    Who let the dogs out

    October 13 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

We had an early start and went to the Charleston Navy Yard in Boston, then out of town again to Marblehead and Salem, supposed to be very pretty villages. On the way we saw lots of weird and colourful vintage cars (and ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man fittingly playing on the radio, for those who remember the video) to take part in a Witch Ride in Swampscott. Marblehead is as nice as described in the guide, with a nice cafe to cater even for the many dogs around (see menu). Salem turned out to be one big traffic jam. As the center of witches and witchcraft today was (as googled later) another day full of events of the Horror Fest, the little town full of bikers and tourists. So we rather headed back into Boston to return the rental car a day early. We walked to the Museum of Fine Arts (kind of on a mission... 😉), did see a couple of works we liked but could not take, and the dog theme of the day continued... Another traffic jam and some cool rubber ducks in the Uber on the way back to the hotel did end our day.
Note: Back to 13700 steps, burned calories refilled with appropriate 🐧🐧.

    Cuppa tea time?

    November 3, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 11 °C

We did a hop on hop off tour of Boston today and spent a bit of time at the Boston Tea Party museum which included throwing crates of tea overboard and drinking hot tea to celebrate. We also went to Quincy markets for lunch and a Blue Man Group performance - loved it all.

    June 8 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

    June 7 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

    USA Tour - Boston, Massachusetts

    November 14, 2018 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 -1 °C

So... this is it. The start of my big adventure, although weirdly I’m not nervous or worried at all. Not even a little bit. I’m so excited I don’t have time for thoughts like that. I just want today to start ASAP. I flew into Providence, Rhode Island which is the next state over and got a train from there into Boston. The train journey was pretty uneventful as was the flight over to be fair. But as soon as I stepped out of that station, and saw Boston for the first time, it was at that moment I knew I couldn’t waste a second or let a moment pass me by.

The lights, the sounds and the ice cold air hitting me in the face was a feeling I won’t forget.

It was quite late when I got all checked into my hostel which was ‘HI BOSTON’ so I decided to go for a drink and then get some sleep ready for my first full day on my adventure....

    June 8 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Read more

The Big apple.
Vi lavede er lor stop i New haven. Toilet besøg og proviantering.

    Last (full) day in USA

    April 28, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C

Today we left New York by bus, back to Boston, for our last night in US.
The trip, disappointing this time - bus leaving with more than 45mins delay from NY, crowded highways - brought us in Boston in almost 6h (originally planned 4h30). If before it was not so visible, now, coming from NY, you really notice the difference - directly from the bus terminal.
By being smaller, Boston is somehow more compact, cleaner, less noisy, but still very impressive. I loved NY for what it represents, for diversity and its symbols, but I would never live there. I really love the „intimate“ Boston, with its historical importance that they preserve so well.
Our hotel is now very close to the Boston Harbor, in a more „fancy“ area of the city. We seem to be cross the street from a very popular club (the way people are dressed and the queue at the entrance indicate that), and also very close to locals that serve fresh sea-fruits.
It was very easy to decide what to have for dinner: lobster!!! I had the first lobster (and 2 🦀) in my life: very delicious, even if difficult to get to it.
We will start tomorrow with a short run in the harbor area - enjoying the view on the city and the river / ocean that „guards“ it for one last time.
