    We visited the local temple in Galeshaw which is apparently a sacred pilgrimage site. We saw 3 buses in a row come (which made us excited that we wouldn't need to wait too long for the bus) only to find they were buses coming specifically for this temple. We waited some more...and then decided to get a bus going back to Beni for a better chance to get our bus to Tatopani. As we got into Beni there was of course a bus leaving for where we wanted to go, so we hopped on this bus and experienced more bumpy ride to get to Tatopani. We wanted to do some walking today, however I had little energy after not eating a huge amount in the past 24hrs, so we stopped and also changed our trekking plans with the amount of time we have plus the road conditions with the beginning of monsoon season setting in.Read more

    Day 9 Jomsom to Tatopani

    June 16 in Nepal

    Bumpity bump and more bumpy than a camel ride can describe our bus trip down to Tatopani today. Taking 5-6hrs to cover 55km on what in some sections could barely be described as road. We had an hour stop for some 'road works', which generally means fixing the road after a landslide. Saw a herd of goats pass in front of the bus, including one goat which had literally just given birth. Drove through lots of running water (which Lila found very amusing). And the bumpy ride must have been somewhat rythmic, as Lila also managed to sleep for a short period!Read more

    Läuft ...

    November 2, 2015 in Nepal

    Nachdem wir in Jomsom nach 14 Tagen ununterbrochen Wandern endlich mal ein Ruhetag eingelegt haben, die Ausrüstung und Sachen bissl gereinigt und den Tag genossen haben, ging es danach hart weiter. Die beiden folgenden Tage sind wir jeweils um die 25km gelaufen, und das im Gebirge. Nun in Tatopani angekommen haben wir uns dafür mal ein Bad in den heißen Quellen gegönnt ... das war ziemlich geil :)

    Tatopani - Annapurna Day 13 (End)

    November 1, 2015 in Nepal

    23 km travelled. Finally back at a normal altitude (in the 1000s) and enjoying the easy walks through shaded groves of banana trees and meadows of wild flowers. Several views of the Annapurna Range presented themselves today as we walked through the more concentrated agrarian villages along the many converging mountain streams. Tatopani, directly translated as "hot water", is known among trekkers for its natural hot springs. After over a week on being chilled to the bone by high altitude nights and the late afternoon mountain winds that precede them, nothing sounds better than a few hours acting like an old man in nature's jacuzzi.Read more

    Tag 10: Muktinath --> Tatopani

    November 14, 2016 in Nepal

    Heute geht es mit Bus weiter nach Tatopani. Mit dem Bus? Nicht ganz: in Gasa müssen wir umsteigen aber es gibt keinen Anschlussbus. Also ziehen wir uns wieder die Wanderschuhe and gehen zu Fuß weiter. Die letzten 13 km absolvieren wir in 3 Stunden. Zur Belohnung gibt es abends ein kühles Bier in den Hot Springs von Tatopani.
