      Ankunft Cran Canaria

      Am Samstag ging es für uns von Frankfurt nach Cran Canaria. Unser Flug hatte leider 30 Minuten Verspätung und er kam mir ewig vor.
      Auf der Insel angekommen, erwartete uns strahlender Sonnenschein und die Laune ging nach oben.
      Der Check-in ging super schnell und wir konnten direkt auf unser Zimmer.

      Las Palmas

      What can I say, If you are looking for adventure and out there places. This would be about the most disappointing place to start. Firstly we called the marina for a birth. They said no space go to the anchorage. As always we ignored them and snuck in in the dark, found ourselves a spot and started conversations with the locals who lent us an access card so we could go for a much needed beer after 7 days at sea. So far so good.
      We got woken up by the Marina security telling us to go to the anchorage then come back in our dinghy to register. What a pain. Again we ignored them and went to register without moving. There was a queue which took us an our of waiting in the sun to get to the front of. Most people were cheerful but there were some notable exceptions.. everyone was told there’s no room at the in go to the anchorage. And were put on the waiting list which was 2 months long!!!. We registered and moved to the anchorage .

      Next into town for some shopping and spy where the best beers are. We were here to pick up Spoons who was coming on the onward journey. And re stock with food etc and even do the final maintenance list before we are on the start line for the big trip. Best have a beer and think about it.

      Nicks on the shopping, so I’m on the maintenance list.
      New ropes for Diedrie as the originals were rubbish
      AIS was causing an earth leak find and fix.
      Buy and fit new connections for auto helm.
      And at the last moment the generator has spat out its dummy.

      We are far enough south that we should be solidly in the trade winds which should push us south and west. But unbelievable we have south and South west wind forecasts to for the next few days. More weather bad luck for us. Luckily it seems we cant remember all the shopping in just one visits so we get to go multiple times.
      OK time to go to the bar with our new 20 something Cornish mates. Who have bought Nicholson 32 with no sailing experience and were heading across the Atlantic. Having started in Falmouth a month before. We had a great night and I hope they are ok. They have a boat that only carries 70 litres of fuel and 100 litres of water they have plans to carry extra..
      The 1st of December wind looks good, lets get going. Shame about the generator.!      Read more

      Las palmas - week 01

      On se souviendra :
      - De l'arrivée à l'aéroport et de la promenade sur le front de mer de Las Canteras.
      - Des premiers jours qui fluctuent entre décompression et stress pour tout mettre en place pour la recherche du bateau (Sailors Bay Bar, annonces,etc.).
      - De la petite dame du magasin d'accessoires nautiques qui nous a avertis des "pirates" (les capitaines qui prennent l'argent des bateau-stoppeurs et qui partent).
      - Des rencontres à l'auberge Aguïta (Marta, dentiste lyonnaise et prof de yoga, Amaury et sa ferme bretonne Granit'Ethik).
      De la soirée cocktail dans le quartier Vegueta avec Tom et Milou (et du gofio - plat de pois chiche pas ouf).
      De la parade des rois mages avec les gens de l'auberge et de l'émerveillement enfants devant Gaspard, Melchior et Balthazar.
      - De la rencontre avec Jeanne sur le bateau de Bernard. Jeanne nous a conte son histoire vraiment atypique et mouvementé. Premier pas officiel sur un bateau pour cette année 2023 !
      - De la rencontre avec Jorge, le partenaire de Bernard, et de la première conversation en espagnol.
      - De la rando vers le Pico de las Nieves et le Pico del Nublo au coucher de soleil avec les collègues de Badi.      Read more

      Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Flughafen

      Um 17:07 Ortszeit sind wir gelandet. Nachdem nach allen Pannen ein größeres Flugzeug zur Verfügung gestellt wird, haben wir eine 4 er Reihe alleine. Jetzt geht es los 😌
      Das Schiff ist sehr schön und liebevoll gestaltet. Viele Ecken in denen man total bequem sitzen und lesen kann. Das Selbstbedienungslokal sehr angenehm weil gut geschnitten und nicht laut.
      Als das Schiff ablegt, bekommen wir zu spüren, was es heißt auf einem kleinen Schiff auf dem Atlantik zu sein. Nichts für leicht seekranke Personen.
      Wir beschließen den Tag mit einem Vortrag über Teneriffa und fallen dann todmüde ins Bett.      Read more

      Der Yachthafen von Las Palmas

      Schließlich schlendern wir noch hinunter zum Yachthafen, der nur wenige Schritte von unserem Hotel entfernt ist. Hier liegt noch alles im Winterschlaf, Restaurants und Discos sind noch geschlossen, die Boote dick eingepackt, und nur einzelne Restaurants sind geöffnet. Mit Blick auf den dahinterliegenden Industrie-Hafen, Bohr-Plattformen und das Kreuzfahrt-Terminal erscheint uns die Lage alles andere als idyllisch, dennoch sei dies einer der größten Yachthäfen der Kanaren.Read more

      Durch den Ostwind ist viel Saharastaub in der Luft, es ist trübe, dunstig. Gran Canaria taucht gegen 11 Uhr aus dem Dunst auf "Land in Sicht !".
      Wir entdecken die Sea Cloud, ich frage an und tatsächlich ist Petra an Bord die ich von Lanzarote kenne.
      16 Uhr sind wir an der Tankstelle in Las Palmas fest, danach stehen Peer und Christine 3 Stunden an der Rezeption, bevor sie den letzten freien Liegeplatz ergattern. Steg L53.
      19:30 machen wir dort fest, es gibt Abendessen und danach eine heiße Dusche.      Read more

      Nach einem leckeren Frühstück fangen Peer und ich den Umbau der Leitungen zum Wassermacher an. Ständig fehlt ein Teil und Peer wandert zum Shipchandler, um mal eine Pumpe, mal Ventile nachzukaufen.
      Dann aber funktioniert er endlich und produziert Trinkwasser.      Read more

      Gran Canaria, Hafen von Las Palmas

      Gran Canaria ist mit einer Fläche von 1560,1 km² nachTeneriffa und Fuerteventura die drittgrößte der
      Kanarischen Inseln, einer Autonomen Gemeinschaft Spaniens. Die fast kreisrunde Insel hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 50 Kilometern und eine Küstenlänge von rund 236 Kilometern. Gemessen an der Bevölkerung ist Gran Canaria nach Teneriffa die zweitgrößte Insel der Kanaren. Die Hauptstadt ist Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Im Jahr 2020 hatte die Insel 855.521 Einwohner.

      Wir legen früh am Morgen am Hafen von Las Palmas an. Unsere heutige Tour verbindet Natur rund um den Bandama Krater und Pico, und das (Alt)Stadtleben von Las Palmas.

      Erster Halt ist am Sandstrand "Las Canteras". Interessanterweise muss hier jährlich Sand abgetragen werden, der vom Meer im Überfluss angeschwemmt wird. Anderenfalls würde das Sandlevel zu weit ansteigen. Heute am frühen Montagmorgen ist nicht viel los, aber inzwischen ist auf Gran Canaria eigentlich das ganze Jahr über Saison, verstärkt kommen Urlauber aus Deutschland und England über die Wintermonate.

      Weiter geht die Fahrt zunächst aus der Stadt heraus zum Pico de Bandema und dem Krater.      Read more

      El Atalanta

      Eindelijk is de wind wat geen liggen en horen we de zee ipv de fluitende wind.
      We besluiten naar Las Arenas te wandelen om boodschappen te doen maar het wandelen en het zonnetje doen zo goed dat we doorwandelen tot aan het parkje aan het beeld El Atalanta. Het barretje waar we wilden eten is gesloten en in renovatie dus maar terug naar Las Arenas waar we gaan lunchen bij ‘Scooters’.
      Daar bestellen we veel te veel: een pizza voor Dirk en een sandwich California voor mij maar hier geeft men altijd een vork en twee bordjes om te eten want ‘s middags eet men hier meestal portions en tapas en pas ‘s avonds echt een maaltijd. Dus bij mijn twee halve broodjes is ook een portie frieten en het broodje zelf krijg ik amper op.
      Met volle maag wandelen we terug en stoppen bij La Peña voor een Ron Miel en nu hadden ze daar toch puntitas de calamar en die kon Dirk niet weerstaan dus njam, njam die namen we dan ook maar.
      Volgegeten konden we op ons terras toch een uurtje of zo in ‘t zonnetje zitten, het was dan 19gr en NNO wind dus niet zo vlak op terras gericht.
      Ons avondeten was vlug klaar: een potje yoghurt!
      Op TV gala de Reina want dat zien we liever vanuit de luie zetel.
