It’s a long way to go but

Especially when the weather is going crazy.
But at least we saw a bit more of the Hamad International Airport.

A wonderful stay in South Africa ends today. But I’ll come back! There is still much we haven’t seen!

Before we went to the airport we enjoyed a last time a wine estate. The garden was very beautiful and the wine good. After that we drove to th Airport.

I shoot some photos from out the car, close to the airport is also a big township and in the background is Table Mountain.

Stellenbosch is an absolutely lovely town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It lies surrounded by the Stellenbosch Mountains in the Jonkershoek River Valley and is famous for Wine.

Surrounded by wine estate, the town is abuzz with hotels, wine shops, cafés, restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and museums. Many buildings are in Cape Dutch architecture and everything looks wonderful and clean. The people are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious!

We stayed in an apartment in mits of the town.

Wine Tasting

As a birthday gift we went the extra mile and booked an amazing wine estate tour with the Franschhoek Wine Tram inkl. a delicious wine pairing.

At 10 o’clock we arrived at Frenschhoek Terminal and afer a cup of coffee we drove to Mont Rochelle for breakfast and wine pairing.

By Tram we drove to the next eastate for lunch but before that we enjoyed MCC with truffel pairing.
The chocolate was almost as good as in Switzerland.

MCC is short for: Methode Cup Classic, also known as „Bubbles“ the „Champagner“ of South Africa.

We enjoyed lunch at „Grande Profence Plattform“. A lovely surprise was the sculpture garden as well as a big art gallery and I had a nice chat with an artist.

Our last stopp for this day was Haute Cabriere Estate.
They leed us vo in a wonderfull wine and MCC cellar. And an expert opened the MCC bottle with a saber it was awsome.

At the top we had dessert and wine pairing combined with a beautiful view uppon valley and mountains.Baca selengkapnya

Cape Hope

On our way to Stellenbosch we visited Cape Hope and Cape Point.
It was initially called the Cape of Storms, what is a very suitable name because I got almost blow away from the wind. It feels like it comes from antarctica it self. Because Antarctica is only around 6200 km away.

I also enjoyed the spotting of a seal colony. As well as a lot of Albatrosses. It was very fascinating.Baca selengkapnya

Cape Town | Waterfront

We stayed for 3 nights in Cape Town. Our hotel is close to Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. It’s Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour. Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is for sure one of South Africa's most visited destination. It has everything a (tourists) heart needs.

Great restaurants and bars with delicious food and view are everywhere. Next to gastronomy is shopping at second place of activations. Along to souvenir shops, has it also two big, covered marked.

And last but not least: entertainment. Live shows, piratboat, sundowner-boats, cagediving, walewatching and many more is possible. There is also the „Two Oceand Museum“ as well as the art museum „zeitz mocaa“. I visited the art museum, but I will do a separate post about that.Baca selengkapnya

One of it is Bo-Kaap. It is one of the oldest residential areas in Cape town y as d clearly visible, since the houses shining in breght colors.

It has a rich and multicultural history. Formally known as the Malay Quarter, the district is rooted in Malaysian, African, Indian and Sri Lankan culture.

Thompsons Beach and King Shaka Airport

We left St Lucia in the early morning and drove to Thompsons Beach, This is a popular beach for its safe swimming conditions (because it is protected by shark nets and lifeguards), as well as for its warm waters, thanks to the Indian Ocean. There is also a massive tidal pool, which is great for watching big waves. They crash into the pool, what is thrilling. But at same time, it’s a reminder how strong the sea is.

Afterwards we went to King Shaka International Airport. Everything went very easy and I’m
sitting now in a not-so-big airplane. We will now fly to Capetown were we stay a few days till we go to the next destination.Baca selengkapnya
