    San Clemente

November 28, 2015 in the United States

We are the masters of arriving at our destination just after sunset, and San Clemente was no exception. Kari, a friend of our friend Diana back in the Yukon, hosted us remotely as she was away for the weekend; we were thrilled to have a shower and a comfy bed after one of our bigger days of riding (~120 km). We went out for a sushi dinner and stumbled on a Christmas market on the way home as we walked the lively lit up streets of San Clemente. All in all it was a pretty great day riding on the coast!Read more

    6: San Clemente

January 18 in the United States

Our bags are packed, the piles have been

August 1, 2014 in the United States

Evie is insisting that she sees the golden gate bridge. I am hoping that the view from across the bay will suffice but I have a strong feeling we will end up in San Fran. We plan to leave by 5am so we should have time to stop in, but we will see how bugged we are by the time we get there.

Major is bummed he is not going on an airplane. He says it is his favorite part of vacation. He also wants to know if chickens can swim, so I guess he is excited?

Bernie is, he has been hyper for three days. As soon as David packed his suitcase Bernie somehow knew he was going. Its like when David puts on his tennis shoes and Bernie starts losing it thinking he is going for a walk.

Me? I am looking forward to getting a shot of the van with everyone outside of it. I am looking forward to seeing my first giant redwood. I am looking forward to the wildlife and the coastline up there.

David, well....I think he is excited. :) He was excited for the swimming hole and fishing. I think he is secretly the most excited to see how much he can cram in the van. He is even putting the luggage case on top of the van. We are going to look epic.

    We left 5 minutes early!

August 2, 2014 in the United States

So we started our trip! The kids were great about waking up at 440am.

Let's see, two blocks later I am unbuckling to reach for something for Major. As soon as we get on the 5, a strap from the roof thing was horribly flapping. Evie was loudly singing her own made up song by Mission Viejo.

Bernie has almost the whole back to himself, just two pieces of luggage back there with him.

    3 Hours until San Fran-

Who knew there was so much farmland? Oh, and Bernie ate Evie's fishing pole.

    San Clemente, California, USA

October 20, 2015 in the United States

Read more
