Our longest walk to date. Fourteen miles (including two ferries). Another hot one. Think we will need a rest day soon. At last says Jon 😅.
Drove across North Island to the west coast. Visited the scared, oldest and largest kauri tree, Tane Mahuta or Lord of the Forest. Try our new game ‘Where’s Chezza?’ in the photo of the tree.
Latest camp site. Very blue lake. Another warm day. The weather is being kind so far. Epic views on the road trip.

Walked along the Waikato river in Hamilton to Hamilton Botanic Gardens. Amazing variety of enclosed gardens. Including Egyptian, Chinese, Japanese, Māori and an English flower garden.
Drive to Waitomo ready to visit the famous glow worm caves tomorrow. Visited an arboretum on the way just outside Hamilton. We like trees. Then a walk near the glow worm caves. More lovely scenery.Baca selengkapnya

Short walk in Pureora Forest. One of New Zealand’s oldest and unspoilt forests. Then a drive to Rotorua stopping off to see the largest and oldest Totara tree. Easy to spot Chezza this time 😃
