      Coucou les pingoos !

      Troisième jour sur Manille aujourd'hui, après un vol retardé d'1h30.
      J'avoue honteusement que je n'ai même pas visité la ville alors que mon hostel propose des tours gratuits MAIS j'ai une bonne raison ! Hier j'ai chopé une petite intox alimentaire à cause du petit déj' de l'hôtel. Et le soir, je me suis quand même motivés à retrouver mes copaaaaaings de Sumatra et quelques autres français. C'était très cool malgré mon état un peu branli-branlant mais j'ai soigné le mal par le mal (j'ai pas réussi à manger mais l'alcool a apaisé mon petit corps ahahah). Bon bah comme d'habitude avec eux, j'ai dû dormir sur place et ce matin c'est donc en ÉNORME gueule de bois que je leur ai (re)dit au revoir, pour de bon de bon cette fois (ces traîtres rentrent en France dans un mois). Donc sans surprise, c'est dans un état végétatif que j'ai passé la journée (bon j'ai finalement réussi à remanger un peu, sortir vite fait, écrire, lire, ce n'était pas complètement catastrophique)
      Mon prochain avion est lundi soir, direction Jakarta avec escale à Kua Lumpur, ça va encore être un loooong trajet mais ça annonce de belles aventures (normalement)

      Ich habe die Nacht geschlafen wie ein Stein!
      Gegen neun bin ich aufgewacht und relativ fit. Ich merke aktuell noch keinen Jetlag, aber vielleicht habe ich den auch einfach durch die fast 48 Stunden durchgehend wach sein, überlistet.

      Im laufe des Nachmittags erwache ich auch etwas aus meiner Schockstarre. Ich fühle mich immer noch nicht wohl und völlig fehl am Platz, aber es wird besser. Den ersten Schock habe ich wohl mal überwunden, bin aber trotzdem noch völlig überfordert von der Größe, dem Verkehr, dem Lärm und den Menschenmassen!

      Ich habe den Tag an sich heute aber sehr ruhig angehen lassen. Ich bin erst gegen halb elf zum Frühstück ins Rooftop-Restaurant, habe dann etwas die Planung der nächsten Tage vorgenommen und anschließend noch bis drei Uhr mit Timo verbracht. Der ist dann los zum Flughafen und ich habe mich nochmal hingelegt.
      Gegen fünf habe ich mich dann auf den Weg zur Greenbelt-Mall gemacht. Sind zwei Kilometer durch die Stadt und voller Abenteuer - Hauptsache ist, sich nicht von irgendwem überfahren zu lassen!

      Die Mall ist gigantisch groß und voll mit Menschen. Ich habe mich tatsächlich zweimal verlaufen und musste mir meinen Weg zum Ausgangspunkt wieder mühsam suchen.

      Auf dem Heimweg habe ich mir dann noch ne Pizza gegönnt und noch ein Bier im Hostel.      Leia mais

      Walking Down Memory Lane

      Wake early, have breakfast at same place we had dinner last night. Silog for M and Embosilog for Z - 61 PHP. Back to apartment for wifi, get a Grab taxi to go to Z’s old house in Marcelo Green Village, Parañaque. Jay is our taxi driver - really nice and inquisitive guy. Walked around old house, Jay waited to take us back. Got Jay to drop us off at Lunetta Park. Go back to National Museum of the Philippines. Shared a Turon which M really liked, M tried Taho for the first time and not a big fan. After museum, got into a tricycle to go to Chinatown. Not much there. Tried to get a tricycle back to our apartment but drivers were asking too much so we walked back...ended up finding some cool streets with many vendors! Had some fishball on our way back (one guy tried to c barge 50PHP each when they’re normally 5PHP each! Lol)...M liked these. Got some baked goods (hopia, mamon, chocolate cake, Spanish bread) and his first pop in plastic bag 😂. Back home and chilled at apartment, napped until dinner time, went out to vendor on street we walked earlier for dinner, then back to sleep. Early morning to catch flight to Batanes tomorrow.Leia mais

      Hallo Philippinen (Manila)

      ..ganz entspannt zum Flughafen laufen..🚶‍♀️
      ...ganz entspannt einchecken..😉 ..die wollten nicht mal mein Weiterreiseticket sehen, was ich mir extra 'geborgt' hab. Nur eine kurze Frage, wie lange ich auf den Philippinen bleibe. Aber man weiß ja nie, wie so etwas abläuft.🤷‍♀️

      Yangon (Myanmar) -> Bangkok (Thailand) -> Manila (Philippinen)✈

      Zum Glück funktioniert die App Grab und ich sitze kurz darauf im Taxi 🚖 zum Hostel. Eine große moderne Stadt. Gar nicht zu vergleichen mit Yangon und Co. Auch relativ sauber und viele hübsche Bauten.🏤🏩

      Mein Hostel ist auch auf dem neusten Stand. Digitale Armbänder zum Tür öffnen. Neuwertige saubere Betten, in abgetrennten Kabinen. Ein stylisches Haus inkl. Cafe und Restaurant. Musik zum Entspannen. Das Frühstück wird morgens um 6.00 in einer Papiertüte ins Zimmer gestellt.😅🤦‍♀️ Das kann man dann auf der Dachterrasse mit zusätzlich Cornflakes und Cafe genießen.👍😉

      Da ich durch den Riesen Stau in der Stadt (wohl normal hier) ziemlich spät ankomme, laufe ich nur einmal um den Blog. Dann entdecke ich einen kleinen Foodmarkt. Perfekt. Das Essen ist lecker und nicht so teuer..(kostet hier jetzt alles etwas mehr, wie im Rest Südostasiens). Außerdem spielt auf einer Bühne eine ziemlich coole Band..

      Ich erleidet fast einen kleinen Kulturschock hier. Alle Männer tragen auf einmal wieder Hosen🚶‍♂️, die Frauen sind sehr freizügig angezogen💃..und auch auf der Bühne beim Foodmarkt werden mit einem anderem Humor lustige Szenen aus dem Alltag nachgestellt. In den buddhistischen Ländern undenkbar. Durch die spanische Kolonialherrschaft ist das Land sehr christlich geprägt (90% Christen).

      Was mich noch irritiert: Alle begrüßen mich mit: "Hey Mom!" Was soll das denn bitte? Ich bin doch nicht ihre Mama?🤣🤔☝️
      Nach kurzer Zeit finde ich heraus, dass sie "Hey Madom" meinen und das ihre Abkürzung ist.🤷‍♀️ Aber es hört sich überall wirklich wie "Mom" an.🤦‍♀️😅 Jeden Satz beginnen sie mit "Hey Mom" oder "Hey Sir"..."Please Mom"... usw.. gewöhnungsbedürftig!

      Und... ☝️ was stark auffällt: Selbst in meinem kleinen kurzen Radius hab ich das offensichtlich bemerkt. Einige hellhäutige (wahrscheinlich europäische) Männer, wohlgemerkt in jedem Alter, sehe ich mit einer Filipino Frau.🤣🙄 (👨‍🦳oder🧑🏼+👩🏾=💛)      Leia mais

      Wohin? Wie? Oder doch nicht?

      Hier in Manila stehen alle Möglichkeiten offen. Nun versuche ich die günstigen Varianten herauszufinden um von A nach B zu kommen und welche Route ich einschlagen will. 🙄🤔 Das hat heute echt fast den ganzen Tag in Anspruch genommen.. ich kann mich doch so schwer entscheiden...🤦‍♀️🙄

      Fliegen wollte ich versuchen zu vermeiden..obwohl es wahrscheinlich genauso vom Preis gewesen wäre, wie die 'teure' Fähre, die ich nun spät am Abend noch für Morgen gebucht habe. Nach dem Motto, "Der Weg ist das Ziel" habe ich mich für die 'Nachtfähre' entschieden. Bin ich noch nie gefahren, deswegen probiere ich das mal aus.⛴ Abends um 19.00 geht's los. Morgens um 6.00 wacht man an einer anderen Insel auf. So jedenfalls der Plan☝️😅

      Es wird sich wahrscheinlich eh noch 100 mal ändern, meine 'geplante Route'.😅🤦‍♀️🌏

      Ansonsten hab ich mich heut noch um andere Organisationen gekümmert. Wäsche, Geld abholen,..wo ist der nächste Supermarkt...oooohhhh mein Gott, ich werd wahnsinnig 😱.... Kääääse! Ganz viel davon.. heute gibt's Käsebrot zum Mittag. Die Filipinos haben eine große Auswahl an Lebensmitteln, die sehr westlich sind. Mit Ausnahme einiger tropisch exotischen Früchte (Durian, usw.). Damit hab ich nun überhaupt nicht gerechnet. 🤷‍♀️ Ist ja wunderbar..🧀🧀🧀🧀🥖🤩

      Ich bin wirklich gespannt, was mich hier in diesem Land noch so erwartet..und ich freue mich schon darauf, endlich an einem dieser Traumstrände zu liegen🏝, die es hier wohl geben soll..😅🤷‍♀️ (wenn ich dann auch mal irgendwann dahin komme). Ich könnte ja einfach hinfliegen, so wie es alle machen..? Aber nein,.. ich muss es ja unbedingt wieder anders als die Anderen machen..nämlich kompliziert und lang 😅😅🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️⛴      Leia mais

      Gili Air, up to Leaving Bali

      Sadly, I had to leave Gili Air, to get on a flight from Bali Airport (Denpasar) to Manila. Gili is a bit grubby around the shoreline, and inland, but that's Indonesia all over. It's by far the most relaxed and pleasant place I've been to in Indonesia. Not so much exciting as welcoming and liveable.
      For my last night, I popped along the beach to a restaurant that was having a 'movie night'. It was the the Julia Roberts vehicle, Eat, Pray, Love. Very fittingly for seeing it screened in an island off Bali, it has J.R. trying to find herself, losing herself and generally not understanding herself in Italy, India and Indonesia (the alliteration must be intentional).
      Early to bed, to get a good night's sleep in my fantastic bamboo hut, ready for the boat back to Bali and the airport.      Leia mais

      Travel from Bali to Coron via Manila

      A short-ish post today.
      The travel through Manila got to me - that and not having access to wi-fi or a local SIM card that works for either Manila or the island of Coron.
      Hopefully, the photos will illustrate some of the travel-hassles and things seen along the way through Manila. It's now my least favourite city on this trip.
      It was an awful bit of travelling, but inevitably there had to be some lousy experiences amongst the pleasurable ones.
      But sailing to Coron was a different experience altogether.
      The ferry from Manila dropped me off in San Jose, Mindoro, from where I (eventually) got on another ferry to the island of Coron. I got lucky in finding a tricycle taxi driver who was human and helpful, and got me to the ferry port in okay time.
      It was due to leave at 10am, but passengers had to wait for cargo and goods to be loaded, so that it was 11:30 before I got on.
      What an absolutely lovely voyage it was. Calm sea, warm sunshine. It made it a real adventure and not just getting somewhere.      Leia mais
