Bluff

Our first destination was Bluff where we visited our friends and celwbrated New Years with them.
They showed us around their beautiful home town. We have visited the Ship Graveyard, kids loved it there! Also visited the Bluff Maritime Museum where you not only see all the local history but can also go on a historic oyster catching boat. How fun! Omaui beach is so beautiful! And sunset from Bluff Hill topped it all off! We loved visiting this little town!Meer informatie

Quick overnight stay in Lake McGregor campsite. Great camp with all the facilities - toilets, water, kitchen sink. Some residebts are parked there for the whole season. Lake was beautiful for kayaking and we had a quick swim all of us too.Meer informatie

Awesome time off signal in the middle of nowhere with friends. Private hut, 4wd trip hunting, fishing, lot of walking, open fire, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding. What more would you want?

Devils Punchbowl Falls

Climb up to the beautiful waterfall which can be seen from the parking spot underneath already. The climb was a bit steep but well worth it. All the kids made it no problem. There is another hike continuing from the top of the Deivls Punchbowl walk, we continued for a bit to get some better views!Meer informatie

What was supposed to be an overnight stay in a camp became a three-day stay at the end. Our friend from Auckland was on his way down south and we met him here as well.
Awesome camp with all the facilities a camper needs. Fully equiped kitchen, toilets and hot showers, even laundry. Also fireplace stocked up with wood so we made food on open fire every night. There is a big grassy field here amazing for kids play (well, not only kids ;) ). And the whole area smelled after mint! What a dream!
Short walking distance to the river where we dipped. Wasn't warm but super refreshing!
On the way to the river by the stairs their is a little fairy village. Oh and close by there is a bamboo forest, the kids loved playing there! Simply a perfect place to camp looked after by local community. Thank you!Meer informatie

We have spent probably around 2 - 3 weeks in Motueka and Tasman area. As we have friends living in that area we didn't need to use any camgrounds and so can't give many tips on that. There is a beautiful walk around the beachfront starting in the wharf which leads you around a picturesque ship wreck. In low tide you can go all the way to it.
Its a beautiful little town surrounded by orchards, so lot of fresh produce available. We had a great time here especially with our friends.
In the time while we were here we bought a little teardrop as we still weren't sure when our caravan arrives. Jan and Naty drove to Ashburton to pick it up. Was an awesome little addition to our travel family! 😁Meer informatie
