We drove to Niagra Falls and Niagra on the lake for the afternoon. The photo pretty much sums it up, but we had not seen the falls before and it was beautiful. The event area, with games, food, and rides reminded us of Las Vegas, simply crazy! And it was hot, but that is the theme for this blog so far, hot, sweaty, and loads of laundry!Læs mere

We stayed for a few nights, and visited the family gravesite, along with taking the trail to the famous sugar shack. Although the mosquitoes, black flies, and other large insects tried to feast on us, we made it back after fueling up with a can of DEET. (It does not smell good)
We visited the airport, which reminded us of an old western, with tumbleweeds blowing through as there was not a single soul in the airport. Maybe one security guard. Quiet town, just as we remembered.
We shouldn’t forget that it was Canada Day, and we spent the evening watching North Bay fireworks (I’ll just say they were quaint, that is all) What was not quaint was the emerging shadflies that we couldn’t wait to see. It was only when they began erupting out of the water like a 70’s horror movie did we have to leave. They still clung to our shirts as we left.Læs mere

One of our favorite days was visiting Quebec City as we drove there and walked around, taking photos and doing a few tours. We are ashamed to say, we learned quite a bit about Canadian history! :D

We took the train from Toronto to Montreal and arrived nearly at midnight. Family picked us up and we stayed up late catching up and tasting a few glasses or bottles (hard to remember which one, it’s hazy) of champagne before sleeping.
Having spent around five days in Montreal, we enjoyed biking and white water rapids (although the heat was nearly unbearable!) eating out, spending time at markets (Atwater Market was beautiful), checking out McGill University and catching up with some friends.Læs mere
