      Je m’envole pour la Tasmanie !

      L’Australie étant une destination en vogue, je savais avant même d’y être que je devais plutôt commencer par un endroit à taille humaine (la Tasmanie reste équivalente à 2x la Bretagne…), moins touristique, et fuir les français de Sydney.
      C’est drôle de voir qu’ils restent présents partout, que je n’apprécie pas de les croiser et que les français avec qui j’ai échangé (et vécu) les détestent aussi, comme si nous n’étions pas des leurs 🤔. Bon, il ne faut pas non plus généraliser, mais il y en a quand même un paquet qui foutent la honte. J’ai aussi appris l’existence du « French shopping », je vous laisse deviner en quoi ça consiste…
      Enfin bref, direction le « Natural State » ! Hâte de découvrir Elisia, Tim et Tate, ma famille d’accueille, et Hannah une allemande de 25 ans déjà connue des lieux.
      J’écris ça presque un mois plus tard, et je pense maintenant qu’il n’y a pas meilleure idée de commencer son voyage à l’autre bout du monde que d’intégrer une famille de locaux. Elisia et Tim accueillent des Helpx du monde entier depuis 10 ans et ce tout au long de l’année. Helpx c’est du « win-win » : Mes hôtes m’offrent le logement, la nourriture, tous les services que leur maison propose (machine à laver, sèche linge, Netflix, un chien…) ainsi que des road trips chaque semaine en échange de mon travail. Ici, je dois effectuer 4 heures de travail par jour (que j’organise plus ou moins comme je veux selon la météo et ce qu’on prévoit). Je peux être emmenée à faire de la construction, du jardinage, du rangement ou du ménage.
      La photo du couché de soleil, c’est la vue depuis la maison, et mon premier couché de soleil. Elisia, Tim et leurs enfants (Tate et Migali) vivent à Hobart, ou plus précisément juste en face de la ville, la Derwent River les séparent de 6 kilomètres. Donc vue sur la rivière, la ville d’Hobart, et le Mont Wellington (ou kunanyi selon les aborigènes) s’élevant à environ 1 200m d’altitude.
      Hobart est la plus grande ville de Tasmanie avec 50 439 habitants (en 2020), le Grand Hobart en compte plus de 222 000.      Baca selengkapnya

      Mount Wellington

      Morgens um sieben wurde das Zelt zusammengeklappt und weiter geht es. Eigentlich wollten wir an einer Picknick Area Frühstücken aber dann haben wir gedacht, wir machen das einfach gleich auf dem Mount Wellington.
      Oben angekommen war es dann so windig, dass an gemütlich Frühstücken nicht zu denken war.
      Umsehen wollten wir uns natürlich trotzdem. Erst war der Ausblick durch die Wolken verdeckt. Nur ab und an konnte man ein wenig hindurchsehen.
      Philipp wollte dann "ganz kurz" zu dem Ausblick dort vorne gehen. Durch die Landschaft sah das auch wirklich nicht weit aus. Am Ende waren wir dann aber doch über eine Stunde unterwegs 😅
      Die Landschaft sieht aber auch wirklich toll aus. Besonders die Wolken, die hier am Berg entlang zogen, haben uns gefallen. Zum Schluss hatten wir sogar noch einen tollen Blick auf Hobart.
      Dann endlich gab es Sandwiches vom BBQ Grill 🙌🏻      Baca selengkapnya

      Bruny Island - Windy Lights

      After filling our tummies, we drove further south to Cape Bruny Lighthouse which isn't in use anymore but for history reasons. We went all the way up to the top and had an amazing view. We actually learned that lots of lighthouse keepers got very sick because of the metal they used back in the day. It's called the Mad-Hatters-Disease and made these people literally go crazy. Horrible!
      Anyway, we had lunch at the Bruny Hotel where I used my included drunk to get one of the famous Apple Cherry Ciders. It had 8%, and hell, I felt that! I'm not used to alcohol at all and it made me really tipsy. Shandy (basically Radler) is what I usually drink when I want something alcoholic, but that doesn't go over 5%. So it was really tough on me.
      I couldn't really relax and wait for the alcohol to wear off, as we went to a chocolate tasting directly after that. Luckily, it was only three different flavors and everyone was done after 5min, so we went back to the coach.
      We drove back to the hotel and for the first time in this trip, we got a bit time to spend for ourselves in which we didn't only have time to hop under the shower and get ready for dinner.
      So Lana and I decided to explore Hobarts city centre a bit. I actually found a quite nice magnet for my Mom to bring home and so I was happy. However, the city centre was nearly deserted. At 5pm... No wonder people don't go out and about anymore - if nothing is open, why the hassle?
      So we were basically just wandering around, trying to find our way back to the hotel. We finally managed to and had some time to rest our feet.
      Then we went straight to the Crowne Plaza hotel to have a site inspection (very fancy place, not really for our usual STA Travel client) and dinner. The bread and entree were very good but they really butchered it with the main. For me as a vegetarian it was really just Spaghetti with tomato sauce. And don't get me wrong: I like that, it's completely fine as a dish. But I hate when someone tries to make it seem fancy, but it really isn't. And the meatlovers dish wasn't better: It was a naked chicken leg with brown mushrooms and three frozen peas on it. It looked really poor. Nothing like we had the last couple of nights. Dessert was good again though. So, tough crowd, I reckon.
      Tomorrow I could finally have a bit of a sleep in, as Lana and I would be in Group 2, officially starting our day at 9.10am. That means, I can sleep until 8am. Lucky me!      Baca selengkapnya

      T11 - Tasmanien

      ▪️Wollten heute wieder zurück zum Freycinet National Park fahren
      ▪️Um dann mit unserem gebuchten Wassertaxi zum Wineglass Bay zu schippern
      ▪️Aber es wurde abgesagt, da es vom letzten Sturm kaputt gegangen ist und das Ersatzwassertaxi noch nicht verfügbar ist - voll schade :(
      ▪️Julia hat eine Wunde am Oberschenkel seit ihrer Great Ocean Tour im September 😲
      ▪️Die Wunde hat sich stark entzündet und eitert
      ▪️Sind mit ihr zum Arzt in Hobart, der ihr Antibiotika verschrieb
      ▪️Dann ging's mit der Fähre zur 20min entfernte Bruny Island
      ▪️Sind mit unserem 4x4 zum ersten Mal auf dem Strand gefahren - es war so aufregend :D
      ▪️Das war der einzige Weg zu unserm Campingplatz
      ▪️Mussten wieder ein Formular ausfüllen und diesen mit 20AU$ in einem Kasten werfen
      ▪️In der Dämmerung waren ganz viele Kängurus auf dem Campingplatz unterwegs

      💡Bruny Island hat nur eine Tankstelle und eine Hauptstraße. Die Hauptstraße ist nicht durchgängig geteert, sondern besteht streckenweise aus gepressten Sand.      Baca selengkapnya

      Bruny island part 1

      Als nächstes gings zur bruny island für ein paar tage. Mit auto :)
      Als erstes ging es nach cloudy bay (1) dann weiter nach cape bruny mit dem leuchtturm (2&3) und zum campen nach cape bruny campground. Da hats größtenteils geregnet und am nächsten tag sind wor schwimmen gegangen... das war ganzschön kalt... wars aber definitiv wert. Auf foto 9 sind wir zum two tree beach gefahren. Angeblich sinf die 2 bäume über 250 jahre alt und waren schon da als captain cook angekommen ist... abgesehen von den bäumen stimmt aber nichts auf dem gemälde mit der umgebung überein deshalb finden dean und ich dass das vielleicht nicht der ort vom gemälde ist.Baca selengkapnya

      Heute ging es von Hobart auf die ca. 2h entfernte Bruny Island (inklusive Fähre 🤗).
      Ein paar entspannten Walks (Fluted Cape, The Neck, Cape Bruny und Adventure Bay) später durften wir auch einige lokale Spezialitäten wie Käse, Honig oder Austern (naja das muss man echt mögen...).Baca selengkapnya

      Fluted Cape Walk

      After a good breakfast it actually started to rain a little bit. So I was really unsure what I am going to do today. Was waiting for a while as I still had time before I needed to leave the campground. Luckily it was just a short shower so I in the end went to the carpark and started the Fluted Cape Walk.
      Decided to first to the easy walk to the Grass Point and then see how the weather is and if I am feeling for keep on going.
      As it was so easy and the weather still dry, i went on for the whole Fluted Cape Walk.
      If I would have know what was in front of me, I think I would have turned around.
      It started first to go up hill nice and easy but after e while it got steeper and steeper. Holy moly that was not a nice walk anymore. Had to be super careful to not miss the track or step wrong. The track is closed to the cliff and not really a track, more a path over rocks and roots. Totally crazy.
      Had to stop quite a few times on the way up, but finally made it to the top! The view was awesome, even withe the clouds. They test of the way was much nicer and not going downhill as steep as uphill. So it was a nice walk back to the car. A few minutes after I arrived at the car, think it was only 2 minutes later, it was starting to rain again. What a good timing I had. The whole walk took me 2 hours.
      I the. Went to Alonnah for another, short and easy walk. Hoping the weather is with me. Otherwise I will just leave Bruny Island for this time.      Baca selengkapnya

      Coal Point & Two Tree Resolution Creek

      On the way to the campground I stopped also at the Coal Point, where they got coal out of the cliffs many years ago and at the Two Tree Resolution Creek.
      Beautiful beaches with white sand and if you walk to the end of the bay, climb over some rocks you come to another beautiful beach after after another. So amazing!
      I arrived at the campground in the adventure bay shortly past 5pm, checked-in and got my tent ready for the night. Had a quick shower and then some dinner. Hope the wind is calming down a little bit over night. I have some shelter but it's so loud. The trees and the waves crashing on the beach.
      The night was ok, colder than expected but at least the wind was easing a little bit and it didn't rain over night.

      Alonnah Sheepwash Bay Track

      As I was a little bit confused about where the Alonnah Sheepwash Bay Track is starting. I stopped the car outside a public toilet and tried to figure it out. As I looked out of the left window I sa an Echidna walking out from a bush and over the grass. So I grabbed my phone and got out of the car as some motorcycles where passing on the many road. As I come around my car, the Echidna s gone. And I was just like: Oh no nat again.
      But then I saw it coming out of the bush again. Walking some steps towards me and then deciding to walk over the gravel road to the high green grass on the other side. How amazing to see this. So fantastic. What a cute little fella.
      I then just followed the gravel road for a few hundred meters to the carpark and the start of the track.
      It was a lovely easy walk. Just what I was looking after.
      At a picnic area I had a short lunch break and then went back to the car as the clouds are getting darker again.
      So I went to the harbour and had just to wait a couple of minutes for the ferry to arrive. And then I was already back on the mainland again.
      From here I went to Dodges Ferry where I will spent my last night in Tassie. So sad to leave this beautiful part of Australia but looking forward for some warmer weather. 😅
      The small campkitchen was really busy in the evening but i managed to squeeze in and cook dinner. Many people from France and Italy are here so it's a loud mix of all different languages. A little bit to much for me as tired as I am.

      Went to bed early as I have to get up in time tomorrow.
      Didn't work out so well, as some people closed to my tent had a long night. And they haven been pretty loud too. Smashing the doors from the cars all the time talking and laughing loud, listening to music. And I am not over sensitive no, I used earplugs and could still here and even understand them!
      Around 3 o'clock they finally went to sleep too.
      I got up like 6:30 am and I can say, I was also smashing the doors from my car. Normally I don't to it, but this time I was feeling for it!      Baca selengkapnya

      Bruny Island

      Eine kurze etwas windige Fährüberfahrt von 20min nach Bruny Island und eine weitere 40min Fahrt über die Insel später standen wir am Neck Lookout mit einem wunderbaren 360 grad Blick. Tourguide für heute ist Keygan, der uns, bis auf morgen die restliche Tour begleiten wird. Er ist Onkel geworden und will morgen kurz seine Schwester und das Baby im Krankenhaus besuchen, erklärt er uns, während er uns zum Leuchtturm von Cape Bruny fährt. Im Anschluss, nochmal 40min später, folgte ein kleiner Stop, um fix etwas zum Mittag zu organisieren und dann mit unserem Essen in der Hand 40min den Berg hinaufzukrakseln. Heute fand fast alles in 40min-Etappen statt. Gegessen wurde oben auf dem Berg mit einem tollen Blick von den Klippen runter aufs Meer. Da schmeckte mein Nutella-Bananen-Crêpe doch gleich doppelt so gut. Vielleicht lag es aber auch einfach daran, dass ich hungrig war. 🤔 Im Anschluss liefen wir den an einigen Stellen doch recht rutschigen Cliff-Walk mit weiteren wunderbaren Aussichtspunkten wieder hinunter und zurück zum Bus. Dauer ca. 1,5h. Auf dem Weg zurück zur Fähre folgte noch ein Stop für ein Cheese-Tasting (Käseverkostung) und dann ging es auch schon zurück nach Hobart.Baca selengkapnya
