    Lussier Hotsprings and Lake Louise

    October 19, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 4 °C

Today we decided to start driving back to cut the overall drive in half.
On our way we detoured south to the Lussier Hotsprings, which are natural hot springs beside a river. The drive there was a little bit scary as it was a gravel road along the edge of a mountain, sometimes there were barriers and sometimes not, it was a highly trafficked road though. Oh and we saw a bear!
The hotsprings themselves were so awesome! Each "pool" was a different temperature, a few were too cold to sit in this time of year, but the hottest was super hot.
Next we decided to stop at Lake Louise to take in the site of the beautiful turquoise lake. It was sooo sunny 🌞
Finished the drive to Calgary where we ate at St James Irish Pub, and tried out luck at the Casino.

    Relaxation Day

    October 18, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Not much to report from today. We were pretty tired and sore today from our hikes yesterday so we decided to have a relaxation day today.
We did some shopping, and went for a walk downtown in Golden. Followed by some drinks on the deck to enjoy the beautiful day ☀️Read more

    Revelstoke

    October 17, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

We started the morning with a homemade (decaf) latte in the hottub, I can think of no better way to start the day.
Next, we ventured out to Revelstoke. We tried to do the meadows in the sky drive up Mt. Revelstoke but the top was too snowy and the road was closed, so we only got to drive halfway. We decided to hike a little higher up as some fellow hikers said "it's just a short hike up and then it gets quite snowy". We thought that'd be cool so we decided to try it, well they were liars. We climbed the side of a mountain for almost an hour and I dont think we were even close to the snow.
After that we went to Moses Falls, which was a short hike, but quite challenging getting to the top of the falls. Very beautiful though!
For supper we went to the Whitetooth Bistro in Golden. We ordered mushroom sliders, and I am not lying when I say Cam was obsessed with them. Soo soo yummy. We also ordered oyster shooters, which we thought would be Oysters served in their shells, when in fact it was Oysters in a tequila shot!! Good thing we walked there!
Overall an excellent second day 👌

    Golden Hike

    October 16, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Today we toured around the town a bit and went out for lunch at a delicious restaurant called The Turning Point (no photos), one of the locals said it's the best restaurant in town.

Next we found a hike near Golden called the Thomspen Falls Hike, it was longer and harder then expected so we didn't make it all the way to the falls. It was still very beautiful hiking along the river, forgot how clear glacier water is!

    Great first day 🏔

    Driving Day

    October 15, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

Left at 7am to start the drive. We started our drive stopped at a train as soon as we left the alley, and hoped it wasn't a sign of the drove to come. But, with only a couple stops we made it to Golden in great time, but it was still over 11 hours of driving (not recommended).
The Air BnB is very nice and cozy with a nice view of the mountains ⛰

    Day 5

    February 15, 2019 in Canada ⋅ 🌧 3 °C

Our last full day in vegas. The weather was sunny but very windy today! We spent the day walking up and down the strip. Got lost in Caesars palace, it was so hard to find our way out! Then we went for a late lunch at P.F. Changs, and had some yummy sushi and egg rolls.
We planned on going to the neon museum, but unfortunately it closed for general tours at 4 so we missed it. So we went to Freemont Street. The lights there are crazy! After a couple hours we headed to the MGM to see the Jabowakees perform, it was very entertaining! Afterwards we just gambled at the casinos on the way back (and no we were not coming back with any extra money). That pretty much sums up a great Vegas trip!

    Day 4

    February 14, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 9 °C

Today was a rainy day in Vegas, which we honestly didnt mind, we used that excuse to sleep in a little longer as it has been non stop since we got here. When we woke up we went to Hell's Kitchen for lunch. The food was great! But Cameron says the steak didnt beat the steak from a few days ago.
We went to the Maddame Toussade's wax museum later, and unfortunately I didnt take too many picture. It's crazy how life like some of those things are!
Then was the game. The T Mobile arena is a very nice arena! There was like 50/50 divide of the fans there. And Cameron says its the loudest one that hes ever been too! They do lots of entertainment all throughout the game, it was definetely a great time (and it helps that the Leafs won 6-3).
Afterwards we went to the highroller. Its takes 30 minutes to get all the way around and goes 550 feet high above the strip. It was a sight to see!

    Day 3

    February 13, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

We are sore after day 3! It took over 26000 steps but we walked all the way down to Mandalay bay, to see the shark reef, and stopped to look at lots of the casinos on the way. After that we made it down to the vegas sign to take a picture, very cool but not as big as we thought! While we were walking past the Cosmopolitan Cameron had this feeling we just had to go in and check it out. And hes sure glad we did because all of his favourite maple leafs players were playing black jack in the casino. We didnt want to bug them in the middle of a game but he managed to get a picture with John Tavarez because he showed up later and was just watching.
The show we saw was Absinthe, very hilariously, inappropriate in every way! Then we went for a late supper at Guy's burger restaurant, again amazing food!
That pretty well wraps up a pretty great day!

    Day 2

    February 12, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

Today was another good day. It looks like a food blog because we are no good at remembering to taking pictures. We slept in a little bit so first thing we went and grabbed some lunch, at a little pizza place near the mall. You get to create your pizza, and honestly it was probably the best thin crust pizza we've ever had (we keep saying that about everything we eat).
Next, we decided to do a little bit of shopping at the outlet malls, found some pretty good deals, but we didn't leave with as much as I thought we might!
We did a little but of exploring for the afternoon and evening, it's crazy how it these hotels are!
For supper Cameron looked up where the best steak in Vegas was, so we went to the The Capital Grill. I had the lobster, and he splurged and tried the 20oz wagyu steak, and for dessert we had coconut cream pie, everything was amazing!
Our show today was Cirque during Soliel Mystier, that was crazy cool what those people can do!

    Day 1

    February 11, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 8 °C

Well the first day of vegas was filled with good and bad luck. Almost missed our flight from Vancouver to Vegas, but we made it! Almost lost my luggage at the airport, but it was sent on the next flight so we found it! Almost lost my phone at the casino, but thankfully someone returned it and we found that too!
Despite all the hiccups it was an amazing day. Cameron finally got to try White Castle. For supper we had tacos, Mexican street corn, and probably the best chicken wings and fries we've ever had. Then we saw a hilarious magic show by Piff the Magic Dragon.
To top it all off, the highlight of the night was... Cameron popped the question, and... WE'RE ENGAGED! 🥂
