      Seoul - Day 2

      With so few historical buildings remaining, we wanted to check out the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Apparently entry is free if you turn up wearing traditional clothing but we couldn't decide who of us would get to wear the pretty dress and who would get the cool hat. 🤷

      For lunch we learned how to make original Kimchi in the Bukchon Hanok Village, an area with older style buildings. Our Kimchi is currently fermenting in our hold luggage. 😂

      In the Bukchon Hanok Village, there are hundreds of packed cafes, but we managed to get into one selling Bingsu - a Korean shaved ice dessert. We went for Mango and have zero regrets. The portion sizes in Korea have been really generous so far and it is apparently much more of a food sharing culture than Japan. Good for us who want to try everything. :-)

      We also finally tried one of the ubiquitous self foto studios - basically a shop full of photo booths that provide you with cute props and hats etc. There really has been a shop like that in almost every street and it is a lot of fun to be fair. If anyone visits Seoul any time soon, you might spot our picture…

      In a final attempt to find Korea's best chicken, we walked through the high rises and saw a beautiful sunset before finally soaking our weary feet on the rooftop foot spa.      Read more

      סיכום קוריאה

      אז ביומיים האחרונים חזרנו לסיאול המדהימה והצלחנו למצוא מלא דברים חדשים לעשות בה,

       ביום הראשון הלכנו לשוק פשפשים מטריף ביותר שמכר מצלמות וטלפונים בני חמישים שנה ויותר , שלל קונסולות ישנות ומלא מרצ'נדייז מקורי ממלחמת קוריאה שהיה מגניב ביותר לראות ולהתרשם ממנו. אחרי זה גם אכלנו שם במשבעה המקומית והתחלתי קצת לאהוב את המנות בשר מאיברי חזיר שונים ושומניים למרות שאין ספק שאותם נשאיר לקוריאה. אחרי זה קצת שוטטנו בין החנויות וינטאג' הרבות שיש פה ונראה באמת שסיאול פיצחה את אומנות התיירות של המערב והיא מציעה שפע בלתי נגמר של עיסוקים שממש מונגשים עד אליך . כיף.

      אתמול הלכתי עם חברים שהכרתי לטפס על איזה הר באיזור בטיפוס שהיה אמור להיות קליל אבל בפועל היה די מאתגר ואפילו קצת מסוכן מה שהכניס מלא אנדרנלין לטיפוס וממש עשה חשק לחזור כבר לטבע . כמובן שהיינו המערביים היחידים שם אז זכינו להצטלם עם מלא חבורות של קוריאנים שעם אחת מהן אפילו המשכנו לטייל והצלחתי לנהל אחלה שיחת גוגל טרנסלייט עם אחד מהם.

      לכבוד הערב האחרון ישבנו עם קריסמס חברינו הקוריאני מהערב הראשון לבילוי חגיגי אחרון ואפילו פגשנו איזה הומלס שמוכר יין אורז בשם מאקוגלי ומזמר מילים באיטלקית וקריסמס הכיר מימיו כסטונדט

      הוא התעקש להיות השוגר דאדי שלנו (למרות התנגדות קלה ביותר כיף עם הנדיבות הקוריאנית), ושיכר אותנו במועדון היפ הופ עם מלא קוריאנים שהיו חברותיים ומרימים והיה מגניב רצח וסגר בטוב את החוויה

      עכשיו כבר עם הפנים ליעד הבא שהוא גם האחרון לטיול זה😔, לפגוש את איתוש באי וודאות המרגשת והמושכת של מונגוליה הקפואה (מינוס שש באולן באטאר היום בלילה) מעניין הולך להיות בטוח , מקווה לחזור עם כמה שיותר מורקים בשביל הקוראים הצעירים פה בקהל      Read more

      Namsan Tower

      Levé à 9h, on marche plus d’1h pour aller voir la tour Namsan ! (Il y avait beaucoup d’escalier c’était un enfer 😂😩)
      On avait le beau soleil ☀️
      On a pu monter en haut de la tour depuis laquelle nous avions une superbe vue sur l’ensemble de Séoul !

      Day 61, Happy Easter!

      Happy to celebrate Easter back at Changdong Yumpwang Presbyterian Church. Beautiful service with huge choirs, children to adult, soloists, and orchestra. Met up afterwards with a young couple - she American and he Korean, plus their little son, Logan - for lunch. Sarah’s mother is a fellow painter and dear friend with Linda. Small world - Sarah’s parents are also good friends with our neighbors, the Wallaces, in Madeira. Spent part of the afternoon wandering in our neighborhood, Hongdae, which is filled with young people and dozens of cafes featuring coffee and cake. I’m convinced they must be eating lots of kimchi when they get home. 😎🍰😎Read more

      Namsangol Hanok Village

      Aujourd’hui nous avons visité un très joli village ancien. On a pu voir comment ils vivaient à l’époque et on a également eu la chance de pouvoir jouer à des jeux anciens.
      En fin de journée nous avons été manger dans un restaurant local perdu dans une ruelle sombre. 😂

      Seoul - Day 3

      For our final day in Seoul, we felt like we needed a crazy dessert breakfast, so we visited Hongdae, the student part of town. We got a seat at a coffee shop for what was honestly the best tiramisu we've ever had.

      After having a little walk through the area we split our lunch in two different instant Ramen experiences - first, we visited a 24 hour Manga Library Cafe (it's a thing) where you can spent hours upon hours in cozy nooks reading comics, watching Netflix or playing games and if you get hungry, just make yourself a delicious instant Ramen and add some provided toppings like egg, cheese or kimchi. We got our second instant Ramen (or in Korea: Ramyun) at the Ramyun library, a convenience store with a huge Ramen selection and very fancy machines where you scan the barcode of your ready meal and it knows how to cook it best. Mind blown!

      We then sadly made our way to the airport hotel, in what turned out to be the nicest hotel of the trip (and we really had some great stays!) Let's just hope our packing is adequate for our 14 hour flight. 😱      Read more

      Besuch bei Kim (😉) - Südkorea

      Okay der Besuch fand nicht bei Kim, sondern bei seinem Nachbar statt 🇰🇷

      Wir verbrachten 1 Woche in der Hauptstadt Seoul und waren wirklich begeistert. Sehr moderne Stadt mit wunderschönen alten und neuen Bauten sowie leckerem Essen und immer top gestylten Menschen 💁🏻‍♀️.

      Die Stadt pulsiert förmlich, ist aber trotzdem eher leise und dunkel (im Gegensatz zu anderen Grossstädten).

      Highlights of the week:
      - Verwöhnprogramm für Angela‘s Haut (Korea is sehr berühmt für deine Skincare Produkte) 💆🏼‍♀️
      - Fantastisches Essen 🍜🥟

      Flops of the Week:
      - Kreditkarte wurde gleich nach der Landung beim Geldabheben eingezogen💳
      - Bei Angelas Verwöhnprogramm wurde ausersehen eine „whiting“ Behandlung beigemischt. Sie verlor somit ihre ganze Bräune ⚪️🙅🏼‍♀️      Read more

      Seoul - dickes Sorry an Südkorea

      Mitte Dezember von Thailand nach Südkorea zu fliegen, war hart. Der Temperaturunterschied von 50 Grad fühlte sich erst nicht schlimm an. Von der Familie einer befreundeten Koreanerin hatte ich dicke Winterklamotten geschenkt (!) bekommen. Nachdem ich aber meine Freunde getroffen und einmal feiern gegangen war, raffte mich zum wiederholten Mal eine Erkältung dahin, die mich die gesamten zwei Wochen in Korea kostete. Meine Pläne, die Grenze nach Nordkorea, Jeju Island sowie Busan zu besuchen, waren schnell vergessen und ich probierte einfach, mit Schlafen, Tee und Suppe wieder auf die Beine zu kommen - ohne nennenswerte Erfolge. Erst an den letzten zwei Tagen konnte ich mich außerhalb von Hongdae in Seoul umsehen. Immerhin habe ich Korean BBQ, Tteokbokki, Kimchi und vieles mehr ausprobiert. In Erinnerung werden mir die vielen schönen Cafés und Restaurants bleiben, genauso wie die stilvoll gekleideten Koreaner. Außerdem hat in der U-Bahn fast ausnahmslos jeder unter 60 Jahren ohne Unterbrechung aufs Smartphone gestarrt - etwas beängstigend.

      Ich habe dann auch noch den Deutschen Caner kennengelernt- ein sehr guter Mann, mit dem ich jetzt schon eine tolle Zeit in Tokyo hatte. Hier bin ich an zwei Tagen schon 36 Kilometer zu Fuß umhergedackelt und bin wieder ziemlich fit. Dazu gibts aber später mehr. Guten Rutsch an alle meine Follower 😂      Read more
