Arrived in Rotorua in time to have a walk in the giant redwood forest. Very impressive. Though not as impressive as the giant redwoods in California. They haven’t had time to catch up yet!
A morning mountain biking in the redwood forest. Jon’s favourite activity so far. Wonderful scenery yet again. Weather absolutely fantastic. We are being very luck so far.
Thermal walk in inhabited Māori village. Geysers, fumaroles, mud pools and hot 🥵 pools. Locals cook their food over steam vents in boxes. It’s a form of slow cooking. Put it in the box in theЧитать далее
Walk in the redwood forest with lights and lanterns. Lovely.
Short walk around Blue Lake. Stunning scenery and weather.
Walk in gardens and by Rotorua Lake. Cracking the flags yet again!
Drove to Taupo today. Visited a thermal park. The park was called Craters of the Moon. Nearby is the site of one of the world’s first geothermal power stations. 20% of New Zealand’s electricity isЧитать далее

Carrying on past Mount Ngauruhoe to the Red Crater, the Emerald Lakes and the Blue Lake. Followed by views of Lake Rotoaira and Lake Taupo
Morning walk along Waikato river to Huka Falls. New Zealand’s most visited natural feature. Massive amount of water forced through narrow canyon. Enough to fill an Olympic swimming pool in 11Читать далее
