      Plitvička Jezera

      Gestern auf einem Campingplatz nahe der Plitzwitzer Seen eingecheckt. Für heute war Regen angekündigt, dabei wollten wir gern den Nationalpark besichtigen! Aber heute Morgen schien noch die Sonne, sodass wir spontan losfuhren und für den über 11 km langen Fußmarsch wenigstens die Gewitterflinte mitnahmen. Die Sonne hielt sich streckenweise sehr tapfer und als sie endgültig von der Wolkendecke verdrängt wurde, hatten wir schon den größten Teil hinter uns.
      Den Nationalpark als den ersten Kroatiens gibt es schon seit 1949 und seit 1972 gehört er zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO. Wir passierten ca. 10 der insgesamt 16 in verschiedenen hohen Stufen angelegten Seen mit ihren artenreichen Wasserfällen (einmal ging's mit dem Boot über den längsten See) und stiegen dabei allmählich von ca. 350 auf 650 Höhenmeter.
      Das Naturschauspiel mit den vielfältigen Schönheiten zu beschreiben ist wirklich nicht einfach, am Besten erzielt es seine Wirkung, wenn man es selbst vor Ort erlebt.
      Auf den ersten Blick bieten die Fotos nur sich wiederholende Ansichten von Wasser, das von oben nach unten fällt, aber es ist für uns immer wieder eine Freude, die schönen Details von Parkgestaltung und Landschaft zu betrachten.
      Übrigens, den Schirm haben wir bis zum Schluss nicht gebraucht.      Meer informatie

      Plitvička Jezera

      So definitely saw some different sights today.

      The Plitvice Lakes take your breath away. Waterfall after waterfall leading to crystal clear lakes. It really feels almost like a fairytale. You follow wooden walkways and take boats and a train/van/type/vehicle to get around. I don't think I can do it justice with an explanation so I have tried to pick the best 6 photos to give you an idea of what it is like. Though I am not sure that they show you how amazing it really is either. You will have just have to visit for yourselves!

      By the time we had arrived at the Lakes it was about 3pm and whilst it was quite busy I think a lot of people had come and gone. There is a lot to explore, hence we walked about 9 miles in the 4 hours we were there.

      On the drive into Plitvice we had noticed various red triangular road signs with pictures of bears... So Stuart was desperate to see a bear. He said that this would be even better than having seen the Pope or Nairo Quintana. If any of you however, have seen the documentary about bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell, as I have (thanks Amy) you would have shared my desperation NOT to see a bear. Also we worked out on our walk back to the B&B through the woods at dusk that all we had to defend ourselves was GoPro on a stick.

      Safely back at the B&B we had a meal of potatoes, salad with traditional Croatian meats and a paprika salsa, neither of which names I could repeat, cooked by the owner. It was absolutely delicious. I swear the sausage had some kind of melted cheese in it which for me was heaven.

      Now we are exhausted but looking forward to seeing the Capital tomorrow.      Meer informatie

      Nationalpark Plitvitzer Seen 1/2

      Entlang der Adriaküste fuhren wir gestern zu unserem zweiten Stopp für die nächsten drei Nächte. Heute wanderten wir durch einen Teil der beeindruckenden Seenlandschaft mit den zahlreichen Wasserfällen. Nachmittags schwammen und relaxten wir an einem Fluss in Slunj.Meer informatie

      Rainy Plitvice NP

      We arrive in the rain to the next National Park - these are the ones everyone talks about, but we can see it’s going to be a speedy tour through the park as the weather sets in for the day. The walks here typically are all stated to be longer than we’ve done before too, we choose the shortest 3- 4 hr walk and set off with everything waterproof that we’ve bought, and Coen in backpack.

      We get a couple of boat trips on this tour, extra excitement for the children and a welcome break from walking for Amelia. As soon as we leave the boat, Amelia asks if it’s time to get on the train..I don’t have the heart to tell her we’ve still got the entire 3 hour walk ahead, so the answer is ‘almost’!!

      As the path winds round the lake through some forest, we step onto the boardwalk and are thankful to have the backpack for Coen - a beautiful path but no railings - the path barely interrupts nature, but definitely adds an element of risk of a wet, slippery day. We walk over the wide falls, rivers and lakes for the rest of the walk until we climb back up to the cliff side. It starts with low falls that meander through the marshy grasses, and after following the sign for ‘the big waterfall’ we round the corner and are met with a breathtaking view of a giant waterfall - and thankfully an open space with no water below us where we can relax and not worry about anyone falling in the water for a minute. This fall is mammoth in height and makes us all feel quite small!!

      The path then climbs up high to give beautiful views over the many falls below, and Amelia now desperate to find the land train is pleased when we hear the sound of cars, meaning we must be close. We finish the walk, all soaked through to our underwear (except Nic who seems to be the only one who has bought a proper raincoat on our trip!) and ready for a rest...we bribe Amelia up the final hill with he promise of an ice cream, Coen and I get a bonus site of hundreds of tiny field mice as he takes a trip off the path and the ground literally comes alive with them.

      We decide to make some headway south as the weather is still rainy, so cook a quick pasta pot for kids and hit the road. As we almost have an empty fuel tank, we quickly head to the only fuel station only to find it closed! Lucky a local helps point us in the direction of the next town and we make it on fumes, and set off for an island due south.      Meer informatie

      Partenza per visita il National park PLitvicka Lezera .Una riserva forestale di 295 km² nella Croazia centrale. È noto per una catena di 16 laghi terrazzati collegati da cascate, che si estendono in un canyon calcareo. I viali e i sentieri escursionistici si snodano intorno ai laghi e una barca elettrica collega i 12 laghi superiori e i 4 laghi inferiori. Questi ultimi ospitano la Veliki Slap, una cascata di 78 metri.
      tutto il giorno a camminare in mezzo a un paesaggio incantato.
      All'uscita del parco ci sono tantissimi chioschi che cucinano carne alla griglia .Non poteva mancare un mega hamburgher prima di riprendere il viaggio ...destinazione Dubrovnik ..arrivo in serata e di nuovo si rimonta la tenda.      Meer informatie

      Plitvicka jezera

      HAMMER! 👌
      Ein wunderschöner Nationalpark, hier kann man Stundenlang Spatzieren/wandern und es gibt an jeder Ecke etwas zu sehen. Direkt am Wasserfall entlang zu den Fischen im glaskarem Wasser. Oder mit dem Paddelboot direkt rein in den Wasserfall.
      Es ist wirklich ein Wunderschöner Park den man auf jeden Fall besuchen sollte. Auch fahren Pendelbusse damit man sich nicht Totläuft, an 3 Stationen. Ich bin kein Freund des langen Latschens aber es hat sich hier definitv gelohnt.

      Plitvicer Seen

      Heute war u. 06.00 Uhr Tagwache. Kurz frühstücken, eincremen, aufräumen, alles Essen in den Rucksack packen und u. 07.04 Uhr Abfahrt zu den Plitvicer Seen. Das Navi zeigte total 3 Stunden an. Da sich aber niemand ans Tempolimit haltet, haben wir mehr als eine halbe Stunde aufgeholt. Sie Fahrt an sich war schon lohnenswert, schöne Aussichten aufs Meer und schöne Landschaften. Um ca. 10.00 Uhr kamen wir im Nationalpark an. Tickets kaufen (waren zuerst ein wenig über die Eintrittspreise erschrocken, Fr. 120.00. Ist aber gerechtfertigt, super schöne Wägli und alles tiptop dau er und in Schuss), Informationen abholen und ab die Post. So sind wir zuerst mit dem Bus und haben dann den ersten Teil besichtigt. Wirklich einfach nur schön. Nach einer kurzen Bootsfahrt und einem Fussmarsch bei bedeutend mehr Touristen konnten wir den berühmtesten dieser Wassergälle noch bewundern. Wieder an der Bushaltestelle genehmigten wir uns ein Glacé. Wieder beim Auto machten wie uns fertig um nach Hause zu fahren. Dieser Nationalpark ist wirklich ganz wundervoll und eindrücklich. Es hat uns allen vier sehr gut gefallen. Nach ca. 8 Kilometern und 2,5 Stunden machten wir uns auf den Nachhauseweg. Kaum im Auto fing es an zu tröpfeln (unser Wetterfrosch hatte Regen voraus gesagt), nach kurzer Zeit war es ein Unwetter. Halleluja, innert kurzer Zeit Aquaplaning und überhauot keine Sicht mehr. Wir mussten mehrmals auf einem "Parkplatz" eine Pause einlegen. Endlich hatten wir das schlimme Unwetter überstanden den nächsten Schockmoment.... Die Einheimischen überholen an den unübersichtlichsten Stellen , und genau an einem solchen Ort kam uns ein gelber Kleinwagen frontal entgegen. Wir brauchten einige Sekunden um die Situation zu realisieren. Ausser einem wild schlagendem Herz zum Glück nichts passiert.
      Auch auf dem Rückweg haben wir von den drei Stu den einige Zeit aufgeholt und so waren wir um 17.00 Uhr bereits wieder im Camping Strasko. Alles in allem war es ein wundervoller Tag, Wir haben ihn sehr genossen.      Meer informatie

      Kroatien - Plitvicka Nationalpark

      Wir haben einen der Nationalpärke in Kroatien besucht und waren hin- und weg von dieser bezaubernden Natur! Es war wuuunderschön und irgendwie ein magischer Ort mit all den grün/blauen Seen und Wälder und Wasserfälle!
      Zum Glück waren wir jetzt da, wo es nicht viele Touristen gibt, ansonsten wäre es wahrscheinlich ziemlich überloffen.
      Es war einzigartig schön!🥰
      Danach sind wir wieder zum Parkplatz (der 15 CHF gekostet hat!!), haben uns im Wohnmibil eine Dusche gegönnt und sind dann wieder weiter gefahren 😁      Meer informatie

      Plitvička Jezera (Plitivcer Seen)

      Von wegen das Wetter spielt mit. Mit unserer Ankunft am Nationalpark fing es an zu regnen. Na toll. Nichtsdestotrotz gingen wir rein, hört bestimmt bald auf! Und wir sollten Recht behalten.
      Der Eintritt für beide kostete 80 Kuna, was umgerechnet ca. 11€ sind. Da kann man nichts zu sagen, vorallem wenn man überlegt was uns dann erwartete!
      Alleine der Anblick des ersten Wasserfalls war überragend. Ein traumhafter Anblick. Man hat viel im Voraus gelesen und auch gehört, aber das ganze in Live ist nochmal eine Nummer geiler. Als man dann zu den ersten Seen kam, war man wieder überwältigt. Glasklares türkises Wasser! Zwar regnete es, aber dadurch ließen wir uns das Ganze nicht verderben und wir verweilten einige Zeit an den Seen und dem großen Wasserfall. Nach ca. einer Stunde war der Regen denn vorbei und in der Sonne sieht es alles noch geiler aus. Leider war der Bereich der oberen Seen gesperrt, da die Straßen voller Schnee waren und man nur hätte schwer hinkommen können, zumal der Bus und das Boot auch nicht fuhren. Also muss man wohl noch einmal hier her!
      Zum Ende entdeckten wir dann ein weiteres Highlight. Es führt ein Weg durch Höhlen runter direkt zum Wasser. Die Wege waren teils zugeschneit und matschig, sodass das Ganze auf eigene Gefahr erfolgte. Dies ließen wir uns nicht nehmen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht!
      Letzendlich haben wir ca. 4 Stunden im Park verbracht und waren ziemlich froh so früh, zwar im Regen, da gewesen zu sein. Nun wurde es langsam richtig voll und viele Reisebusse kamen an. Das hatten wir dann deutlich entspannter. Kaum vorstellbar was dort im Sommer los ist!
      Der Besuch lohnt sich aufjedenfall und sollte zu jeder Kroatienreise dazugehören!
      Danach ging es dann Richtung Zagreb, wo wir dann das Wochenende verbringen werden.      Meer informatie

      Plitvicka National Park

      It was. 2.5 hour drive to the park from Primosten but Suzie enjoyed the 130k speed limit. On arrival we entered via the Entrance 2. The car park was so full It was surprising to see so many visitors, it took us quite some time to find a park. I was very worried about congestion on the tracks.

      These worries were soon put to rest, the paths from this entry point are very wide and there are many options so the tourists are moved into multiple directions. We have chosen route H, this starts with a bus ride to the beginning of the 5k trail back down. As soon as we jump off the bus the thunderstorm rolls in, the noise is very loud but only a few drops of rain so we plough on down the track. The thunder continues for about 30minutes, and the temperature has also dropped by about 10c so it’s a little chilly. The paths are relatively flat, with only a few stairs, the canopy dense so we don’t get too wet. There are many small waterfalls along the way, quite beautiful , picturesque, certainly worth a pic or 2. The track is not crowded, we can walk at our own pace and take picture whenever we choose.

      We finish the first trail, the next leg is to jump on a boat across the river to the next walking track. Once off the boat we follow the path to the “big waterfall”, what can this be compared to so many other “waterfalls” I’ve seen ( Niagara, Victoria). In fact it is a series of small waterfalls along the river culminating in a couple long drop waterfalls. Very beautiful mix of colours.

      The walk from the boat stop to the bus stop was very congested, the path was narrow, people not wanting to get their feet feet. So different from entrance 2. There were so many people coming from the opposite direction, I would hate to be here is high season. I am sure people would be pushed in to the water on the narrow wooden walkways. We struggle past the many walkers, everyone wanting to stop for photos regardless of where they are. We eventually move away from the crowds heading up to the bus. The views from above are spectacular . This place is certainly worth a visit, I expect after rain would be amazing. Start from entrance 2 and enjoy the space at least for a short time.

      The drive home is also with the normal dramas, car travelling in excess 150k, passing when they should know better. It is certainly time for a beer or calming wine once we make it home.      Meer informatie
