    Update on Day 2

    April 24, 2016 in Spain

Al and I arrived by taxi at lunch time. My right foot is badly swollen. We checked into our little hotel. It is quirky but ideal for the next three nights. We had a great seafood salad lunch and went for a nap on the beach. The seawater was really cold. Hopefully it will help my blisters and swollen foot.
The weather is beautiful and the location stunning. We watched puffins and sandpipers on the beach. It was enchanting watching the peregrinos walking along the beach towards Cabo Finisterre.
We all have that sunburnt look and slow walk about us.
Al and I intend to walk to the Cabo either tomorrow or Tuesday. We will return to Santiago on Wednesday and explore the city before returning home.
I have made the decision not to push my luck any further and make loved ones any more anixous. So, I will fly home with Al to Gatwick and make my way home.
We still have a few days of adventures and laughs....

    Day 2 Negreiria to Finisterre

    Day 2 Negreiria to Finisterre

    Man down 😩
My right foot is swollen and painful. Today should have been 33km hike over a lot of hills. Reluctantly, but using what little common sense I have left, we are getting a taxi to Finisterre. My foot simply won't carry me that distance without causing serious jury. We will rest up there for a few days and do some light walking. Hopefully, my foot will recover enough to let me carry on with the Camino Ingles before I go home.
Al and I stayed at a wonderful rural casa last night. We had a fantastic meal and collapsed into our beds at around 10pm.
After 10 hours sleep, we are ready for another day.....

    Death of the Walking sShoes

    April 26, 2016 in Spain

I finally threw my walking shoes in the bin. They were completely wrecked and owe me nothing. I have walked the Great Glen Way,Camino Frances, Camino Portuguese and countless walks in them. I will look for a different make that hopefully will not cause me so many blisters. Update on feet - a few small blisters and right foot is no longer swollen.
