      Stefans 33. Geburtstag verbrachten wir heute etwas entspannter. ☺️
      Auf dem Plan standen der Fushimi Inari-Schrein mit den berühmten roten Toriis und die Burg Nijo. Den Weg zum Schrein schmücken mittlerweile mehr als tausend Tore. Es war ein sehr schöner Anblick. Die Schrift auf einem Tori entspricht dem Käufer.
      Am Abend gingen wir noch super lecker Essen. Es gab Kobe- und Wagyu-Rind. Köstlich. 🤗
      Morgen verlassen wir Kyōto und fahren weiter nach Hakone.      Read more

      Was für ein Schrein! Kyotos 1000 Tore

      Stunden um Stunden kann man hier verbringen. Und durch scheinbar endlos viele orange Tore wandern. Immer aufwärts, den Hang des Berges Inari hinauf. Buchstäblich 1001 Torii-Gates hat der bekannteste Shinto-Schrein Tokyos. Der Fushimi Inari Taisha Schrein. Er ist der Gottheit Kami gewidmet. Verehrt für Reis, Wohlstand, Handel und Erfolg.

      Torii-Tore sind traditionelle japanische Tore, die oft als Eingang zu Schreinen oder Tempeln dienen. Die Tore am Fushimi Inari Taisha Schrein sind leuchtend orange und wurden von Spendern gestiftet, die ihre Dankbarkeit für den Schrein und ihre Hoffnung auf Wohlstand und Erfolg ausdrücken wollten.

      Unten, am Eingang des Schrein drängeln sich Hunderte, manchmal Tausende Menschen. Deswegen ist es sinnvoll, in den Randzeiten zu kommen, um ein bisschen der Magie des Ortes zu spüren. Je weiter oben am Berg, desto weniger Besucher. Die meisten gehen nur eine kleine Runde Und schieben sich quasi durch die Tore.

      Der Fushimi Inari Taisha Schrein ist ein wichtiger Ort für viele Japaner, die hierherkommen, um für Glück, Erfolg und Wohlstand zu beten. Für uns in erster Linie ein faszinierender Platz, der die Besonderheit von Kyoto wieder einmal unterstreicht.      Read more

      Passeggiando tra i torii ⛩

      Iniziamo la visita di Kyoto con una delle sue attrazioni più conosciute e frequentate, il santuario di Fushimi Inari-taisha, noto per i suoi oltre 1000 torii rossi sotto cui camminare per raggiungere la vetta del monte inari. Nonostante sia presto il luogo è già molto affollato - un’ora dopo sarà invivibile - ma ciò che ci circonda è stupendo.
      Dopo la visita al tempio rosso alla base del monte, ci infiliamo nella lunga galleria di torii percorrendo parte del percorso. Intorno a noi solamente i colori del bosco, il rosso dei torii e statue grigie raffiguranti le volpi🦊 : animale simbolo di questo tempio.
      Terminata la visita al santuario ci spostiamo verso il centro città entrando in alcuni dei tanti templi incontrati per la strada, tra cui il Tofuku-ji, bello ed imponente edificio in legno, e il Chishaku-in temple dove assistiamo puramente per caso alla foto di “pezzi grossi” impegnati nella foto di rito. Capitiamo poco dopo una cosa importante.. oggi non è un giorno a caso, oggi è il giorno del drago Seiryu!      Read more

      Fushimi Inari Taisha Senbon Torii

      Heutiges Ziel waren die berühmten 1000 Torii, auf dem heiligen Berg Inari.

      Zwar regnete es, mit Regenjacke und Schirm ausgestattet, hatten wir die beliebte Strecke jedoch größtenteils für uns.

      Die Torii entlang des gesamten Weges sind Spenden von Einzelpersonen und Unternehmen an den Gott des Berges. Er soll wirtschaftlichen Erfolg bringen. Auf dem gesamten Gelände befinden sich Fuchsstatuen, da 🦊 die Boten des Gottes Inari sein sollen.

      Die Namen des Spenders und das Datum der Spende, sind auf der Rückseite jedes Tors zu finden. Die Spendensumme beginnt bei rund 400.000 Yen für ein kleineres Tor und steigt auf über eine Million Yen für ein großes Tor.      Read more

      EARLY IN THE MORNING… because this place is one of the crowded place in Kyoto… so, we woke up at 5 am took the metro, and at 6 am we are here… there are people but way not crowded, so we could get nice pictures without anyone inside except us…

      Una volta rinfocillati per bene, ripartiamo alla volta del Castello di Nijo. Il Castello è stato la residenza degli shōgun fino a quando l'ultimo shōgun si è dimesso dalla propria carica a favore dell'imperatore Meiji: il castello diventa a quel punto residenza imperiale. Un particolare che ci sorprende sono i pavimenti: i chiodi sotto la superficie, quando vengono calpestati, fanno un suono che ricorda il verso dell'usignolo. Percorriamo tutti gli interni e il parco che circonda il Castello, sfidando caldo e umidità.
      Ultima tappa di questa giornata è il santuario di Inari a Fushimi-ku, dove torii arancioni compongono una galleria di più di 2 km lungo il pendio della collina. Il santuario è dedicato a Inari, il Dio shintoista del riso; le volpi sono i suoi messaggeri. Inari è sempre stato considerato il patrono degli affari, per questo commercianti e artigiani tradizionalmente lo venerano e hanno donato i torii che lo compongono.
      Come altri luoghi sacri, anche questo, seppur affascinante e dal colpo d'occhio davvero suggestivo, perde un po' della sua autenticità, a favore del turista alla ricerca di un'esperienza sicuramente unica ma di certo non interiore e sacrale quanto meriterebbe.      Read more

      Mein Wecker hat ganz früh geklingelt und um 6 Uhr war ich beim Tempel. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war ich nahezu komplett alleine in dem Gelände und konnte die Ruhe genießen. Die anderen kamen gegen 6:30 Uhr dazu.

      Der Shinto-Schrein gehört zu den bekanntesten und schönsten historischen Städten Japans. Mit seinen 10.000 Torii-Toren und zahllosen Spazierpfaden ist der Tempel definitiv ein Besuch wert.      Read more

      Heute früh klingelte um 05:00 der Wecker. Und obwohl ich im nicht die sportliche von uns beiden bin ging es auch für mich auf eine Bergwanderung. Einige von euch kennen vielleicht die Bilder der 10000 orangenen Torii, die den Weg zur Spitze des Fushimi Inari säumen. Sicherlich eine der einzigartigsten Wanderungen, die ich je unternommen habe. Wie durch einen Tunnel führen die Torii durch Wälder, Lichtungen und entlang Abgründen von denen man ganz Kyoto (und vielleicht sogar Osaka in der Ferne) erblicken kann.

      Verständlicherweise ist der Wanderweg oft mit Touristen überfüllt, und gerade jetzt im Sommer tagsüber auch viel zu heiß, sodass ich mich für eine Wanderung zum Sonnenaufgang entschied. Diese Entscheidung hat sich echt gelohnt. Ich würde zwar nicht so weit gehen und sagen, dass es kühl war, aber es war bedeutend angenehmer bei 27 Grad als bei 37 Grad. So früh waren auch kaum andere Wanderer unterwegs, sodass ich diese nahezu magische Erfahrung in alle Ruhe genießen konnte. Anders als märchenhaft kann ich die Erfahrung nicht beschreiben. Auf dem Berg wird man schließlich mit wunderschönen Aussichten und dem Hauptschrein Fushimi Inari Taisha belohnt. Einem der meist besuchten Schreine Japans.

      This morning, the alarm clock rang at 5:00. And even though I'm not the sporty one among us, I also went on a mountain hike. Some of you may be familiar with the images of the 10,000 orange Torii gates that line the path to the top of Fushimi Inari. Certainly one of the most unique hikes I've ever undertaken. Like a tunnel, the Torii gates lead through forests, clearings, and along cliffs from which you can see all of Kyoto (and maybe even Osaka in the distance).

      Understandably, the hiking trail is often crowded with tourists, and especially now in the summer, it's way too hot during the day, so I opted for a sunrise hike. This decision really paid off. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was cool, but it was significantly more pleasant at 27 degrees than at 37 degrees. There were hardly any other hikers out so early, so I could enjoy this nearly magical experience in peace and quiet. I can't describe the experience as anything less than enchanting.

      On top of the mountain, you are eventually rewarded with beautiful views and the main shrine, Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Japan's most visited shrines.      Read more

      Heute waren wir in Kyoto unterwegs.
      Folgendes haben wir uns angeschaut😇:

      Fushimi Inari:
      Der Schrein (Tempel) ist vor allem für die mehr als 1.000 roten Tore bekannt, die hinter dem Hauptschrein in langen Tunneln aufgestellt sind.

      Die ehemalige Kaiservilla: Burg Nijō

      Nishiki-Markt, eine endlose Fressgasse (Im 2. Video seht ihr, was es da leckeres zu Essen gab... 🐠🐟🦐🦞🦞🦀🐙)

      Die Altstadt

      Kyoto-Tower

      Auf dem Heimweg sind wir noch an einem Hotel vorbeigekommen, wo an der Rezeption Roboter eingesetzt werden... 👉🏼Check-in, mal anders... Seht selbst. 🫠

      Die Stadt gefällt uns sehr gut.😊

      Kyoto and Fushimi Inari - Day 4

      Today we woke up early to catch the train headed towards Kyoto. We didn’t have much time to get breakfast/coffee so we just grabbed a quick snack at the convenience stores.
      The trip was quick, only about a 15 mins train ride. We were initially going to use a coin locker to leave our luggages in so we didn’t have to carry it around before our check-in but we ended up keeping them and grabbing a quick lunch! 🍜
      I had my first ramen in Japan and it did not disappoint! The noodles were so chewy and the broth was amazing! Bonus, it was so cheap!! Less than $10 for a bowl! I know Toronto you can’t get a basic ramen bowl for less than $15 now. 🥲
      We took the subway to our Airbnb and it wasn’t as great as expected… we opted for a more traditional looking place but it was a lot older than we had thought. All 6 of us were sharing the same Airbnb. Lots of bugs and only 2 people were able to sleep on beds, the rest of us slept on futons. It actually wasn’t bad but we were afraid of the bugs, haha… 😅
      Since we got to Kyoto earlier, we decided to visit the Fushimi Inari. It was so nice but very busy as it was later in the afternoon. Before we saw the red gates, we all decided to grab some local snacks. Farheen and I got these popsicles, she got a matcha flavoured one, mine was some sort of milk tea with red bean and mochi. Not that sweet and pretty strong flavours! 😋 The red gates are a very popular spot for tourists. We were going to climb near the top of the mountain because that area has less people and is better for pictures, but we split up. Maya, yebin and I went only part way up, mostly because it was getting dark and there seemed to be a lot of mosquitoes. Farheen, Jen and Nipa went a lot higher up and got lots of pics, but they came back to the bottom pretty late 😂
      While the three of us were waiting for Farheen, Nipa and Jen, we decided to pick our fortunes. Unfortunately I got the worst fortune… 🥲 it was a bit hard to read since it was all in Japanese and we had to rely on Google translate, which wasn’t very accurate. Maya got the best fortune and yebin just got a neutral fortune. They have this tradition where if you get a bad fortune, you can tie it up on this fence at the site and leave your bad fortune, which is what I did haha 😅 hopefully nothing bad follows me out of there.
      After this, Farheen, Nipa and Jen were pretty tired so they ended up going back to the Airbnb but us three decided to explore the downtown core of Kyoto more. We were staying in a more remote area but the city is similar to Osaka, just a little less people. We settled on a conveyor belt sushi restaurant! It was pretty cool, but a little pricey. I ended up spending ~$25 for dinner just on me, oops 😅 then we were dead tired and just took the train home to sleep!      Read more
