      Auf nach Griechenland

      April 27 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

      Day Thirty: Venice

      April 14 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Today was the classic Venice experience starting with some Gondola. We almost didn't do that because we both thought it was a cable car... I'm glad we did because now I can say I have! We also had to take specific photos around venice for a little competition, which was a total blast! I do love the romance one, ahaha. We had some spirtz as well, and we played a game called Buffalo where if you don't drink with your non dominant hand, you have to finish your drink. Our buddy called me on it twice in a row... I had a good time here as it was very beautiful but we were stuck there for 8 hours... I ran out of stuff to do very quickly, and I was bored out of my mind while feeling like ass. Turns out it was also allergies because I took a pill right before we left, and I felt way better. Wish I took it sooner...Read more

Venedig - immer wieder schön 🤩

      April 26 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

      Ciccetti and Canals

      April 7 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Walked and walked Venice in the mist and in the baking sun 🌞
Wonderful sights around every corner... lots of dead ends, but that's what makes it fun.
Lovely venetian snacks (ciccetti) and so relaxing (out of the main drag)Read more

      Touristy but awesome

      April 29 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

A private gondola tour was a highlight of our trip to Venice…. but the entertainment factor at Piazza San Marco was pretty high with the seagulls attacking peoples bowls of chips and knocking over Aperol spritzes.Read more

      Venedig - oder auch:

      April 27 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

      Das Labyrinth von Italien. 🤌🏼

Wie bitte, was? Nur um Venedig sehen zu können? Naja, wenn ich schon mal da bin. Klar, 5 € für den Herrn.

Alles klar, ich war endlich bereit...
Was erwartet mich natürlich 5 Min später. Richtig. Mein Regen.

      "Go with the flow" quasi.
Jap. Wow. Alex.
Also dann muss halt doch Google Maps raus.

      23.145 Schritte.

      Venice

      April 14 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Another early morning this morning because we had to catch a ferry from the main land to the island for our gondola ride through the canals of Venice. We were told this hostel would have the best breakfast on the trip. Yeah, that's not true. It doesn't come anywhere near the Sorrento breakfast lol. The eggs were really watery, and the bacon was slimy and the opposite of crispy. It definitely needed a couple more minutes. They did have yogurt and granola, though, so that's good enough for me. We all got on a train to get to the ferry, both of which were chaotic experiences. Especially finding the right ferry for all 30 of us. Once we finally got there, the first thing I noticed was how many people were on the island. It was packed. We had to speed walk through the crowds of people who walk like their on a Sunday stroll. I actually hate slow walkers. Because it was already 24 degrees at 10 am, Pearse and I had to put sunscreen on, and we were still walking faster. We were broken up into 6 groups with 5 people per boat. The boats are pretty small, so everyone got to know each other pretty well. Maybe some of us got a little too comfortable lol. Despite the boats being small when we passed another boat, we were uncomfortably close to the wall, and the other boat it was so narrow. I really liked the metal jutting out from the front of the boat. It could have been on some warships lol, they were intimidating. They looked like an axe head almost. After the gondolas, we had all day to tour around and see what's up. There was a dinner that Pearse and I didn't sign up for. Bec gave us a challenge where we had to make a collage of different photos. So we got lunch and started getting our photos ready while walking all around Venice. We managed to kill about 3 hours when we met up with a bigger group for some cocktails in the sun. The 8 of us hung out until some of them left for their dinner. The rest of us went to go find a different bar. In hindesite, that was a mistake because we couldn't find anything cheaper or big enough to fit all of us. While looking, Pearse saw an £22 screwdriver. That's actually fucked up lol. After aimlessly walking for what felt like hours, we got back to the original bar. When we got there, everyone was too tired from drinking in the sun to even speak. We just sat there staring off into the distance or on our phones. I really liked Venice, but I don't think we needed 12 hours there. It also doesn't help all we had for lunch was a charcuterie board split between 3 of us. Venice was just too expensive. We took the ferry back to the mainland to catch a train where we finally got to mcdonalds. We rocked up to the hostel with our food and just sat outside with a group just chatting and chilling out. Overall, it was a really fun day, but the sun really drains you.Read more

      MSC Sea Dayz N Nightz 🚢 🌊☀️🍸

      September 18, 2023 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Thankfully, there is only one full day at sea… I only have the benchmark
of P and O cruise line to compare this cruise 🚢 to and I must say that MSC run a hot second place. Absolutely love unpacking once and just chilling. That is always gonna be attractive! 🎯

Firstly, I am really enjoying a soul occupancy inside cabin… It is very roomy and tastefully decorated with nice artwork and with the addition of mirrors to add a feeling of more space. The best part is that you can have complete black out darkness morning, noon and night if you want rest. Highly recommended cabin choice. Don’t see the point of a balcony cabin when you go to the bars to drink and socialise anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unless you book an excursion through MSC you are not given any instructions or information as to how you should make your way from the docking port to the city or town that you are visiting. Charging $30 for a transfer on a ship shuttle bus does not seem fair to me but the choice is limited. I figure if the ship docks half hour drive from the town then the shuttle in could be complementary rather than another add-on. It’s all a matter of opinion I suppose. When in Rome…

The Restaurant service is impeccable and the food 🥘 is delicious. Wayu & Yousef we’re beautiful 😍 hosts; both from Indonesia 🇮🇩 Nothing was too much trouble! The Restaurant is much more relaxing and enjoyable than participating in any of the on deck buffet selections… They are just a feeding frenzy at all times 🐷 but many love them so that’s fantastic and helps distribute passengers 😎
You could have three courses for lunch and three courses for dinner if you want. The breakfast menu is also extensive 🥐🧀🍳🥗🍤🍷🍽️

Is quite difficult to get a drink at any of the bars because they are understaffed; there is always one staff member stacking plates or stocking the fridge, even if there is a queue of people two deep at the bar. We caught the easy drink package prior to boarding, so it ended up great value. Trust me, we get our money’s worth! 🍹🍸🥃🍾🍷🥂🍻🍺☕️🫖🥤
…it took a few days to learn but the best way to get a drink is to get the attention of the ONE waitress and order with her…

The most pleasant staff member we have interacted with works in the jewellery boutique store - Pauline from Argentina 🇦🇷…thankfully my senses kicked in when she skilfully attempted to sell me an anchor ⚓️ bracelet for €370!

A very fun night was had by all at the disco 💃🏼 on the top deck. It is interesting to watch the dance staff performing like dance prostitutes all night long: working the crowd into a frenzy… All shapes and sizes, welcomed and encouraged by their tempting moves and seductive eye 👁️ contact 🙃

It’s kinda weird not having any access to your phone 📱 internet & social media while you’re on the ship unless you pay 💰 high access fees up front. It’s also more relaxing when you are not distracted by content and notifications 📣 so you engage with what’s going on around you better 👍🏻

Thinking about TripADeal again and I reflect on the wonderful group of people that have become friends on the cruise and it mellows my heart 💜 and makes me realise that there were more good things than bad that came out of the whole experience: I mean, just look at the happiness expressed in the faces at our dining table… that speaks volumes 🫶🏻👏✊🏻🥰
