my left all the way looked very dark however it didn't rain on me and it was warm.
I had time to visit the cathedral and a museum before heading back to the hostel to officially check in an be assigned a bunk in the four bed room. I'm sharing with an American who lives in Borneo, a Russian who is a bit weird and the fourth bed is still empty. Heavy rain started just as I settled in the room for a chat. I can hear someone playing guitar in the recreation lounge so I'll go take a look soon.

    Enjoying Ljubljana

    June 1 in Slovenia ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

We spent a relaxing day strolling the pedestrian-only city center of Ljubljana. After sleeping in a little, we met Mark and Carina at an outdoor cafe for a kava (coffee). The Ljubljanans enjoy their riverside restaurants, good locally sourced food, excellent wines, and music, so we joined in! We strolled the city, did a little shopping, tried some gelato, visited the Tivoli Gardens (stopping for coffee and lemonade, of course), and enjoyed an excellent dinner at Julija Restaurant. The weather was beautiful, except for a brief shower during dinner. The waiter just scooted the table farther under the umbrella and we were fine.
After dinner, we strolled a bit more, as Carina was on the hunt for kremšnita. Mark had noticed a little bar called Nostalgia, so we ended there for pivo (beer) and drinks.
On our way back to our hotel, we noticed a gallery with some cool interactive lighting displays, so we stopped in there. We also looked in on a gin festival in the courtyard of a former monastery. I thought the security might check our ID and say we were too old, but they let us in. We didn't stay long, but enjoyed the music and people-watching.

    Capitale de la Slovénie...?!

    June 30 in Slovenia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Ljubljana ! 😊🍻

    Day 7: Ljubljana

    July 15 in Slovenia ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C
