    Prepatation @home for 2023 ✈️

    I decided after 3 month travelling in South East Asia that I want to travel for ~5 months in South and Central America. 🌎 I also decided to celebrate Christmas and new Year in Germany, so that I can rest at home.

    I already booked a flight to Buenos Aires over Madrid in the evening of the 3rd of January 2023.
    I can adjust now some travel stuff because I learned a lot about (solo) traveling. I am really looking forward to travel trough Latin-America for ~5 months.💪🏽

    Goodbye Germany!

    After ~1 month in Germany I will start my ~5 months journey primary trough South America and to maximum 2 countries in Central America.

    I really enjoyed celebrating Christmas and new year close by my friends and my family. The time at home gave me new power to travel again. To see my closest persons made me, especially at this time, very happy and was good for me.

    I can't wait for the journey to continue!
    19h of transfer will be quite hard, but I am in practice with this from Asia now💪🏽    Baca lagi

    Arriving in Buenos Aires & Palermo

    Without any problems I arrived after a long transfer in Buenos Aires at the airport. I took a bus, as recommended in my south-America Book-guide, to the Center. (11€🧐)

    There I had a nice conversation with an Argentinien mommy and she mentioned that the Argentina persons are more like the Italians and not like the Spain #interesting. The inflation is also nearby 100%😮

    After I checked In, I wanted to buy a SIM card. That was not so easy without any Spanish skills. With Google translator I arranged to activate the SIM card (The woman entered her passport ID, that I have not to go to the SIM card provider). She also paid 1,5€ to load up my SIM card, because I only had USD. Wow, so amazing.

    Although I was exhausted after the flight, I walked around the city. I saw a lot of nice parks (especially the Japanese & the German Park) in Palermo. After that I visited a public National Museum, which was very impressive and interesting.

    In summary the city has an special European touch, with a nice mixture of modern and more old buildings. I really like this!

    Now I am early at my hostel, because the day and the transfer was exhausting.    Baca lagi

    Retiro&La boca by feet & bar

    On the next day I went to the south of Buenos Aires by myself to see some sights in Argentina. I saw the biggest cathedral in Buenos Aires, plaza de mayo and the residence of the president. ( in every metro exit you see Jesus christus because they are very religious here). After that I went to la Boca, where I saw caminito(colourful houses). This area is quite a tourist trap, because they want to sell you there everything. I also saw the nova juniors Stadion In the evening I met three british guys from the hostel and we went to a bar.     Planning, partying & San Telmo

    After I met Lilli (German) and Anaëlle(France) in the hostel, I decided to travel with them. They already booked bus tickets to Iguazu and to bariloche. So I booked 3x a bus ticket at the bus station, where it was very hard without any Spanish, but it worked💪🏽 lilli got robbed nearby a favella at the bus station and another chile girl from the hostel got during clubbing her handy robbed 🥶 but I am fine😎

    I also went with the 3 chile girls at the evening to Palermo, which was nice💪🏽😎(Javi, Olivia, Inga)

    At the next day I went with Lilli and Anaelle(and their friends+ Ryan) to the same places I went the days before. Also we went to San telmo for trying to dance tango😂💪🏽
    Anaëlle and myself cooked without a lot of skills in the kitchen after that, and it was so funny😂

    After that we went to a very big night club, which students organised and it was a very nice party!

    Now we are heading to the Iguazu falls with the bus (~20h). We will leave our backpack at the flat of a friend of Anaëlle, which is very nice 😂

    To get in touch for the first time with South America and the vibes there… it is already amazing 😍 Argentina is quite busy for backpacking currently, so the prices are with the inflation rate of ~100% quite high.

    (A bus/metro ticket cost with the blue rate 0,1€, so very cheap.
    The blue rate is, that if you withdraw money from an atm you get a normal currency exchange, 180:1€, but if you withdraw it with western union, you get 360:1€, which I didn’t know before starting my trip.
    And I hope that the quality of the pictures will get better 😂)    Baca lagi

    Foz di Iguacu in Brazil

    After a drive of 18h with the bus to Puerto Iguazu (I was able to sleep ~13h😂) we arrived and went after check-In in the hostel at 12:00 to the Brazil side of the Iguazu falls. It was a very nice day.

    We saw a lot of butterflies and 2 bigger lizards. We also got wet, when we went down on a little bridge, where we were very close to the falls.
    I am looking forward to the Argentinian side of the falls tomorrow.

    In any case, the pictures don't even begin to show how big and beautiful nature was there…

    It is also mentionable, that I was in brazil(😂💪🏽), when idiots wanted to putsch the government.    Baca lagi

    Iguaaaaaazuuuuuuu falls in Argentinia

    After we woke up, we bought some food for the Iguazu National park in Argentina. We catched the bus at 9:45 and payed ~15€ (same price as in Brazil).

    The argentinia side is much bigger and first we explored some waterfalls. On the way to the first waterfall we saw ~10 monkeys, which was nice!

    We also saw at that way a “Gürteltier”, which was the first time for me (I also saw a crocodile and some salamanders!).

    At the end we walked ~6h trough the park and it was very nice to see the big falls closer compared to the Brazil side. Unfortunately some places were not acessable, because some bridges were broken 1 month ago..

    It was amazing to see both sides, but if I have to choose, the Argentina side is better.(But on the Brazil side you have a better view of all falls)

    We also saw Amadeus and Lucie (UK) from Buenos Aires again, because they arrived today in Puerto Iguazu as well.

    After arriving in Puerto Iguazu again, we went to a place where we saw two river crossing. We were able to see the Argentinian, Paraguay and Brazil side at once!

    Tomorrow we are heading to Buenos Aires and then to bariloche (Beginning of Patagonia in the north.

    I decided to skip the rest of Patagonia in Argentina (El chalten, el calafate and Ushia). El chalten had unfortunately no accommodation 10 days in advance!!🥲 and for only the Perito Moreno in el calafate it is not worth it for me to go there. Fucking main season..

    I will head to Puerto Varas and Santiago de Chile after Bariloche I think.    Baca lagi

    Iguazu falls✅5h stay BA 🔜Bariloche

    In the evening of the second day in Puerto Iguazu we also cooked some food #freestyle #wraps.

    In the morning our hostel owner showed us, how you make Mate 🧉 in the perfect way. (45 % ankle of the mate, only a little bit water. It is better than coffee, because coffee only pushes you shortly. Because you drink mate slowly and you fill up the water often, you get energy all the time. Do not move the straw! 80% mate, 20% hot/cold water. When u move the straw inside the mate cup at the first time, hold him shut. The first swallows are sour, you puck them out. As a flavour you can add the peel of a orange or a little bit tee. After your thermo- bottle full of water is empty, you change the mate cup. Everyone has his own mate cup and straw and in the best way inside of the mate-cup aluminium. I already saw a lot of people at the bus transfers as well at the Iguazu falls with this thermo-bottles.

    We arrived in BA after 21 1/2 hours of bus drive. The drive was ok, I was able to sleep over night.

    After annaell and Lilly picked up money from western union, we went to their friend to pick up our backpack. She made pancakes and coffee for us🥹. (The friend is living with 12 other people at a 3 floor apartment and they are all exchange students)

    Now 25h of bus drive to Bariloche are in front of us.

    Arriving in Bariloche

    After 26h of transfer we arrived in bariloche!!
    It was interesting to see, that 1-5h after starting in BA, everywhere on the way were cows.
    After that we drove trough very dry area and it looked like the route 66 in the USA. When we drove to Bariloche we already saw amazing lakes with an unbelievable nature.

    Bariloche is the beginning of Patagonia and it is a lake Distrikt as well as inside of the National Park Nahuel Huapi. We bought some food for the next days and I went to my hostels after dinner in the girls hostel.
    My hostel is in a camping area, very funny 😂.
    There I met Massimo, Lur, Caro and Delfina from Argentina. I had a nice evening at the bonfire. Amazing people and inspiring conversations. They also gave me recommendations for hiking in this incredible nature.

    I am really looking forward for hiking and being at the lake. I also booked my bus in 4 days to Puerto varas, a lake Distrikt in Chile.    Baca lagi

    Refugio frey, 9h hike, 32km in summary

    I already felt in love in bariloche! Now I unterstand why so many Argentinians are going to this place on holiday. The lakes & the nature are so amazing!! It remembers me to largo so Garda in Italy a little bit, without hiking.😂

    Today we made a 9h hike to the Frey Refugio. We had a cringe way at the beginning, so we went trough a path which was not given😂 we all got full of a thing I don’t know 😂

    On the way to refugio Frey we met a guy, who is sleeping over me at the hostel dorm, very funny😂
    At the top it began to rain and I was not prepared for that😂so little bit cold 🥶 we got in touch with Argentinians during eating and they gave us mate- amazing 😍

    Unfortunately Lilli hurted her knee, hopefully it will be better soon.
    In the evening I had dinner at the girls hostel. Because I met Maxi from the same town of myself I enjoyed the evening with him at the bonfire. So crazy, that I met him here at my accommodation!!    Baca lagi

    Chilling

    15 Januari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

    Today I had some phone calls with my family and friends in the morning. I also planned and booked my next places. I will stay 4 days in Puerto varas (lake Distrikt in Chile) and 4 days in Santiago de Chile (quieter long for Chile , but I can enjoy more my birthday in Mendoza with that.(I will met Javj from the hostel there again). I will take an overnight bus from Puerto varas to a Santiago.

    After that I made some yoga at the lake and chilled alone. I really enjoyed that!

    After that I met Lilli and annaell at the lake and we chilled together. We were also swimming to a little boat and chilled there, it was really relaxing. This is My first chilled day in Argentina and I enjoyed it very much. It was also very busy at the lake 😂 Sunday and holiday season in argentinia haha

    In the evening I chilled with Maxi and Stefan (his dad is traveling with him 3 weeks here!!! Amazing) as well as with annaell and Lilli at the bonfire after cooking together.

    Tomorrow is hiking day with anaell, before I will head to Puerto varas at the next morning. The 30 min drive to the bus station will cost me ~5000 pesos (15€🥹), because they don’t have Uber or cabify here..

    (The garbage cans in the public are different in some parts of Buenos Argentina as i have seen before in my life. To be honest, I don’t know what I should say about that🤷🏽‍♂️😂)    Baca lagi

    Hiking to Llao Llao

    Today I hiked with Annael to the Cerro Llao Llao. Unfortunately Lilli did not join because her knee still hurt es a little bith.
    So after breakfast with Maxi, Stefan and two Chilens we drove with the bus to the Swiss Region in bariloche.

    We hiked to the Llao llao 1 1/2h. The view and the nature was soooo amazing. I felt so in love with bariloche😍 because we expected, that the hike is longer we chilled out there and had a nice conversation with Argentinians. They gave us good recommendations for Mendoza and Salta/Jujuj.

    We had dinner at a beach and to see the mountains there.. wow😍

    After we arrived I made some stretching and meditation.

    In the evening I cooked a meal for all of us. An Argentinian guy gave us some spices and it tasted amazing. He also made barbecue and he gave me something of the meat. It was delicious 😍

    We chilled at the bonfire after that and I had to say goodbye to maxi, Stefan, Lilli and Annaell. I really enjoyed traveling with annaell and Lilli🥹. It was also very nice to see Maxi the last days at the bonfire and at breakfast.

    Tomorrow I will take a early bus at 7:30 to Puerto varas. So Chile is calling 😍😍    Baca lagi

    Arriving in Puerto Varas

    After all the people of the bus had to change to another bus at the half of the trip and with 2h delay, I arrived at 17:00 at Puerto varas.

    I tramped for the first time with another girl from the bus stop to the city😂 it took 30 seconds and someone picked us up.

    Puerto varas is a small city with very nice and chilled vibes and beautiful buildings. I walked the paseo patrimonial with amazing 19-Century German architecture and older buildings and houses, which was nice to see.

    Another place with another lakes, I really like it here 😍

    Chile is expensive. (3x big empanadas 8,5€) I would say kinda the same prices and in Europe, which surprises me a lot.    Baca lagi

    Nationalpark + vulcano Osorno

    18 Januari 2023, Chile ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    Today I went with Kiona (Belgium, 43) to the National park Vicente Pérez Rosales. I met her yesterday in the hostel and we also bought some empanadas for the hiking day at 22:30😂

    After we had breakfast at 8:00 at the hostel we went 1h with the bus at first to see the a river. We should have pay 8€ entrance fee, but we ‘entered with a tour group‘ so we payed nothing. We were a little disappointed because there was less water as it should be. After that we tramped to the entrance of the hike close to the volcano Osorno.

    After that we went ~18km hiking to a viewpoint. We found spat out volcano stone, which floated on the water. Amazing to see!! As well as the snow and the different colors of the Vulcano impressed me much! At half of the way we chilled at the lake, but the sand was quite hot.

    It was the first time for me that I hiked close by a volcano. What a nice experience! After that we drunk some beer on Puerto varas and I had a inspiring conversation with her at the peer. She also share her dinner with me.
    So I am going to bed without any plan for tomorrow😂. Not typical German as she mentioned😂    Baca lagi

    Biking to a Brewery + walking+partying

    19 Januari 2023, Chile ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

    Today in the morning Kiona and myself didn’t know what we should do. We decided to cycle ~3h and stop at a brewery and at a small city nearby called Llanquihue.

    We were informed, that we could rent a bike for 2h free, but we got it for 4h for free😂💪🏽

    But the internet sayed the brewery is not open, BUT they still gave us beer and a 50% discount because we arrived with the bike. The first 10 minutes were the hardest one, a already died at the beginning 😂

    After we arrived in the hostel, I went to a parque to soo Puerto varas from above.

    Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to Kiona, because this was her last day. Wow, I really enjoyed the deep conversations with her. Also also knee a mit of beer and she mentioned that the Belgium beer is more variant than the German beer🤷🏽‍♂️💪🏽

    Before dinner I went also to a crazy museum, where the owner was also there. (Museo Pablo Fierro ) Very nice experience and completely different as the museums I went to before. I also went to Iglesia Luterana.

    Tomorrow is rafting time!! For the first time of my life, lvl 3 of 5 at the beginning! Nice.

    In the evening I was pre drinking with two Germans(Celine and Isabella) and two Colombians from the hostel at the beach, where one of them is studying at the OTH😂. After that we went to a river bar, where the view was stunning at night 😍
    After that we went partying and is was an amazing night till 5:00😂💪🏽 I also drank piscola, a National drink in Chile.    Baca lagi

    Resting, planning and Rafting😍

    After a short night I was quiet lazy till my rafting trip at 14:30.
    I read more about the riots in Peru, so I almost decided to skip it unfortunately 🥲
    I also booked a Hostel in, and a bus transfer to, Mendoza. I want to celebrate my birthday at a wine yard💪🏽

    I had to say goodbye to celine and Isabella before the trip. I really enjoyed the time with them.

    My first rafting trip on class 3 was very nice! I met there two Chilen girls an US- Couple. We also jumped from a smaller cliff. The rafting was around 1h and we got beer and pizza after that. Wow, what an nice experience and day.

    In the evening I met Marie from Germany in the hostel again and we cooked together.

    (Chile: 40% of the habitants are living in Santiago de Chile, in Argentina 30% in Buenos Aires ;
    Around this region in the 19th century German people became land here to settle down so that more people should live there. That is the there are a lot of German buildings around here. A lot of people flew after and during the war in this region as well)    Baca lagi

    Puerto Varas ✅🔜santiago de Chile

    It is not much so say about today. I decided to do nothing, because I have seen everything in Puerto Varas with a full Programm the last days. So I learned Spanish and had phone calls with some friends at the seaside.

    I also spoke to three people there, which seemed to be that they are homeless people. I felt a little bit unsafe with them. They also asked at the end of the conversation if they can have money - I said no and they were pissed and angry😂 weird conversations and situation.

    I really enjoyed the two days with Kiona as well as the rafting and partying with Celine and Isabella. I really enjoy travelling again 😍

    Now I take a overnight bus to Santiago de Chile, which takes around 12h. For sure I booked the cheapest bus, but I got picked up at a residential area, which made me a little bit nervous, if it is really the right pick up point😂    Baca lagi

    Arriving in Santiago de Chile

    I arrived in the morning at 8:00 at the bus terminal. After I left my backpack at the hostel, I went to Cerro San Cristóbal (Viewpoint with a Christian Maria), where the biggest park of Santiago is also located. I hiked up trough the park and enjoyed the view over Santiago. You were able to see the biggest mountain outside of Asia (Aconcagua) and also the biggest building in Latin-America(Gran Torro).

    Then I went to the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, where I got in touch with Chiles History. To the way there, one tyre of my bus was exploding, but it was ok😂 to the history:

    With the help of US the military Pinochet putched the government (Allende) at the 11.11.1973. The current prime minister Allende gave himself the golden shot during the military was shooting at his president building. (+operation Condor)
    After that the dictatorship ended after 17 years.
    Nice museum, with English audio guide!

    After that I ate a traditional sausage of Argentina/Chile (Chorizo). It was ok😂(more greasy than German sausages)

    Then I headed to plaza de armes, where I felt the first time a little bit insecure and it I expected more😂. My last stop was the government building, where the president works.

    So a Long day after a ok bus transfer.

    Second day in santiago

    23 Januari 2023, Chile ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

    At the next day after a really nice breakfest at the hostel, I wanted to see the Park Lucia with nice buildings, but is was closed😂 on Monday a lot of things are closed here.

    I went to an huuuuge cemetery after that & it was impressive how the chilens are decorating the graves (Football, Clan-Flaggs, Felice Navidad). Also the former president Allende before Pinochet became dictator has his grave there. The different between urns and large tombs impressed me as well.

    After that I went to a big market, where I ate pistales (empanadas with Chilean dough and fried- really nice!). Because everything is closed on Monday I decided to go to another museum, where I listened to some very relaxed music. I enjoyed staying there!! Art is universal and doesn’t need a language. I stayed there quiete long and now I unterstand, why people like museum #raul😂

    In the evening we had pisco sour night at the hostel (Bec, Daniel, Guille). I have been there shortly & after that I catched up Javi again. I met her in Buenos Aires and she lives 25 min outside of Santiago. I had a nice & funny evening with her and her girls (Josefina, olgita, Carolina) at a bar.    Baca lagi

    Third day in santiago

    At the next morning I went to the Bahai-Tempel of South-America. Baha'iism is a worldwideand universal religion and it was invented in 1810 in the Arabic area.

    Baha'i believe that all religions build on each other. The individual founders of religions such as Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Muhammad and the Báb are seen as manifestations of God in history. In Germany Bahai has 6,000 followers and this was the only Bahai temple in South America! On every content is at last one Bahai temple.

    The whole city of Santiago. After that I went to the Cerro Lucia Park. I also saw Isabella again and we went to a pool party with the hostel in the afternoon/evening.

    To the way to the pool party Guille would closely be robbed. One men made the appear, that he is pucking and another one opened the funny bag of Guille. He had luck, that he was acting fast, so nothing happened at the end.    Baca lagi

    Chilling in santiago

    At the next day I went with Isabella to a big parque, where it looked like in Barcelona because of the palm trees.

    We went to another parque, where the police had a Razzia. When we were controlled by the police and only needed to say we are from Germany and they left without any other questions😂. I got again in touch how privileged I am, because I am a white men from Germany.
    In the evening we watched the sunset with friends of Isabella at an nice viewpoint.
    Because one female friend of Isabella is currently dating a “rich” Chilean (22), we were able to enjoy the rest of the evening on an rooftop with an pool in the best area in Santiago. (The father is the CEO for the Chilean CNN and her mother is a garden designer).

    I have never been in such a luxury house! We drunk wine and I really enjoyed the evening:)

    I had to say goodbye to Isabella and now I am on the way to Mendoza. I want to celebrate my birthday by enjoying one of the best wines in Argentina with an bike tour in Mendoza.    Baca lagi

    Wine tasting in 4 bodegas +Bday

    After breakfest I decided with 4 people from the hostel to make a wine tour. Mendoza is famous for its wine (especially Melvet) and that’s the reason why I did that! We were a girl from Austria, Lara, one girl from the US and one girl from Mexiko.

    We drove a little bit outside of the city with an Uber, where we rented bikes, which were not the best😂

    At the second bodega we met 4 France girls and an Israel couple of our hostel, so our wine tasting was with ~10 people😂after that we had an winery-tour there, how they explained how the procedure of their organic wine is.
    In one bodega we also tasted olive oil with bread. We were hungry and tipsy, which was nice 😂.

    When we gave back the bikes, we got free wine😂 soooooo nice in Mendoza haha (because in my hostel I have free wine as well😂)

    In the evening we ate pizza in our hostel and we celebrated into my birthday. It was a different birthday experience, to celebrate with people you are not so close to. But I really enjoyed it, because Lara organised the happy birthday song at 24:00. We went out and I had a really nice birthday night with the hostel.    Baca lagi

    Bookings+ Lago Potrerillos

    In the morning of my birthday I had to book a bus to cordoba. Because I knew I will have a hard day tomorrow in front of me, I had to do that at my birthday.

    In the afternoon I went with Lara and Jana and Charlotte (German) to the Lago Potrerillos with an Uber, where it was really nice to chill at my birthday. It was an relaxed day, especially after the wine tour and partying and drinking😂

    The view was amazing and we also went into the lake (but this has not been allowed)😂.
    We also played cards and went to an viewpoint close by. After enjoying a coffee with the same Uber driver, we went back.

    We arranged with the same Uber driver in the evening, that he will take lara, myself and one Canadian girl to the the place, where we can go to the base camp of Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside of Europe

    So lara and myself only went in the evening to an place close by, where there was an traditional Argentinian dance 😍

    Wow, what a chilled and nice day! We went to bed early, because we needed to wake up at 5:30.    Baca lagi

    Aconcagua base camp + Puerte de inca

    At 6:00 raul, our taxi driver picked us up. The drive was 4h, because he drove slowly and we made stops. At first at an amazing viewpoint at the Lago Potrerillos, where we have seen the sun rising up. What an view!!

    We also drove to Puerte de Inca, which is known for a bridge of the Incas. There was an Hotel before & a landslide destroyed it. Also there are thermal lagoons, which the mayas really loved.

    (—> so two stops we didn’t expected, because we “only” wanted to go to the base camp of Aconcagua, very nice from raul)

    We hiked up to the base camp of Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside of Asia. Not such a hard hike (3 1/2h, because the Canadian girl was sooo slow😂). But the nature there with the colours of the mountains were so fucking amazing… wow.. the pictures and videos are not showing that unfortunately🥲

    We ate to lunch at the base camp and went quite fast down, so that we can get the bus at 16:30. Unfortunately the Canadian girl was so slow, that she didn’t get the bus. We arrived at ~21:30 at the bus station.
    In the evening we got some food from jonas & I went out with him, Jana and Charlotte.
