Man? MAN kann das nicht?? Also bei mir klappt das soweit ganz gut. Problemlos.

Wirklich. Peter.

    Day 6/7, San Bada hotel

December 28, 2017 in Costa Rica

There was a rooftop bar that we relaxed at while watching the most amazing sunset! We were told we might get some good sightings of birds in the morning so we went back early. Instead of birds we had a group of capuchin monkeys stop by!

    Yesterday

    March 10 in Costa Rica

Yesterday was the last day at Anamaya. Didn't do too much. I had a body polish spa treatment. It was amazing! Walked down to the butterfly garden in the morning.

In the afternoon I walked to Montezuma by myself as I needed some me time. The goal was ice cream! The ice cream shop is the most popular place in town and is always crowded. 3,000 colones will get you three flavours in a cup. I walked back up all 7 hills. The first two are the worst. The last two are in the long drive way. I was so hot I had to lay on the balcony before getting in the shower.

Packed up before bed and went to bed early.

    Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio

    March 10 in Costa Rica

Today we left Montezuma for Manuel Antonio National Park. The mode of transportation was a water taxi and a shuttle van. The water taxi ride took about an hour to Jaco. We saw dolphins on the way and the boat stopped so we could watch them.

From Jaco, it was a shuttle van for another 1.5 hrs. I fell asleep on the way and awoke as we were driving in to the park. Manuel Antonio is incredible! It is also very hot! Today was 34 degrees but it feels so much hotter. I walked around the park a bit by myself as Tracy was having a shower. I found a nice shady spot under a tree. A park person came up to me and told me I need to be careful where I sit as the monkeys can knock the coconuts down and hit me in the head. So much for that nice shady spot. l have already seen monkeys, sloths and iguanas.

Tonight we went out for pizza and a few drinks. We took a cab and then tried to walk back but we ended up going 3km in the wrong direction so we decided to stop somewhere and call a cab when we realized we were going the wrong direction. On the walk we saw two sloths on the power lines, a short while later we saw another one. That was exciting for me as I really wanted to see a sloth. Looking forward to seeing more animals tomorrow.

    Manuel Antonio National Park

    March 11 in Costa Rica

Today we went for breakfast at a soda and had a really good Costa Rican breakfast. Their traditional breakfast is gallo pinto (rice and beans) and eggs. We ate the Costa Rican breakfast everyday in La Fortuna and it was good to eat it again. Sometimes you get plantains which we did today. The nice soda guy made us a ham and cheese sandwich and fruit container of watermelon, papaya and pineapple to take into the park. You can only take a sandwich and fruit into the park. They check your bags after you pay to enter to make sure you are not bringing anything else into the park.

We spent almost five hours in the park walking the trails. Our lunch tasted so good after all the walking. There are many trails to walk. There are also some beautiful beaches.

    Manuel Antonio National Park Frog

    March 11 in Costa Rica

We were almost finished walking in the park when I felt something cold and slimy on the back of my knee. I screamed and looked down. There was a frog on the back of my leg! I shook it off. We took pictures to check with the park rangers to make sure it was not poisonous. Luckily it wasn't.

    This Afternoon

    March 11 in Costa Rica

After the park, we took the local bus downtown to find an ATM. We looked in some shops and went for refreshments and a bite to eat at Rico Tico Jungle Grill which had an amazing view. There was a pina colada, passionfruit daquiri and then a mango daquiri which our waiter brought in a plastic cup and encouraged us to go in the pool. Luckily I had my bathing suit on under my clothes so I went for a quick swim.

We came back to our room exhausted around 7pm.

    Last day at Manuel Antonio

    March 12 in Costa Rica

Manuel Antonio is quieter today as the park is closed on Mondays. We hung out at the public beach in the morning for a bit. It is Tracy's birthday today. We went back to the Rico Tico Jungle Grill to eat and have a few drinks and see our favourite waiter, Cesar. As long as you have a drink they let you go into the pool. We spent the afternoon hanging out in the pool with a few drinks chatting with the other guests.

For the evening we went to a restaurant called El Avion. Their pub which is attached to the restaurant is an old cargo plane. The plane has a history in that it was part of a big scandal in the 80's under the Reagan administration.

As our shuttle leaves tomorrow at 8:00 am for San Jose, it is an early evening tonight.

    manuel antonio

August 1, 2015 in Costa Rica
